Observation to note:

Had 2 pieces of cheesecake last night in addition to 2 gluten-free buttermilk biscuits, dinner was a couple hours away and I was too damned hungry. Bicycling today, went about 5 miles I guess, felt lousy, dizzy when I got to my destination (2.5mi away, mostly uphill getting there) and generally lousy when I got back to work too.

LC + carb cheat + exercise the day after = FAIL.
Think I'm gonna rock the next 1-2 weeks clean for proper keto-readaptation.

Woo dang, had some genuine hunger there that sent me looking for food... luckily a coworker had some almonds. Turns out those hardcore bodybuilder guys also keep around "salmon in a pouch" for snacks. That sounds like a neat idea. I think I'm going to Costco tonight and get some protein snacks. These lunchtime bike rides stoke my hunger.

Totally forgot about this thread and article-- Why can you eat 2000+ calories in fat a day and lose weight?
The FIAF article from Peter at Hyperlipid. I read that LCF thread around 1 month after starting induction, before my epic stall and never bothered to try the intended experiment; cutting all fiber and carbs from my diet for a week or 2. Maybe I should give it a try!

Holy f*** man... I just can't get it together, my bicycle rides have become quite a bear! Can't muscle through like I could just a couple weeks ago. I still blame those carb-cheat days this week, and I think this is an anecdotal confirmation of Phinney's idea that carb cheats ruin keto-adaptation and take weeks to get back. I was definitely in ketosis this morning on account of my raging acetone breath...

Oh man, butter with lunch + my usual espresso w/ cream = bouncing off the walls high strung all afternoon & evening, driving aggressively like a jackass on the way home and generally surged metabolism. Also just got my new fancy burr grinder for coffee, trying some decaf w/ cream and it tastes so good.

Doing a minimal-fiber thing, so dinner was leftover chicken with some melted salted butter.

Bike ride for lunch, dropped off a letter at the post office and got sushi--yellowtail sashimi and an eel/avocado/cucumber maki roll, so a little rice there. My quads were not performing their best, both on the way to the sushi place and after... seem glycogen-depleted I guess? They worked OK at a moderate pace but there was no use trying to sprint or surge up a hill. I hit them with some intensity last night but it wasn't for very long, maybe I'm just not recovering very fast?

Post-major carb cheat, yesterday had two pkgs peanut M&Ms and in the evening several slices of gluten-free pizza with some ricotta pie... Yet this morning I'm smelling ketones on my breath, and my wife notices as well! My muscles were hungry though, so it's possible they soaked up all the carbs...

More carb cheating today, had ricotta pie for breakfast, no lunch, pre-dinner was more ricotta pie and a slice of GF pizza, then dinner was at some relatively cheap french-ish restaurant... corn chowder, a salisbury steak dish with mashed potatoes, and chocolate mousse for dessert. A rather short bike ride afterward to get the mail (which there was none, lol) and tomorrow I'm back to ketogenic diet with bicycling at lunchtime.
