Or even better, drink plenty of water and take some sea salt right before bed. This should prevent the electrolyte imbalance.

OMG Christine, I don't know what caused it! It was awful. Damn I hate getting older. I'll tell you one thing, I don't want to repeat that event, ever.

Sunday, I take a"potassium sparing" drug for hypertension. I've been told not to ever supplement potassium but I'll bet the ACV would be fine. It was really really awful. I've had them in my calves before but in my inner thigh and hip??? Yowza that was bad. I had actually done low carb Monday and Tuesday and it could be I was dehydrated...I try to drink enough water.

I am sorry. Gosh, I do not take any drugs and this has happened before to me. It was probably when I was dehydrated. I used to drink water like once per hour and I think that once you begin this type of water regimen that it is something that your body becomes accustomed to. I could be wrong. One time I woke up and literally felt paralyzed. I thought I had been bitten by a spider and it scared the living daylights out of me.

Better in the head.....

Hi Sunday! Yesterday I took all of my supplements (D-3, fish oil, cranberry, magnesium, C, multi and pro-biotic). I made an effort to stay hydrated and slept without incidence.

3 solid days back on track and whether or not I've lost water or fat, I feel mentally better and more in control. This is huge. I keep telling myself to get outside and walk! I'm not moving enough, and I know it's move it or lose it.

Today's menu is still hiding away in my head, but I'll coax it out shortly and get my plan going. For now it's Coffee and hazelnut SF creamer. That's all I need to get by.

Resistant Starch

Sunday~ I just spent the last 10 minutes reading about Resistant starch on the PHD thread. Very interesting! I think I want to get some unmodified potato starch (if I can find it). Satiety is always an issue for me, if this can help with satiety among other things, I'd like to give it a try. Just between you and I~ Do you think the Hi-Maize RS is a good idea, since it is made from a grain? I don't know. What does Jaminet think? I didn't want to pose this question on the PHD thread as some are raving about Hi Maize RS and I don't want to burst anyone's bubble.

I have often wondered how fresh corn can be a grain...is it because it must be cooked to eat it? Right now (the last few days) the only "grain" I'm eating is my GF bread (white rice flour, tapioca & potato flour, potato starch) and occasionally small amounts of cooked rice. I believe, IMHO that the addition of other grains (corn tortillas etc) will always throw me off track and into the "out of control" zone. I've only had one piece of bread (yesterday morning) and 1/2 cup of rice (Monday night). I won't eliminate these foods because it makes me feel sane to have to know I can have them.

Blonde, some of the diabetic folks need the Hi-Maize due to having issues with potatoes. I think it is interesting because PirateJenny says that she is going to start using both and will report back the results. I found that if the PS works the same and actually, it has more RS than the Hi-Maize, why not stick with Gluten Free?

Today's Menu:

B: 1/2 eggbeaters southwestern (60)
1 2% cheese slice (50)
1 piece GF toast w/ butterspray (60)
3/4 cheddar-bacon angus patty (350) When I saw how many calories were in the patty I gave the rest to the chihuahua...who admittedly can use the extra calories. So, big breakfast today.

L: A variation of yesterday's cream soup made with Normandy veg, almond milk & tomato sauce. The veg are already cooked, I need to reheat, blend and eat. About (120) calories.

This leaves 520 calories for snacks and dinner. That's a lot of leeway. WOOT!

I'm off to Sprouts for more GF bread and BRM potato starch, then Costco for birdseed (no, for my birds, silly).

I got my BRM unmodified potato starch at Whole Foods. It wasn't terribly expensive by Hawaii standards. I'm always excited when I don't have to order something!

I am anxious to see how everyone else fares. I am on day 4 and so full that I really can't eat. I have only had 2 tbsp. today! I feel good otherwise.

Um......I think I ate my 520+ for lunch. However, I can still have my soup for dinner! At least my body doesn't think I'm starving it...

I so hope the satiety works for me!! I'm crossing my fingers. Still haven't got the BRM yet, but I also still need birdseed...I better get it tonight.

Yes, shipping can be a challenge. Netrition is off the charts. Amazon will ship most things, but not everything. I do a lot of shopping when I come to the mainland!

Too much food is...too much.

SeaBreezes...but how lucky you are to live where you live! I've never been. Maybe....someday.

Today is a very exciting day. Yep it's Mammogram Day. I get to go have my 'considerable' tatas mashed for the sake of well....health? It's not as heinous as it used to be, one does get used to the experience (after so many times) and the people at Sharp are marvelous. I've even learned after all these times, if I say 'ow' sooner rather than later, they'll stop with the smashing sooner. It's a good time. Can I get a 'what what'?

Yesterday after lunch my BFF and I did some junk shopping or 'antiquing' if you will. I found a lovely old crock to put in my bathroom, to hold magazines. Perfect size and water proof. I also snagged an old purple bottle with kind of a cool shape. I brought it home and put it next to my other purple glass. It's such a joy to spend time with her. We've been friends for decades.

My wonderful DH took me to the Casino last night. We went straight to the Buffet in the non-smoking section. He wanted to eat there, I...not so much. I'd already had too many calories at lunch but this is a man who never wants to eat out, so I went. I ate. I came home. I was miserable for hours. It wasn't that I ate so much, it's that my food did not sit well at all. He went to bed, I stayed up too late, in misery... until I felt I could lie down. When the alarm went off at 5am I got up, still completely full from dinner. I told DH I felt like everything I ate...was still in my gut. I still do. 2 hours later, after three glasses if iced water and two cups of coffee. I can't imagine eating, anything...ever.

So ...now...I'm off to shower and NOT put on any antiperspirant or perfume. Apparently it messes up the ex-ray.

BTW~ Happy Friday!!

Interesting. Have you started the RS? Because the feeling that you describe is exactly what the RS is doing for me. I am not hungry at all when I wake. In fact, last night I was not hungry for dinner. It is almost like I have just eaten and not just a small amount either.

Nope, not yet. I'm getting it today. How do you use it? Morning? Once a day? Inquiring minds want the exact results you are getting.

1 tbsp 3 x per day at about an hour before eating. I took the 1st dose at 9 am and then 2nd about 12:00 pm and last about 5:00 pm. I will give myself a day off every few days. I am betting you will be able to tell if you need a day off.

The mammogram is over, thank goodness! Yikes, the lady was nice but she made me squeak a couple of times. Hold my breath?? Who can even breathe under those conditions? Glad it's done, though.

Got my unmodified potato starch at Sprouts. I figured I would start with one tablespoon about an hour before dinner. See what happens.....

I really need a nap but I don't think that's going to happen....

Yes, we love living here. San Diego is lovely, too. My uncle was stationed at Coronado when I was a child. We lived in Glendale at the time so I would spend a lot of time with my cousins. He eventually retired to Rancho Bernardo.

Hope the mammo results are good.

Happy Mother's Day. I assume you will spend it with your children. We are going to my favorite place for dinner.

Good Morning Ladies!

Christine, no naps for the wicked but I was in bed by 9:00, read for awhile and only had a couple of hot flashes last night. I'm reading "Under the Dome" by Stephen King. It's real nail biter.

Seabreezes~ I love Coronado! We go there for a drive and hang out at the beach, just down from the Hotel Del Coronado. When my children were small we would ride bikes with them in their little carriers...it's mostly a flat island. I know Rancho Bernardo too. It's really nice there. The landscaping is beautiful.

Happy Mothers Day!

I had my 1T of potato starch with 8 0z of almond milk. The potato starch is a resistant starch that is supposed to be good for the gut and also curb the appetite. We'll see. This is an experiment in process (as are most things I do with food).

Busy day today. DH had a gig in El Cajon, and we a have birthday party to attend tonight. I need to pick up a gift and get my toes painted. Warm weather has arrived in San Diego.

Blonde,

Dropping by to see how you are doing? I completely dropped RS yesterday and will only be doing it 2x per week. I think I may be one that has to take it slow. I had no hunger whatsoever Sat and just began getting it back on Sunday. I can see how this may work wonders for fasting as in ADF or 5:2.

Thanks Christine, I did! The only fly in the ointment was the 98 degree temperatures on Sunday. And it's expected to be hotter today! It was 25 degrees above our usual temp for this time of year. I'm not ready for summer yet.

That's an amazing result Sunday. I would def consider using it as an ADF tool. I skipped yesterday and took it twice on Saturday...I can't tell yet if it's going to change my appetite. On another note, when you told me you were sending me a big whopping Mother's Day wish, all I could think of was driving through Burger King...for a Whopper.

Lots of wine yesterday, good BBQ put on by the kids...I made a HUGE ambrosia salad and not one bite was leftover. It was really hot but there was air movement so at least a warm breeze was blowing.

No work until Wednesday, what am I going to do with myself?

I talked on the phone forever with my DD. Spent quite a bit of time relaxing & sleeping all day. I don't know why, but Sunday usually means nap day for me? Didn't work in the garden, but should have because it was gorgeous here. 78 degrees.
