Ladies, I am not hungry. It is the oddest feeling. I just did the grocery store to get dinner, and nothing appealed to me. Weird. I had no carby cravings, and needed no willpower to pass cakes and cookies by. So strange. I must be in ketosis (based on my last month of eating and yucky mouth). Is this how other people feel much of the time? I like it

Dawn, after I proclaimed egg fast, i didn't get around to doing it much. I have skipped "breakfast" (coffee w/hwc) because it's getting warmer and i just didn't want it, had my usual convenient 160 cal/5 carb shake for lunch and had eggs for dinner only one night because i didn't want to eat the other 2 nights. now i'm eating lettuce and steak for a Friday night feast. i grilled (i live alone so taking the time to do that is a big deal
) and have tons left over so am all set for tomorrow too. i actually do like eggs tho.how are things with you these days, my friend? |

I am doing well. I have been very busy this week and I thought that it would slow down. I haven't been on the site much this week because it has also been very nice here and I have been able to get some fresh air. It has been such a long winter and a horrible spring that having the sun and warmth was so welcome. Unfortunately the rain has begun and our 70 - 80 degree weather has left us with 50 degrees. I need sun!!!!! How are you?

i'm STILL amazed that we can chat from California to New York instantaneously! being outside is my very favorite...tho I prefer relaxing on the beach to mowing the back yard
![]() I am fortunate that I live only an hour away from the beach...and unfortunate that the grass and weeds in my yard need attending to! |

I live about 20 minutes from a beach but it is definitely not like yours in California. Lake Erie is no ocean that is for sure. Weeds.....well I have a lot of those. I would love to live in Florida and just visit a beach every day and sit and relax. I am so jealous of you.

i probably shared this already but am too lazy to go look...but the beaches near me are so exquisitely beautiful. in a less than 2 hour range I can be in Sausalito, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Monterey or Big Sur CA. There's a mega climate change in the different locations. Oh and FYI, mountain/woodland wonderfulness is just as close, and, in the other direction Yosemite National Park in all it's glory is less than 4 hours away.
i live in a little old house in a city/suburb surrounded by freeways...but i can play in nature's bounty! |

You are soooo lucky and I am so very jealous. The beaches here are full of rocks and I can see the beautiful city of Buffalo. LOL Oh yes we have the mega climate change here too. Today it was 85 and tomorrow 55!

i know i am lucky in that i live in an area with a most excellent climate- very mild winters; not humid summers; very, very few storms; no snow; lots of sunshine; most always comfortable temps - that's the good news. the bad news is that it's quite expensive to live here compared to many parts of the country. and it's a tad (!) crowded, and my tiny house is probably quite similar to those in old suburbs across the nation. but tonight, i hear no neighbors and no freeway noise and all is good
after talking about this i so want to go play tomorrow instead of doing chores! |

it's early evening and i have done some of each- working and playing. i pulled weeds and mowed the yard, shopped, went out to lunch, went to an amusement park, and now playing "mail" with three cuties. I bought four new suits, (size 4 Yay!!) today and may go back tomorrow for more because there was a big sale. the size 2s were too tight across the shoulders.
and, you heard it here first ladies, one of the suits is a skirt and jacket! ![]() ![]() and in the midst of my choice of black and charcoal and grey and pinstripe...the black skirt goes with a bright raspberry jacket. i love that color! i hate shopping, and took my 5 year old grandson along for company, so i went very quickly. lol! it was semi-fun, and i need a few accessories to complete the outfits. |

Christine, I am so excited! When the boys go home, I will probably try on the clothes. As you can imagine, with a 5 year old in the dressing room with me, I was quite quick
![]() You ladies will sooo understand this...I am 5-8 pounds from goal...and I FEEL fat. No way! Yep! Part of it is that I need to exercise to tone, part of it is that I have so much saggy skin, and part of it is that elusive "body image" thing that is challenging many of us. |

99% perfect! lololololol. i LOVE, Love, LOVE you, Youthfuliz! can you come live at my house?! An "in-house" cheerleader would be so great!
Seriously? I KNOW that I am blessed! I HAVE focused dayum hard on eating well/losing weight/getting healthy while dealing with majorly sucky life events in the last few years. I am "on the cusp" (Tuesday night ![]() ![]() ) of good things happening (hence the new suits) and I'll be better able to deal with it all because I am at a not-obese weight now. |

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. I'm about 8 to 10 lbs a way from goal and sometimes I forget where I've come from and what I've already lost. I'm still hanging in there with Callanetics and will measure again after 3 more sessions which will be after #20. I can't believe I've stuck with something this long already. I'm kind of one of those people that wants those "nonexistent" immediate results ---so I have a tendency to move from one thing to another before giving something a fair chance. You've already hit your May goal though and there are still 2 weeks left -- you go girl!!! Sharon |

hi Sharon
WoW for sticking with Callanetics! i really admire you for making exercise a routine part of your life. i'm pretty active but have found so many...um...reasons (excuses) for starting and stopping regular exercise. i'm so glad you came by to chat![]() Sunday breakfast is my favorite meal of the week. right now i'm enjoying an almond flour pancake and sausage. with hot tea. i'm avoiding hwc for awhile so skipping coffee. i have been really focusing on eating low calorie and low carb for a few weeks (and have deliberately missed a few dinners...sigh) and am getting good scale results. (134.0 before my pancake ) i do love me some cream in my coffee tho! Dawn, my SIL absolutely loves to play board games. he would have a good time at your family night. ![]() happy weekend friends ![]() ![]() ![]() |

check out my avi pic...that's where i was today. climbing rocks, walking on the beach, relaxing with the incredible view, enjoying the boys. Monterey is only about 75 minutes from my house. i wonder if i'd love it so much if i lived there? does anyone "get used to" what others would find stunning or exotic in their hometown area?
what kinds of places to do you like to go to, what do you see or do that's special where you live? do you like to be inside or outside? country or city? alone or with others? i ate plenty of extra calories today, tho i stayed quite low carb...so, a pretty good day food wise but i know i've earned a scale blip for tomorrow i am starting to trust that i won't get cravings from extra meat or nuts that will lead me astray. in fact, my cravings are at an all time low and i'm still doing relatively well with the extra hunger. some of you truly GET what a big deal these are for me. in retrospect i am amazed that i was able to lose any weight given the strength of the "pull of the carbs". does anyone else fight the urge to eat "just because"? are you winning? (sometimes i do) i WANT to eat even tho i'm not hungry, and it's not about wanting flavorbursts. lots of times i just WANT to eat. i use distractions, extra liquids, gum, movement, lettuce/cabbage/celery and they all help for a little while. what works best is to NOT have anything appealing to eat in the house. lots of reflections tonight...just right for a personal journal, don't you think? it's Sunday evening and i am going to set goals for the week 1. continue to participate in LCF. i really think it's helping to be more connected and more involved tho it does take time away from other things. in other words...YOU ALL are helping!!! Thank you so much ![]() ![]() (in fact i got the idea for small weekly goals here on lcf)2. continue daily weighing and recording 3. continue no hwc ![]() 4. don't buy anything good to eat ![]() 5. try to appreciate that this ol' grams CAN climb huge rock formations...and no small boys were harmed in the process...but dayum they are fast! 6. oh, and lose 1 pound ![]() i hope to hear from you soon, friends JanLast edited by JK130; 05-15-2011 at 05:46 PM.. |

Excellent goals, Jan!!! And congratulations on reining in the hunger. I know it's tough, and you are going to KICK BUTT this week!! So glad you got some exercise in; what a beautiful area! I took a long, long walk/run with friends today (two hours, ice cold hard rain at one point), but I think we covered over 7 miles!
Enjoy the remaining hours of the weekend! Did you put on your suits at home? |
