This is me typing on the couch fully relaxed and happy after quenching my tired, hungry self with TWO helpings of sausage & peppers... 1 normally has me stuffed beyond all belief but the only thing I've eaten all day is a piece of fried chicken and some cole slaw, so 2 helpings it is. I must've taken in like 1/2 cup of olive oil among all that sauce LOL

I take great satisfaction in seeing how quickly my body dips into the 230's now. Definitely a fundamental indicator of weight loss; the temporary blip to the 240's was probably glycogen+water courtesy of the beer the other night. |

All in all I can say that Atkins is working for me, it's just taking a little bit longer than I was hoping. But then maybe not... 4 solid months and I'm down almost 30 pounds? I'll take it. |

Seriously. 30 lbs in 16 weeks is just under 2 lbs/week, which is healthy and effective for long term maintenance. You are doing an excellent job. Keep it up!

hellz yeah! I had some carbs before dinner too; some not-quite-dark chocolate (almost a whole bar of it) and two rounds of berries & cream. A treat to keep me happy for the rest of the week. Might do yoga one day this week and see what happens...

Carby day yesterday... scrapple for breakfast (has cornmeal in it), lots of LC ice cream (different brand, the SO Delicious coconut milk-based stuff), some dessert my wife made (w/ stevia, but had some flour and almond flour in it), etc. Today'll be much better. |

lol WTH? I have no idea where that came from... only carbs I had today was a small segment of dark chocolate after dinner? I went to sleep rather late though, wonder if that's messing with me. I do need to do some yoga very soon. |

ah you know what -- The pork rinds I bought the other day. Salty snack... all that sodium is probably causing some serious water retention. It's definitely time for yoga!

whew, I had some edema in my extremities earlier (well, mainly my right foot, due to standing in a weird position while doing something) and my whole body felt tense, I took some potassium pills I keep at work just in case, and finally finished some yoga at home. Much better. Hoping for a big loss of water tomorrow...

Lol now we're back in business! Weird water gain I had there the past few days... I suppose it makes sense as I sit around most of the day, for work and when I'm at home... all that lymph fluid just builds up. I feel crappy when it does, too. |
