Being on a losing streak with my weight is definitely helping my confidence because I didn't feel uncomfortable at all in my bathing suit. My legs are thinning out for sure because my usual chub rub was nonexistent.

I'm still rocking the points and the pedometer. Total loss now is 12.4 pounds.

My company is doing the yacht lunch again this year so we having that on Friday. Now I have to pick out my very best Mrs. Howell outfit to wear on my yacht.

Yup, Amber is was a year ago that we were both in the city. Time flies!

My daily menu looks something like this:
B: 2 egg whites, low carb tortilla, 1 wedge laughing cow cheese, 1/2 banana OR oatmeal with 1/2 chopped apple
L: WW Smart Ones with 1 cup added raw spinach
S: Baby bell cheese with a few reduced fat wheat thins, 1/2 apple OR 2 pt yogurt with 1 tb FF cool whip
D: tonight it's leftover pulled pork that I made in the crockpot with onions, garlic and chicken broth, 1 cup raw spinach

I've been having my 1 glass of wine at night too because I don't really eat sweets and I have the points so might as well use them. I eat other veggies too but I like the raw spinach wilted in the microwave for 30 seconds because it fills me up. I think doing low carb for so long has helped me stick with WW because I don't feel like I'm giving anything up. It's been relatively easy, plus I know I have to cut my cholesterol or go on meds and I don't want to do that.

Hey Laura congrats on your diet, sweetie!!!

Yeah, so the nutritionist says I'm "killing myself" with the low carb diet! *snort* And gave me what amounts to the ADA diet/Weight Watchers. He lambasted me for my protein intake and high fat intake. Then I did the math on his diet and pointed out:

Um, so with your calories and percentages, it shows that you recommend 70g of protein for me. That's what I average a day. I actually eat closer to 60g per day. And it shows that you recommend that I have 47g of fat per day and I am actually closer to averaging about 40g of fat per day. So can you explain to me how if I'm not losing now at 1000kcal/day and all I've done is take your diet and taken out the high glycemic grain and starch carbs from the diet, how is it that you think someone who is pre-T2 and hyperinsulinemic with PCOS is going to lose better and have a better control of bloodsugar by adding 70g of additional grain/starch carbs BACK into my diet?

*snort* I told him I would give him 10lbs or 3months before I'm back and telling him "I told you so".

I asked him what he would do if I get starving and my blood sugar and weight goes up? He said he would cut my carbs and maybe protein. Haha. I said, "Bingo. Welcome to my world. Your diet is how I started. My diet is where I ended up with controlled blood sugars."

Still, it might be interesting to see if I can handle a paleo style of eating at 130g of carbs per day! Right? I mean, who doesn't want to eat whole grain pasta and brown rice, and fruit if they can, right?

So it was another fun day on the yacht with my work peeps. We had gorgeous, perfect weather. The people, food, music, everything was just so nice. I am very lucky to work for such a great company.

I walked a ton in the city and I could really feel that my fitness has improved. I walked 14 blocks without breaking a sweat or being out of breath when I got there. Then I felt like I needed to walk off my wine and small piece of cheesecake so I walked the 14 blocks back even though I planned on taking a cab. Yay me!

Today is back to crazyville. DH is dealing with his lawyer over college stuff for his son and since I have a fax in my office I get to fax and receive all kinds of lovely ******** letters. His ex-wife would fight over a quarter if it came down to it. I can't believe she is bothering to spend money on a lawyer to tell us stupid crap about expenses that we already know, and agreed, that we have to pay for. She truly enjoys being a PIA.

Oh Pooti you are so my hero!!

But.... Whole grain pasta and brown rice . I've tried to like them in the past, I really tried. Totally failed.

Your doc cracks me up!!!!! At least mine is like "I don't like the heart health issues of the high fat content on Atkins, but for weight loss you can't beat it". He prefers to prescribe south beach because of the lower fat, but is super supportive of me doing Atkins if it is what makes me lose weight. I go to a natropathic clinic, maybe that makes a difference.

Laura!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your yacht trip sounds like a blast! Did you see Lovie and Thurston??? You are sooo the best woman of all for walking!!! That is amazing and wonderful and I'm so proud to know you! MUAH!!

JC - *snort* I'm sooo not hero material! Yeah, I don't like "whole grain" pasta or brown rice. I do love wild rice though. But so far, I'm not doing any of that. I did have fruit and rutabaga yesterday. *sigh*

When I worked in NYC I used to walk at least 20 minutes to and from the train and I was 128 pounds. It really is the best exercise in my opinion. I'm pleased with my progress and starting to look at some new walking goals like doing a 5k in the fall. Some friends are doing a Race for Life event so that would be a good start.

On Tuesday night I was in the ER with DD because she fell and cracked her head on a playdate, but fortunately didn't need stitches. There was a ton of blood though and it was scary for her and me!

Last night my stepson graduated from high school. It was a proud moment. DH had tears in his eyes. He was so proud! But good god was it hot! My poor MIL made it through the whole ceremony but she was sweating so bad and so uncomfortable. She's a tough broad. I brought a chair and wedged myself under the bleachers to get some shade. It was 96 degrees when the ceremony started at 6:30 and we didn't get out of there until 8:40. The things we do for our kids!

I'm off from work for a few days. Need to prep for the graduation party, get DD ready for summer camp and shop for a baby present for a shower I have to go to on Sunday. Full life, but hey it's a good one.

Have a great day and if you're on the east coast like me, stay well hydrated. This heat is nasty!

Feel free to send some of your heat our way!! I think it is still under 60 here today. Grey and cloudy, again .

Oh well, good weather for exercising in!

Poor DD! Did you freak? My DD got a big cut on her forehead when she was 2 that looked like it had gone through her skull because of way the skin broke and kind of folded in around all the swelling. I did the whole call 911, ambulance come and say she just needed some stitches thing. We drove her to the hospital so it would cost less, but it was still $1200 for four stitches!

Congrats on your son! Way too many kids think a GED is as good as a diploma. 2 of my bonus sons got GED's and only 1 got his HSD. Funny thing is the two with the GED's are doing better than their brother . Weird.

Hey guys! You are all so sweet. I've been super busy lately but next week is vacation! We're going to Lancaster/Hershey for a few days. DD loves it there and it's a nice getaway for us that's not too far.

I'm still doing well with WW. In fact, my sister had been in a slump with it but said I encouraged her so much with my losses that she hit the points hard last week and lost 2.6 pounds. Go sis!

We went to a BBQ yesterday and I brought along my broccoli slaw made with greek yogurt, fresh garlic and lime juice. Everyone loved it. My mom makes great macaroni salad but I didn't want to eat it and didn't want to offend so I brought my own salad and everyone had a little of both.

The only thing I haven't been able to do much of lately is walking. My sciatica has been acting up again in my right leg. I'm fine for most of the morning but by afternoon it starts to really get annoying. I've been using my patches and moist heat. Unfortunately, I've found with experience that it's just one of those things that has to play itself out and then it goes away usually for a few months.

I hope it gets better soon because I calculated my miles the other day for our work project where we are supposed to "walk" to Miami from our office in NYC by October. So far I'm only halfway through Virginia!

Wooohooooo Lancaster and Hershey! Are you gonna visit with Kitty? Our Itt Bitty Kitty Committee? You should. You should! Will Amber be back from vacay?

Oh so sorry to hear of the sciatica!!! Hope you get a handle on it soon. Can you soak in a tub of magnesium salts (Epsom salt bath)?? Maybe that could help?

And lOl, Virginia is a gorgeous place to be waylayed! Joel Salatin lives there. Be sure to say high for me, ok?

Hoping the sciatica leaves you alone soon!

She'll be on the other side of PA Pooti. Amber's side. About 4 hours west from Hershey to get here.
