Thanks Janet. They moved him out of ICU last night into a regular room, so that is definitely a good sign. Now we just have to figure out what is going on with his kidneys.
Yesterday's eau de toilet pedometer steps: 5,430. I didn't do my elliptical or any other exercise because I had to take my MIL to the hospital and pick her up. With DH working till 10 every night I need to get my exercise in on my lunch hour or it doesn't happen. I will definitely do 30 minutes today. I signed up for a walk-a-thon in a few weeks. DD and I are doing it together. It's 2.5 miles along the ocean. I hope we get some nice weather that day. ![]() |

Oh, how scary! I am so glad you showed up, you saved his life by calling 911 and getting him medical attention. I hope he recovers and they start taking better care of themselves!
The walkathon sounds fun! |

Thanks for the good wishes for my FIL. He's doing okay but they haven't decided when they are going to send him home yet. It would be nice if he came home before Sunday so my MIL doesn't have to spend Easter there with him, but we'll see what happens.
Today was our first reporting of our pedometers. My total was 24,033. I was the lowest of the group by 5,000 steps. It's good though because it will motivate me to do better next week. Happy Easter! |

My FIL is still in the hospital but doing better. He was supposed to go to a rehab center on Saturday but started running a fever again. Things seems better now, but he's refusing to get out of bed and the hospital staff isn't making him get up, which I just don't understand. He won't even sit in the chair and whereas he was getting up and going to the bathroom with assistance just a few days ago, now he is only using the bedpan. He looks better and his tests are all much better than they were last week. I just don't understand what is going on. He's very stubborn and I think he's just being a PIA, but I feel bad for thinking that in case he is sicker than we think.
![]() I'm doing better with my pedometer this week and have already gone over my steps for last week. It's only Wednesday and I'm at over 32,000, so I should have a good number to report to my team on Friday! |

I just looked at a to-do list that I had made for this week since DD's Communion is Sunday and I have a ton of crap to do. DH added this to my list:

Love the to do addition!
![]() Yeah, noticed that they don't push the getting up thing...not sure why...when son was in years ago and was pulling into a depressed stte after major surgery, they would come in and just tell him he needed to get up if he wanted to go home...they didn't push the issue enough! If I wasn't there and didn't keep harping on him, he'd still be there! They were great otherwise, but wondering if it is an issue they aren't allowed to force? Makes no sense to me though.... Sending prayers for him here |

Happy Monday y'all. I had a fantastic weekend with this gorgeous weather we are having and DD's Communion yesterday. She made us so proud. When the Monsignor asked if anyone wanted to come up on the altar to answer questions her arm shot right up and next thing you know she was standing up there next to him talking away.
Then all of a sudden her veil started coming out of her hair and was all crazy on her head like the Titanic going down and everyone was whispering "oh no." I thought I was going to have a heart attack. When she sat down I climbed over the man next to me and asked his wife to lean over and fix the veil. The poor lady tried so hard but the bobby pins had popped out and there wasn't much she could do. Well, we got through the ceremony and it didn't fall off. I finally fixed it when we went outside for pictures. It's just funny because that is so like her. She was so engrossed in the ceremony she didn't care what she looked like. I hated how I looked in the pictures yesterday but it's just more motivation, right? I am kicking some major butt with my pedometer. Last week my total was 42,000 steps. Considering I was only 24,000 the week before, I felt pretty good and I'm carrying my own weight on the team. Yay me! This morning I walked a mile and a half before work and it was sooo gorgeous. It's supposed to be 85 here today. Crazy, but I'll take it. |

Laura this weather is crazy isnt it? OMG your poor daughter God love her standing there with her veil all messed up! What a great day for it though, it was so lovely here yesterday and today! Nothing like some bad pics to get you going huh? Glad the pedometer is working to motivate you!

I need to start posting my menus again to stay on track.
Yesterday B: 2 hard boiled eggs L: turkey and cheese in a lettuce leaf rollup with mayo and avacodo S: string cheese, almonds and celery D: steak, asparagus, a few sweet potato fries (we ate late and I was hungrier than I should have been) Today B: oatmeal L: leftover hamburger with asparagus S: strawberries Dinner: crockpot chicken and a salad Pedometer steps: I didn't write it down but it was around 6200 for yesterday. I'm already at 39,163 steps for this week and I have 2 more days to go, so I will definitely pass my total last week of 42,000. As long as I improve each week I think I'm doing pretty good. I was reading a blog online about pedometers and how the goal is 10,000 steps a day for optimum health. Working from home I know I need to push myself more than the average person to get my steps in. It will be interesting to see if I can work my way close to 10,000 by October when our project ends. My highest daily step count so far has been about 6,600. |

The pic. May have motivated you, but you have some great memories there! You probably looked good in the pictures though...we are hardest on ourselves.
Daughter's outdoor wedding, rained the whole way up to the ceremony, then started again during reception line ...near the end. Sun came out just long enough to have. Nice ceremony....of course, my hair died! Uhhhh! |

Remember yesterday I said my highest step count was about 6600? Not anymore, baby! Yesterday I did 6,859. Whose killing this? I am!
![]() Kitty, I had rain on my wedding day, too. We were supposed to take pictures at the lake on this beautiful bridge and couldn't do it. But my family is Scottish and they all said rain was good luck. We've been happily married for almost 9 years, so I think it's probably true! |

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. We had opening day of softball on Saturday followed by a game. DD has really improved since last year. She got a number of really nice hits and is much more tuned into the game this year. It was such a gorgeous day on Saturday. Couldn't have asked for nicer weather to enjoy the game!
So, pedometer update: in the last 3 days I did just about 21,000 steps, which means I am continuing to smash my daily step count. I can't tell you how good this feels, especially since I am not the athletic type. at. all. Who would have guessed this silly little thing would get me so motivated? DD is even wearing one now. We are the pedometer family. |

Thanks, Amber! Still feeling good this morning. I had a protein powder pancake that I made with the bag of Jay Robb I got last week. OMG, it was so good. Definitely putting that one in my morning rotation.
Yesterday my step count was only 5,200. Got to get it up much higher today. FIL update: he's still in the hospital. It's been 3 weeks today. Last Friday he ended up back in ICU with blood clots. The doctor said he was very lucky since the one in his leg was massive. They put in a filter and he's doing better. Still on oxygen, but no longer in ICU. His leg where the clot was is hugely swollen though and he can't put weight on it so it's still up in the air as to when he can be moved to a rehab center. |

Was it the egg white protein powder with the cottage cheese, those are some yummy pancakes and if you mix the batter it keeps for a few days. I love my bullet I mix everything in there cover it and then give it whirl again, if that wasnt the recipe let me know and I will give you the one I use, OMG delicious even my son asks for them over real pancakes!

No, I think it's a Linda Sue recipe. It's just protein powder, an egg, some baking powder and a little oil. The cottage cheese one sounds good. I don't have a bullet but I have a really good stick blender. That would probably work, right?
My steps yesterday were close to 6,000. That's a little more like it. Things are really busy at work and I haven't been able to exercise at lunch. |

Welcome back, Janet! We've missed you around here.
So I had my physical this morning. Everything was good. Talked to my doc about my weight and she gave me some bee pollen to try. I haven't really heard of it as a weight loss thing but she says alot of her patients are taking it. I figured what the heck. I will try it for a month and see what happens. Tomorrow is reporting day for our pedometers. I'm up to 40,000 steps for this week as of this morning. I want to get as close to 50,000 by tomorrow as I can. ![]() |

I'm such a dork today. I went for an extra long walk this morning because we have to report our pedometer totals and I wanted to surpass my last week's total. Ok, so first I accidentally walk through the sprinkler at the park and get the back of me all wet. Then my hat blows off. Then I get in my car and start driving and realize I'm seeing double. So of course being me I start to panic and think maybe the bee pollen is messing with my eyesight or maybe I'm having an aneurysm. It took me about a full 5 minutes to realize that my right lens had popped out of my glasses.
![]() Anyhoo, I did surpass last week's total. My total steps for this week are 46,259. Yay, me! Each 2,000 is a mile so that's over 23 miles. |

Thanks for the recipe, Amber. I will definitely give those a try. I'm loving the Jay Robb.
And now for my next stupid human trick, I sent an email to myself instead of to my boss to say that something I was working on was finished. Good thing he has a sense of humor. Oh, and FIL is going to the rehab facility today so that is at least one good thing that is going on today. Calgon, take me away!!! |
