Thanks girls!

We had a blast swimming yesterday. Then we came home and BBQ'd. I ate chicken breast, salad and cantaloupe. Then for a dessert I had one of the WW oatmeal cakes I had made.

I'm so glad I didn't fill myself with junk food!!

Hey JC! I just read your post in the HB thread but I wanted to respond to it in here. I did Atkins on and off for 10 years. I would yo yo in weight alot because I was depriving myself of foods that I love. I would lose 40 or 50 lbs and then cheat and not get back on plan until after I gained back most of if not all the weight plus some. I would cheat then say oh well I might as well eat what I want and start again tomorrow or Monday.... ect ect. But with WW PP I can have a little treat and not fell guilty and not play the mind games I did for years on Atkins. I didn't want to try a new plan but my mom has been doing WW for years and she talked me into giving it a try. When I first started I said okay, I'll try it for 2 weeks but if I don't like it I'm going right back to Atkins. Well I tried it and loved it! June 7th will be my 1 year WW anniversary and so far I have lost 112 lbs!!! Anyway I just wanted to explain how I got to where I am today.

All that said, I know Atkins is great plan.... it just wasn't the plan for me. I really appreciate that all of you support me even though most are on Atkins or some other LC plan.

Wow! 112 pounds in a year is way beyond awesome!!!!!!!

I totally hear ya on the "mind games" thing. When I was on atkins in the past it was a big issue for me. Then again, I'm only a little over 6 weeks in on this round (my last I hope! ), so I have not had the time to get as "mental " as I'm sure I will !

The old adage is true: the best diet is the one you can live with and lose weight! I really liked the fact that with WW you could "cheat" and not be totally off plan. You know what I mean? No more "I'll start Monday and get back on then" stuff. And that there was nothing that I could not have in the right quantities if I wanted it. It also taught me a lot about the "is it worth it" concept. Like, was that item of food really worth 20 points when I only have 42 points in a day kind of thing.

I am so glad that you have found something that works for you. Everybody is different, and what works for one person might not work for another. I have to admit, I am really impressed with you dedication and will power. I just could not keep up WW . I think my system needs more fat in my diet. Then again, I also have blood sugar issues from my pcos and thyroid issues that might make my metabolic structure different maybe?

I hope I was not a downer!

You're not a downer at all! Amber, Sara, Danielle, Reva and a few others here seen the struggles I had on Atkins. I just wanted to share with you and any other posters that didn't know me before I started WW my story.

I have learned balance on WW PP. I have learned how much a serving size should be....And that if I pick the healthier food then I can eat more of it then if I waste my points on junk food.

Not offended at all! I know you weren't saying my way is wrong. You're just very excited about how you feel on Atkins and want to share it with the world. I'm very happy for you!

Right before starting WW PP I got really sick at work, I had a bad headache, was light headed and seeing spots. I went to the doctor and my blood pressure was high and he put me on meds. He told me if I were to lose weight I might not have to be on them the rest of my life. So I asked him what "diet" he thought was best and he said anything I can live with and do the rest of my life. So it has to be something that I can do FOREVER. I'm so happy to find a way of eating that I feel I can do forever! Oh and guess what, I'm no longer on the high blood pressure meds and my numbers are good.

Yep Nikki is a good example that the best thing is finding what works for you and we can never go back to eating like we used to. I am like you JC ---PCOS, insulin resistance, I still blow up like a blow fish when I eat carbs and it is still happening. Nikki is the WW role model!!!! SHe figured out what works for her and her body and keeps her going.

I did my first day on points yesterday. It is going to take some getting used to, but so far, so good! I like the new plan. It seems more healthy focused and I can see how I can still make it work while being carb conscious! I am going to have to start learning point values and recipes, etc. but so far I am feeling good about it. I love a new project!

Go Nikki! You are so close to being under 200.

I think you are exactly right about choosing something you can stick with for the rest of your life. I'm much happier mentally since I started WW PP and I feel like I'm doing what is right for me and for my overall health. My doctor scared me in April when she said my cholesterol was dangerously high. My dad has had 3 heart attacks and I don't want to end up the same way.

Congrat's on the new low lady! You're almost there!!!!

Definitely need to do something you can live with...and I have rebelled against it for so long even being insulin resistant...my body just feels sooo much better on low carb... but like we say, no two people are alike and that is the beauty of variation!

I would totally recommend getting the WW spoons. I'm not doing WW but I still love them!

Thanks ladies

I haven't posted my menu in a while so here it it is.

- 1 cup of cheerios, 1 cup of skim milk and a banana
- chicken, lettuce and tomato with lite mayo on a whole wheat flat bread
- cantaloupe and strawberries
- chicken breast, BBQ sauce for dipping and broccoli and cheese
- WW mini ice cream cone

I'm off work tomorrow, might go to Cato to look for a summer dress.

Okay I'm setting myself some weight loss goals.

By June 7th my 1 year WW anniversary I want to be 198.
By Aug 3rd I want to be 185.

I haven't been home in 3 years. But I am going home for a visit on Aug 3rd. That means I need to lose 16 lbs in 9 weeks. The scale doesn't move as fast as it use to so this going to be a challenge! I'm going to need y'all to hold me accountable for my workouts so I can reach this goal.

This morning my son and I are going to the pool, I will commit to doing 3 laps around the pool today.
