I think those Atkins bars I keep snacking on at work need to go. Thought it would be a short phase, but um, I keep buying 'em... those chocolate hazelnut bars are so darn good. Last box I'm buying. |

Just read through your posts. Sounds like you are doing very well. I use excel to track and chart my progress. I've got a couple of tabs set up, one with a daily intake log (totals for carbs, calories and protein) with weight. Another tab that's a calender where I put my weight down M and F and then the charts. I do 2 axes so that I can plot a couple things at the same time in one chart. At some point in time I can post it. Pretty nice.
You're progress seems to be mirroring mine. I sat at 272 for a couple of weeks and then boom, down almost 8 pounds in a week. Now, I'm wavering around 263. I figure your body must have some internal adjustment to the loss. I agree with the loose clothing. That's happening as well. Scale isn't budging, but my wedding ring is now loose and my clearance to the steering wheel is increasing. I've lost inches too. So...it's coming off, just not so much on the scale. Can't wait for the weather to turn as well. I walk at work to a park nearby with a walking trail. At home, not so much. I prefer to do aerobics dvd's at home. Weekends we go to our property in the country and that's always good for long walks and some good, hard work cutting wood and building fires. ![]() Keep it up... you're getting there. I think slow works better for keeping the weight off for the long run anyway. It gives you time to adjust to the new "reality" of this WOE. |

Had a chimichanga last night--and afterward I could totally feel the insulin effect, as I felt antsy like I need to eat more even though I ate a whole bunch of beef+cheese/guacamole/etc. Ended up with a steak 'snack' later, and now steak for breakfast, with some pork picnic BBQ'ing (started it 8PM last night, up to ~165F internal temp right now, should be good by dinnertime!) |

Yeah this past week was a floater. Fact of the matter is I might cut out the berries & cream completely. Got rid of the Atkins bars, but the Breyer's lowcarb ice cream is still there (and my wife bought me more... LOL) so I should go easy on that too. Then again I had one of these weeks before I dropped a ton of weight last time so... maybe it's just how my body works!

![]() Hmm, last week's highest high AND lowest low were higher than the week before. That's not good, but it may just be from the carb creep that I've since dropped off. And I still haven't got around to doing any yoga ![]() |

Weird. Almost no carbs yesterday, was a bit dehydrated (working in a climate controlled datacenter and rode my motorcycle to/fro work). Although I didn't feel dehydrated in the mouth, just in the nasal passages, so maybe I'm actually not dehydrated. I got a sneaking suspicion my body's stockpiling water weight somewhere... My wife said yoga tends to drain the lymphatic system, which makes sense (I didn't realize the lymph system had no self-sufficient pump or muscle, it depends solely on your movement). Going to do yoga tonight. This will be an interesting experiment. Last edited by spirilis; 04-05-2011 at 03:22 AM.. |

Finally did yoga last night! Boy were my muscles tight... yargh. Will be curious to see if it triggers any kind of stall-break again like last time ![]() |

Wow I'm almost sure the Yoga had an effect, you don't notice it till the next day but I was hittin' the restroom like crazy today... and my muscles seemed to get even looser, tonight I rode my motorcycle out to the grocery store and I could lean forward to tuck my helmet behind the windshield (helps reduce noise a bit, but I don't ride like that all the time) with ease. It's very rare that I can do that without feeling all tense and pressured up in my back muscles. Just this past Monday I tried that on the way back home from work and I couldn't do it... muscles and abdomen felt too tense, couldn't stretch far enough to lean that far forward.
I guess my muscles like to stockpile tons of water, probably b/c I don't eat as much potassium as I should... that fills and tenses up the muscles and the Yoga helps to wring them out so to speak. We'll see what the scale looks like the rest of this week. I should do another full session of Yoga tomorrow night to help things along. |

Haven't done any followup yoga this week, might try to do it today... think I overdid warrior-1 and pulled a tendon in my right leg but it's healed up now. |

Had a LOT of food yesterday... 18 wings at BWW's, then later chipotle (bowl with black beans, steak, salsa, sour cream and guacamole). Need to do Yoga again soon. |

Alright, I must share this with the crowd because it's TOO DANG GOOD!!!!!
First off, Ralph's restaurant in South Philly is just amazing, and one of them finally wrote down the 100-year old recipes they use, some teasers are here: Ralph’s Italian Restaurant My wife's made the Sausage and Peppers dish twice now... this time around she made a double-batch, enough for a big dinner last night plus lunches for us today and then some more for tonight when I get home (she won't be around, but since she's a sweetheart she left me some gourmet cuisine )After having my pyrex bowl of sausage & peppers for lunch, the only regret I have is the fact that I don't have another bowl of it in my lunch bag for seconds ![]() Direct link to the recipes: Ralph’s Italian Restaurant (Sausage & Peppers) Ralph’s Italian Restaurant (Maranara sauce used in the Sausage & Peppers) |
