Nothing new Amber, work is the same Minnie driving me crazy. I so need this time off after surgery to regroup.

Do you remember back to early spring when I thought I had Gout and it turned out to be an infection in my big toe?..... well it's come back, I think it's my nail so off to the Dr Wed afternoon so I can get antibiotic to treat it... nothing is ever simple or easy with me.

Oh geez Laura, the toe too? Yes I think the time off although not great for your hand will help you mentally, I know you have been stressed beyond belief, a good rest is in order, when is the baby coming? It would be nice if you were off then!!!!

Amber thanks. Yeah I have been stressed, Minnie's mental state is really getting bad. I will give you an example of what I go through all day long, about 3 months ago she started picking at her face to the point of making herself bleed now her hands never leave her face. I tell her constantly to quit picking her face..she is putting holes in her face and nothing any of us do will make her stop. It has not only gotten on my nerves but the other ladies I work with. We are all at a loss as to what to do.

Laura, sweetie, tell her doctor about this. It's an OCD thing that has to do with her dementia. My mom who had Parkinson's did it too. I think there is something they can give her for it.

I went to the Dr yesterday and was put on another 10 day round of 4 times daily500 mg of Keflex with another script for Diflucan in case I get the flaming hoochie. She thinks it's the nail also and wants to get the infection cleared up before I go see a Podiatrist.

I am having the MRI tomorrow morning at 11:30 and then seeing a different surgeon at 1:15 so hopefully I will know the surgery date when I get home.

Could you get Minnie to wear gloves maybe that would stop the picking? Oh that must be terrible.

Lets hope everything gets settled with your surgery tomorrow then work on that toe, no flaming hoochie we don't need that again, LOL

Amber we have suggested it no go, the only thing we can do is tie her hands behind her back and I don't want or need jail time right now. lol

No I don't, she wrote me a script for 1 150 mg Diflucan just in case.

bah at the toe, but sounds a lot better than gout. Gout sucks. I predict no flaming hoochie. Amber used up ALL our doses of that so we should all be safe for a year or so.

Hi all, I just got home from the surgeon BUT I was there this morning at 10:30 so it made for a long day. I had the MRI...fell asleep for 30 mins while they did it, left to go to lunch, got lost found my way back and just sat in the car reading. My appointment with the surgeon was at 1:15 I was finally called back after 3 then I had to have ex rays done of my neck and elbow, I have bone spurs on my neck and my elbow. The Ulnar Nerve is trapped at the elbow so I have surgery next Wed. They won't put me under but deaden my whole arm...that ought to be fun. I came home with 3 scripts, 1 for Keflex, 1 for Vicadin and one for nausea.

So that was my day, I hope you all had better.

Glad to hear you are getting your surgery soon. I prefer they only do local. I don't like being out...I have a hard time getting out of it. Ughhh!!! Hate that feeling.

Laura- it is good though you can have this without being put out! That will make it a little better although I hate listening to them work when I am awake, LOL

5 days til you feel much better look at it that way! Then this will be behind you and on to the next problem right? It seems like the older we get the more crap keeps breaking down! Now my toe is all ingrown again, I gotta stop getting pedicures too I guess I don't know how they cut my nails that it keeps happening, but I wear sandals then I put on my sneaks to work out and it is killing me. I cant do to the doc or he will rip the whole thing off and I cant be without a big toenail for the wedding, LOL So break out the home surgery kit! LOL

I get ingrown toes all the time amber and its a bugger. I get to do home surgury every 2-3 weeks now. If i get a good pedicure it can delay my ministrations for a bit. I've tried cutting them the way the docs want you to, but man that so doesn't work. my stupid nail beds are to big for my big toes and having this problem as a kid was a nightmare.
