Snack adjustment!

Almonds instead of walnuts.

Walked over to the vitamin shoppe and bought the non-flavor l-glutamine and creatine caps.

My trainer recommended I mix one scoop of l-glutamine powder into my water or protein drink and consume after every workout.

The creatine caps will give me a pump to my muscles and for a couple of weeks may bloat me. (It's important I stay away from dairy, sodium, olives, and processed foods as much as possible. Also this means no booze is allowed during the first 2 week period.)

My Bodytech chocolate whey protein contains the amino acids I need and I no longer have to take as many BCAA's.

Have a flu induction type headache this am due to my cutting down on certain grains, fruit, and dairy.I feel better after eating my almonds though. For lunch it's my favorite meal of roast chicken!

Dinner is egg whites and my turkey burgers with some avocado on top.

Feels good to eat low carb or clean paleo whatever you call it after a night of a little too much carb debauchery. (I also did have my 49 points that I barely used this past week..so..)

Today's Menu:

B: 1/2 cup of egg whites, chocolate protein drink

Almonds and another protein drink for snacking

L: Chicken and salad

S: Egg whites, and finish off chicken.

What am I doing?

The plan I am following is a kind of clean paleo. I still eat according to my WW PP 29 dpt or I should say, I try to.

My trainer has had years of experience with fitness and sports nutrition. What I eat and the workout plans I follow are based on what my body requires. Below is a sample:

Lots of protein such meat, leafy greens, egg whites, olive oil, avocados, apple cider vinegar, almonds and walnuts. I also drink a protein shake at least twice daily. Not a big fan of eggs and I usually toss the yolks or buy cartons of egg whites instead.

I do not eat fruit (fructose inflames my appetite), flour or sugar. Other than the shakes I do not consume dairy. I am not to be trusted with cheese. I tend to overeat it. No grains.

After last night's carb debauchery, I finally know how my body doesn't appreciate the unneeded simple carbs and sugar. I feel as though I have a hangover.

Once I become closer to goal, I am sure I will slowly add in the complex carbs but I seem to manage pretty well.

Word to the wise. Snacks help! Especially hard-boiled eggs. Don't be afraid of good fats and protein.

My workouts include 20 minutes of cardio to start. She likes to get this portion out of the way and my whole body is full of energy to complete my weight training routines. Some say, it's better to do cardio after but I feel great doing it first. YMMV. And I do abs two to three times a week. Abs really do start in the kitchen!

Getting down to the last 30 days or so of my personal challenge. I am amazed even with the little bumps and blips along the road how much of a difference I can see after 12 days!

My menu is primarily going to stay the same but my workouts will change week by week to prevent burnout and boredom.

I feel like doing the happy dance.

The amount of energy is awesome! I just wish I didn't have to go to the bathroom 4 times a night because I drink over a gallon of water a day!

I didn't feel like eating the chicken for dinner so ate my egg whites with some avocado and a touch of hummus instead. Quick, easy and filling. Somehow I find myself loving these more than fried eggs these days. I get so tired of the yolks sometimes.

Very tired this morning. I must have gotten up at least 5 times last night to go to the bathroom. Drinking a gallon of water daily will do that to you, I guess. I'm feeding my body well, working out hard, keeping up with my written journal as well as here and trying to stay focused on the prize.

As I mentioned on the WW thread, I hate being this way. I let my weight creep back on me and let bad habits take over. I never ever want to do that again. I need to stay in control.

BRUINS WON!!!!!!! WOO HOO!I am going to pick up my championship hat sometime today.

I am a sleepy girl who has learned her lesson. Back to my regularly scheduled program of clean home cooked Paleo meals.

My biceps are a wee bit sore this morning from lifting a heavier weight than usual. Otherwise, it'll be an easy workout after work of cardio and some abs.

How many calories do I eat per day?

Between 1,220 and 1,400 calories. That is still too low for me considering the strength training I do. I guess what helps me is that my protein intake is over 120g daily. My body loves the fuel. The fat I consume is on the low scale since I do not eat red meat (occasionally prime rib or steak), I eat dark meat chicken usually during lunch, egg whites, almonds/walnuts and avocado. Unfortunately, my only vice is garlic hummus but I use very little of it. Shirlee would like me to stop eating it completely for now.

Since last evening's fiasco, I know not to eat tuna, cheese and mayo. I was very sick last evening. My body completely rejected it. And my lactose issues flared up again. Funny, how whey protein shakes doesn't do that? I usually use about 400ml of water instead of 8 ounces.

I love this statement and thought I would share:
If your willing to work hard, persevere, and pay the price...you can be anything you want to be in life...And don't EVER go after anything that you are not passionate about...be passionate with what you do in life...persevere, work hard...and live your life with INTEGRITY!!!

Got an email from Shirlee, looks like next week is going to be interesting. I am decreasing my HITT cardio to a maximum of 3 times a week and increasing the weight training routines.

Tonight I get to go home and rest my weary muscles and recharge.

Awoke with muscle stiffness and cramps in legs. My trainer was correct is stating I needed a night off and a good long rest. Woke up an hour ago. Had some breakfast..now drinking black coffee and heading out soon to the gym.

Today's Workout - 10 minute warm-up with a full body workout.
