Wow, so much to share today. Where to begin?

--I'm down 2.5 pounds since last Monday.

--Continuing to crush the pedometer with a total of 8,000 steps yesterday! I'm getting closer to the magical 10,000 steps a day that Dr. Oz says is best for optimal health. Imagine me at optimal health. Who knew??

--The bee pollen thing: I've noticed my appetite is pretty much diminished. Saturday I wasn't hungry all day and only ate twice. I'm not ready to say that it works though because between the walking and changing up my eating plan, I'm just not sure yet.

--I joined WW online. My mother and sister are both losing consistently with WW and were encouraging me to give it another go, so I figured why not. I like being able to track everything online, including my exercise and water, so that's cool. Nothing to complain about there.

--And the last tidbit of news is my FIL was finally transferred to the acute care center for rehab and seems to be back to his normal cranky self, so that's a relief.

Whew! If you stayed with me through all of that, thank you.

I just did my 2-mile walk this morning and feel really good. Hoping for another day of staying on track.

My doctor called me the other day to go over some bloodwork I had last week. My LDL cholesterol is really high, but so is my good HDL. So, she said I can try getting it down on my own first without medication. I like that idea. I just hate popping pills all the time and already take something for anxiety, so I'd rather not take more stuff on top of that.

So far I'm enjoying being back on WW. It's a good change for me and I'm focusing on eating more fiber and more dairy, like yogurt because the other thing in my bloodwork was that my vitamin D is extremely low. I have to take supplements for now just to get it back up to a normal range, but I'm also trying to focus on healthy vitamin D-rich foods like yogurt and fortified cereal. I don't want to end up with osteoporosis and spend my old age not being able to get around!

This is such a busy, busy week. We seem to have some activity or meeting every night this week. I just hate that. The last few nights I've been so wound up when I go to bed I just can't sleep without waking up constantly or feeling restless.

I'm looking forward to summer. DD goes to camp every day but at least there's no homework and I don't have to make lunches or go to games or meetings at night. We just got our beach badges and I need to get myself a new comfy beach chair since DH left mine in the shed and it rotted over the winter. Come on nice weather, I'm ready!!

Good for you not jumping on the cholesterol med band wagon. DH said no too. Hoping we can get his to a good point. Those meds can mess with ya!

Laura- I am so coming to see you soon now I am off! We can be Jerseylicious! LOL I love that show! Mainly cause any animal print is a good thing, we gotta plan a hook up when the weather gets nice!!! I know what you mean, when school ends its such a break from all the running like baseball and the after school stuff it never ends!

So you started WW are you doing it on line? I might need to look at that, I want to be able to eat all food groups, I will wait and see how you are doing!!!!

LOL! Janet, I am so not Jerseylicious. I do like the show though except for Gigi and Frankie. The salon is in Green Brook, which is in north Jersey in what they call "the armpit of NJ." Definitely nothing glamorous about that place!

Amber, I would love to get together. I live about a mile from the beach. It's a nice little town to visit. Yes, I am doing WW online. It's really easy to track everything and so far I like it. I'm still sticking with my plan of no sugar and no processed foods though.

The weather this week has been awful. I haven't been able to do my morning walk since Monday because of all the stupid rain. I've done my elliptical a few times but I really miss my walk and my pedometer steps are suffering this week from not getting my walks in.

What is everyone doing for the weekend? I got a babysitter for tomorrow night and I'm taking DH to a really cool place called the Silverball museum in Asbury Park. They have hundreds of vintage pinball machines and you pay by the hour or half hour and can play any machines you want. It's so fun. We just love going there.

Didn't get to the pinball place when we were there, but we have plans to return maybe next summer. Found a great place to eat breakfast there...Munch. They were great at fixing things exactly as you asked for...LC, low fat, etc. everyone in our group had special requests....they didn't even bat an eye.....meals were great!

The weekend was great. DH and I went to Silverball and had a blast playing old pinball machines. My favorite is this funhouse one with a big kooky head that mocks you out. The Sopranos one was kind of fun too.

We went out for dinner afterwards and I had a pulled pork sandwich sans bun. It was really good. I love it and DH hates it so I rarely have it. For someone who loves to BBQ as much as he does, I can't believe he doesn't like it.

I did 2 miles again yesterday on my walk. The walk-a-thon is coming up this weekend. DD and I are doing it to raise money for a local respite house for moms with cancer. The weather is actually supposed to be good for a change. We've had so much rain the last week or so. DD's softball game was cancelled last night because of rain.

WW is going pretty good so far. I did the old points system years ago right before I got married (when I thought I was so fat at 142 pounds), so I'm familiar with it although points plus is a little different because you count carbs and protein. One thing I've been doing lately is planning my breakfast and lunch. Working from home I usually have whatever I feel like making but I decided that I really need to plan my other meals the same way I plan dinner.

MARTINI!!!!

Thanks for coming to visit my journal. Give the pedometer a try. It is so motivating. I have a very sedentary job so it serves as a reminder that I need to get up and move.

Nikki, I'm so glad you stopped by. This is only my second week on WW but I'm liking it so far. I love the online tools. Things have changed alot since the last time I did WW, way back in 2002 or 2003, Since Monday I've been feeling like I'm really settling into this and it's getting easier to track my points. I'm shocked by how many extra points I get for exercise. I'm averaging 8 a day but I'm afraid to use them. Do you use your exercise points or bank them for something special?

Thanks, Kitty! My walk-a-thon is coming up on Saturday and I'm ready. I'm bringing my 7-year old but I think she will be fine and I told her we're raising money for moms with cancer and she said "Let's do it!" I can't imagine a better way to spend Mother's Day weekend!

Amber, love the new journal title. You're getting too popular for these boards though. You need a reality show!
