You know this whole grieving process is strange. I feel great one minute, then the next I am in tears.. this sucks.

Talked to my Mom and she is not doing well at all right now. I know she has to go through all of this and we can't take her pain away, but talking to her just makes me want to run back to St Louis... ugggg......

Deb ~ have you considered talking to someone to help you go through the grieving process? Maybe a priest or therapist? There are many people out there to help you - you don't have to go it alone. Sometimes all we need is someone to listen and talk us through it. Prayers for you

I have thought about it, and I really think my Mom needs it badly. Thanks for the suggestion, will be looking into it later today.

Good morning Deb, the grieving process can be quite overwhelming. I totally agree with Gracie, hope you, mom and family are able to find peace any way you all can.

My BIL passed away in November of 1999 at the age of 34. My SIL never got any counseling or help. I think she would've benefited from it greatly- my nephew was only 9 months old To this day she hasn't remarried but has had several relationships with some real goobers. It's like she punishes herself instead of living a happy life. Her situation is totally different from you and your mom, but I fully believe a little counseling would've helped her tremendously.

Sorry you guys! I am trying to get back into life again, but then things just pop up.. . thank you so much for just listening to my woes... I appreciate it.

Ok, so besides feeling all wierd, I am eating pretty well. . Chicken legs, and shrimp on my salad. I will probably not eat again until dinner, IF I do.. just staying low carb and going with it...

I love reading how the rest of you are doing though! It helps..

Thanks Ladies. I didn't think any of you would have actual experience with this, so we looked at a local paper from where we grew up... the cost for that paper is only $27. MUCH more reasonable..

The reason we have to have it in a paper is for life insurance requirements. So I think we know which way we are going.. thanks again... you all are so kind.

Thank you so much Chantyl!!! I knew you would have some idea. Well I am glad we did not go that route, I was kicking and digging in my heels on that price...

I am comforted to know that all these emotions are normal. I know that you KNOW.. and that makes me feel better about how Mom is feeling today.. I just wish I could take her pain away ,but of course, not possible. Hugs to you hon, I bet your Momma was gorgeous!

I feel this way all the time when I see my sisters hurting. And when my dad passed I wanted to do more for my mom. She lived another 6 yrs wo him and she made it. She grieved some days were harder than others but eventually she Got to a place where we laughed and joked and looked back on our memories happily. Hugs!

Happy Birthday to your Dad!!!! Look for signs from him today! My FIL always sends us some kind of sign on birthdays, holidays, special occasions - I'm not kidding!!!! He always played the lottery (every single night) and we never play. Nearly every single birthday (DHs, MIL, my kids, me) one of his numbers hits. Or I will see something that reminds me of him. I was told once that people who have passed aren't here all the time but they do come back on special occasions to check out what we're doing!!! I probably sound like a lunatic but I don't care!!!!

No, you sound like everyone of my sisters... I totally believe!!!! I know on the third night after his passing, he came to me like they say most do. I was worrying over some of the medical bills Mom is left with and other things, and he told me to have PEACE. That it will all be taken care of. I woke up in SUCH PEACE. You can't even imagine.

I know he is here today, and with Mom. It's a feeling that will be with me all day.

Thank you Meek!! This makes me smile.. I saw the intense damage diabetes did to my Dad and I will NOT go that route. I will do whatever it takes to get healthy and stay that way. I don't even care about missing favorite food right now. Just getting healthy.
