You did great on your DD! I often went higher than my allotted 350 (by 200+) and always lost with no setbacks. Don't forget, even if you go over, nothing's ruined because you're still in the "weight loss" range be it 20, 25, or 35%. So no worries...listen to your body's needs. Some days you may be able to go as low as 200, and other DD's may be 600. It'll still going to trend downward so never beat yourself up over it.

Thanks! (And how completely adorable is your little one?! Love the new avatar!) That information you posted is really good to know - I wasn't sure how much of a calorie buffer there was in WLM with JUDDD. I've been hovering in the same 238.8 - 241 range for almost a month now and still truly waiting to see if JUDDD is going to break me out of it in the next few weeks (or month). ::fingers crossed::

Today is supposed to be an UD, but my innards are in serious revolt. It may wind up being a MD despite my best intentions...which would make tomorrow an UD, I think.

Morning weigh-in: 238.4

Rayne, seeing you holding little Lyric made me realize how much I (sometimes) wish my own DD was still small.

They grow up SO FAST.

She is one of the biggest reasons I'm trying to get back to a healthy weight.

Omg, she's all grown up! What a beautiful daughter--you look so happy and sweet together. Yes, I got started very late in life--I was not planning to have a baby at 40! I called her my "Oops" baby for the first few months but then she grew on me and I upgraded her to status to a "surprise". LOL. She's about to enter her "terrible two's" so some days I'm ready to tear my hair out. I try to keep in mind what some mothers' have told me..."The days are long but the years are short". So yah, seeing your baby girl all grown up is a reminder of that. Lyric was also my inspiration to lose the baby weight because if nothing else, I now have to keep up with a toddler! Lol
And regards your UP day today, if you honestly can't make the cals because you're not feeling up to it, then a MD work and like you said, you could do an UP day tomorrow. Or, if your tummy's up to it, you can keep today an UP day by eating high fat/caloric foods. Totally do what feels right for you though. I'm so proud of you for really giving this a chance and not giving up just yet. Some people see results immediately and others it takes maybe a month or so, but the body will respond. It will. Keep up the good work!

"...but then she grew on me"

Ashley's Terrible Two's lasted until she was nearly 4. Miraculously I was never committed.

After my initial skepticism of JUDDD, it now just feels...right. Even with the GI weirdness (which is most likely due to the UUAD). I have a problem with too much restriction (which I felt on Atkins), and so far the DDs just don't feel like they're undoable. I also like the fact that I don't have to be beholden to various Frankenfood concoctions in order to eat somewhat normally. I'm grateful that, while keeping within the caloric restrictions of DD/UD, I can experiment to see what, if any, carb limits I need to maintain.

And, last but not least, one last Mama Braggin' photo of my Mini Me (the last one in the previous post was from 2010), taken about a month or two ago:

Juddd is very flexible that way...lots of wiggle room regards WOE within the up/dd calorie allottments. And thanks for the updated picture--she's so gorgeous. And the red hair looks awesome on her--She's rockin' it!

I looooved the red on her........which means she had to go and change it. She now looks like Kimbra. Last year she was a short-haired blonde. For prom, she and her date went retro -- she looked a lot like Ms Monroe, just stunning.

Ahh, she is such a Gemini.

Somehow was able to eat fairly close to my UD calorie goal yesterday, was about 300 cals short. Ate a pretty small dinner of leftovers (ham, sweet potatoes), but it was macadamia nuts for the win. Calorie-heavy little suckers.

Today will be my first happy-to-be-fasting DD, I think. Planning (for now) a few EAS shakes at 110 cals/each, tea, water, and maybe soup/broth/jello if my stomach permits.

Danke She is quite the chameleon (I know, I know, not everyone wants to see pix of my DD, but I can't help myself...someday I hope to share updated ones of myself!)...as she looks now (left), and right before prom last year (right):

Update on DD #4 (wow, has it really been that many?): I've been awake 7.5 hrs having ingested only one glass of orange Mio water and most of a can of SF Mtn Dew -- and I'm not at all hungry. Well, little nags from my stomach, but nothing that screams "FEED ME!!!" I keep thinking "wow, I really should eat something, right?" But I never seem to want it badly enough to get up from my work desk.

This is not normal...and I love it.

That's great that your DD is going so well! Like I said, some days will feel miraculously easy, while others...not so much! Enjoy it though...I love days like that. OT, I think it's great that your daughter is so adventurous and has fun experimenting with her hairstyles & colors--now's the time to do it! Lol Any green, blue, or purple yet??

Yes! Her current hair color is a dark auburn (I think?) with a few chunky streaks of dark blue...but the stylist didn't do a great job, unfortunately. We're in a bit of a desert as far as talented stylists are concerned. For talent, we have to drive 90 minutes to Indianapolis. Live and learn.

I was SO glad today's DD was as effortless as it was. My concentration level was markedly improved, and my anxiety was nil.

B: EAS shake (110)
L: Rice cake and Babybel (85)
D: Light chicken gumbo soup (150), 2 mini Alouette cheese (80)

Total: 425

And it was a menu I could probably repeat several times a month and not mind whatsoever.

Anyway, I have a huge pot of chicken/bone stock simmering away on the stove (the aroma is intoxicating -- note to self: never, ever, ever make stock on a DD), which will continue overnight. Plan to divide the stock and use some, with the cooked chicken, for chicken and herbed pâte ŕ choux dumplings later on in the week, probably UD Friday. Tomorrow's UD dinner will be chicken paprika, and UD Wednesday either falafel wraps or sausage-and-dill cabbage rolls.

For the week's DDs, we have a huge stockpile of soups, babybels, light laughing cows, celery, cucumbers, salad greens and low cal dressing, rice cakes, jello, shakes, and probably a lot more I can't recollect.

We're prepared!

Woke up to the lovely aroma of chicken broth still simmering in the kitchen, hopped on the scale, and just stared.

237.6

The 238 - 241 trap that I've been in since November 2nd is finally, truly, and honestly...over!!!

Carlton was THE reason I used to watch that show

In other news, just found out DH has to get up in the middle of the night to go back to work for inventory. Another kitchen showdown with my lovely-but-procrastinating DD means that dinner plans will need to change. Kids. ::sigh::

Thank goodness it's an UD.

Pizza time...but calculating calories on Fit Day is proving to be problematic. Will proceed with extreme caution.

The Bad: Betting I went wayyyy over my limit with the pizza...then again, I have no real idea how many calories were in it. I think I need to limit tomorrow's DD as much as possible to compensate.

The Good: I think I finished all of my holiday shopping (online, of course!).

The Bad: I also managed to buy $80 worth of tea. Even though two of them are for DH and DD, five (5) are mostly for me. Buying tea is one of my guilty pleasures, and I'd gone about a year since my last purchase. Well done, Rayne, now you need to get a bigger house, because there's no room for the new additions! Ugh.

The Good: The chicken stock turned out good...on the plain side, but still good. Currently reducing it before I portion it out.

The Bad: ADD was raging today. Mind completely scattered. Will be working til midnight, at least.

Today's DD didn't go exactly according to plan, but I'm ultimately ok with it.

B - EAS shake strawberry (100), 2 mugs tea -- one w/1 t half-n-half (12)

L - rice cake (35), light laughing cow (35)

D - (RAVENOUS) leftover chicken bean soup (140), sandwich flat (100), 2 oz braunschweiger (180)

Total damage: 602, which puts me between 25%-30% WLM

Yesterday's UD went haywire, thanks to macadamia nuts. Need to have DH hide them...literally.

11/28: 238.6
11/29: 239.2

Hoping to save all/most of my calories for dinner, which I'm thinking may just be some steamed broccoli with either a little butter and lemon or a bit of butter and parm. So far, lots and lots and lots of tea (raspberry quince black tea).

ETA: After wondering why I'm not hungry at all by now, it dawned on me that my tea contains hibiscus flowers. Quick google search later, and lo and behold -- hibiscus is an appetite suppressant. Well whaddaya know. I think this tea and my non-black hibiscus blends (strawberry, blueberry, and pineapple/lychee) will become a regular staple on DDs.

Thanks for stopping by, Danielle!

LOL yeah, not liking tea could pose a bit of a problem ...and hibiscus actually took me a while to appreciate, and I'm not exactly an herbal tea lover. Very tart, needs splenda or truvia to make it palatable. I'd first bought the stuff last year when I heard it could help with blood pressure (mine is 'borderline').

I'm just now beginning to feel real hunger, but when I take a few gulps of the tea it sort of keeps the gnawing aspect at bay. Actually the first time all day my stomach has really grumbled at all.

Btw, your first month on JUDDD has been amazing!

You're doing great! I wish I liked tea to help with the DD's. I LOVE the aroma of tea, I find it intoxicating actually. But then the taste never seems to match the intensity of the smell. I try every few months though hoping I'll acquire a taste for it because there's so many health benefits. You always make it sound so good too!
