Thank you Dani~ I'm going for it! DD today and I'm mentally prepared. I'm planning to not eat until dinner. I've had my coffee so from now until D-time I'll have water and club soda and green tea. Tonight's meal plan is Chicken and salad. That is all.....

I really feel like I could go back to bed this morning but the girls are coming in an hour. DH starts his week's vacation after work today and he's pretty happy. Next week he'll be home and I hope he's okay with the girls being here, at least until we leave on Wednesday for our little vacation.

DD the elder is making rumblings about her DH and the possibility they may go separate ways when their lease is up in June. That's upsetting, of course. I mostly worry about the girl's reaction...being from a 'broken' home myself. The sad part is it's the same type of break-up. He won't stop drinking, she's fed up. I feel my own father left us for booze...and lived to regret it it his whole life. I hate to see that happen to my DD's family, I love her DH like a son. But~ We make our choices. We live with them.

Good plan in place!

I guess the bigger question to DH being home with the kiddos next week is...will you be home to save him and protect him? Your lil trip sounds like so much fun!

Wow, I am really sorry to hear about your DD. That's a tough place to be in especially with young ones. The best part is tho is kids are so incredibly resilient. Hopefully if she stands her ground and sees the split through her DH will wake up and he will make the effort. Grew up around alcoholism too and it is no walk in the park...and I'm sure it's doubly hard to watch your kids go through it.

Have a wonderful day my friend! Any fun plans on the books?

Yes, I'll need to protect DH from the kids...

Plans today are to shop for the rest of my supplies for Easter Brunch. I still need a few things, so I'll be dragging the girlies around with me. They hate to shop, can you believe that?

I've been thinking about my long term plan for eating and surviving while losing weight. For example, you know those days you can't do your down day for whatever reason? TOM or extra stress or just being beyond hungry? IF I should encounter this issue on a DD, I will eat WW no points. That means fruit and veggies only. If I'm really in need of food then these will be acceptable, otherwise I'm not really hungry at all. If I'm making it through oaky then I'll have my regular dinner. It really helps to plan for contingencies. Anytime I've messed up badly it's because I had no plan. It's hard to add up the calories if you're only eating veggies....

I see you read my 'rant' this morning on the other web...I was talking to my SIL, but he won't get it, more than likely. My parents too, so much drama, way too much for kids to comprehend.

Love the "contingency plan".. Brilliant, really. Sometimes I get so aggravated having to think about this so much, so long, all the time, relentlessly..but in the end, it's exactly what I need in order to keep going and being successful. Annoying, but true.

I figured as much about your SIL and that was awesomely stated.
Drama...I am so. tired. of. drama. Just trying to survive in my own little part of the world and people just don't get an effing clue.

Haven't a clue what the plan is for our Easter meal.. DS, at some point, is going to have to head back to campus that day..he's also driving 3 other boys who didn't have a ride to Scottsdale from school.. so who knows what we'll do! We aren't a very traditional family when it comes to big family meals..

You think I'm brilliant? Actually. I ate around 500 calories of zero point veggies yesterday (including an all veg soup and one small red potato). Yay! I'm so sorry for all the drama on your end. I think my rant went unnoticed over here but it was good for me. Tradition has no place in our Easter Brunch, just an excuse to get together and have Mimosas! My big day is always Thanksgiving.

Hi Christine! Thank you. It's good to have a plan, and if that doesn't work - have another plan, and if that doesn't work.... infinity. I have to eat and I have to lose weight, so maybe this will help me out.

Yes Sunday, a mini-vacation! Wednesday and Thursday night, then home on Friday afternoon. I love this place, it's so pretty, has half a dozen outdoor spas and a ginormous pool with waterfall. The rooms are nice, the food is okay and we are all alone. The best part. We're taking the roadster!

Yes you're brilliant!

Proud of you for killin it yesterday, that rocks!

Rants can be so therapeutic, glad you did it. On my end; kinda sad that it's come to this, figured the little one to be alot stronger than this..can't say that I am truly that surprised, however. I think we always knew there was this possibility. Question now is do I cut her and the hubbs off from my page..can't really see a reason to allow them any access to my life.. especially when there's some pretty hostile views on their part. And very apparent that it's been felt that way for quite some time..

How far away are you traveling for your getaway? I love road trips!

Hi D~ about an hour for the road trip, but there are nice hills all around and great for driving the Z. DH loves!

There are two schools of thought on cutting people off. You can block them and that is all. Or you can keep them and let them observe your happiness. It's up to you sweetie, however you want to handle it. I'm on your side.

Are you getting in a massage while you're there? sounds like a great place!

Regarding "the block"..I'm torn for the very reasons you stated. And I'm in that place because I can't seem to decide if I feel like anyone who can't support me has a right to "spy" and lurk..then report back to enemy lines. Therapist had suggested couple years ago cutting off the others when things were in the *hot potato* territory.. I'm torn.

Danielle~ Lurkers and spies only get to...lurk. and spy. The other course of action is to give the lurkers an earful in the context of a NOTE. Post it, say it all. They'll have no choice but to read it. It may be your opportunity to have your say without interruption. The more I think about it, the more I like that idea!

No massage except from DH. He's the only one that I would allow to handle my flesh. Eww.

Just prepped the Baked French toast for tomorrow, I'll add the Praline topping and bake in the morning. Gonna be a good day, I think! It's almost midnite but one more thing...We drove to the Carlsbad Flower Fields today and saw the 10,000,000 blooms. What an amazing sight!

Blonde! Where is this wonderful place you are traveling?!?! It sounds amazing.

Dani, I don't know your situation, but believe like Blonde that a note can be very therapeutic to yourself and serve a purpose that goes beyond the words and thoughts in the note. Something to think about.

I have one such person that I blocked (made my page invisible) and never accepted her friend request. I do think that in my case it was necessary, she was never a friend nor family. She only came into my life to harm me and my family. Why would I allow her access to my FB page and even the ability to know anything about me?

Happy Easter to all who celebrate! Enjoy family and friends.

Girl, I totally hear what you're saying... honestly I gave her an earful already when the drama was happening last week.. she knows I know what she's said & how she feels.. she now knows exactly how I feel too. She's even been enlightened to past drama that never concerned her but felt compelled to insert herself anyways. I also think that she was surprised by a few tidbits and very well could be regretting some of her assumptions..I can only hope someday she'll start to see the bigger picture for what it is.. And I'm sorry, but not interested in being scolded or "prayed for" by her husband so I'd just as soon not talk to him. I've proven and shown my happiness over the last couple years for her to see (and report back, I'm sure) and I believe it truly is a sore spot since she mentions my being happy several times in her rants to DD16.

DH is the only one to give me massages too..I cringe at the thought of going somewhere.. I am lucky, he gives me one nearly every night.

The trip to Carlsbad sounds lovely! Picures? Always wanted to visit there.

Sunday, thank you for your input. I totally feel that the only reason she and her dh haven't said anything about having issues with me over the course of the last couple years simply to be "in the know".. I'm over it. And like you said, why allow someone to have access to your life or the ability to know anything about you... My "family" doesn't know me anymore so I'm done giving a front row seat view into my life.

Hello Lovelies! Busy a$$ day to day, I just got off work, my lunch shift was slammin'.

Sunday the place we're going is a Harrah's Hotel and resort on an Indian reservation in San Diego County. It's the nicest of all the Casino/Hotels here and far enough away to feel like a real vacation! I can hardly wait!

Dani~ I gather you have opted to BLOCK. In view of everything that's happened I totally understand that. Man I hate family feuds, I haven't been in one in a long time, mainly because the main trouble makers have croaked off. What a thing to say.....

Yesterday's Brunch was really good. I made the most incredible Baked French toast! It was a Paula Deen recipe and came out gorgeous. The topping was praline and came out brown and crunchy and sugary, the inside was just like french toast. It was neither low calorie nor did it have any redeeming social value, but boy howdy it was GOOD! My DD's husband made a 'seafood' quiche that no one would eat. It looked really pretty but it had this smell. He took it home and threw it over the back wall for the critters. At last check, the critters wouldn't eat it either. We all had a big laugh over that one. The other quiches were YUM, bacon & spinach, broccoli & cheese, and bacon, tomato and leeks. Now that I'm making myself starve I will mention the muffins, maple bacon, sausage, pineapple upside down cake, cheese cake and orange juice.

One of the best parts of the day is game my 7 year old granddaughter wanted to play. It was called "my Grandma's Underpants". The first player asks the person to his right, a question. The answer to the questions HAS to be "my grandma's underpants'. She started the game and asked her Dad, "what did you have for dinner"? I thought I would bust a gut. The one rule is, the person being asked is NOT allowed to laugh, or they're out. Well we were all out immediately, every question got worse and worse, more and more gross until we laughed ourselves silly. I had to use my inhaler.

Today is an all veggie/fruit day. Gosh I wonder why? Work was ultra busy and long, I made good money. End of my story for the day.

The Harrah's here is the best we got too.. haven't ever been but we keep on trying to! Every time we think about going, there are either no rooms available or the days we choose the rates are upwards of $150 or more.. For that, I'd rather go to Vegas!

I didn't "block" per se..just delete. Page is locked down to the public so they won't see much otherwise. No, blocked would be the other 2 siblings.

Ummmmmmmmm on the fishy quiche....

So glad that the day was a giggly-laugh-so-hard-I-need-an-inhaler kinda day. Those are fun!

Hi Dani~ We booked in the middle of the week so rates are smokin' good. Both nights for 142 (including taxes etc). Sometimes I jump on there just to see and rates are crazy high. It's a crap-shoot I guess. Pun intended. We have the girls today, they are talking DH's ear off! Usually it's my ear so I'm okay with that. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. I'll probably be off grid for a few days. Things are better for you now?

Allergies are trying to get me, my trees are blooming and tree pollen is the worst for me. It is a beautiful day though and I'll go out in a couple of hours after the bees have cleaned up the mess.

I tried to post a pic of the flower fields and it was too big! I'll try to make it smaller and see if I can get it on here. It's so pretty!

ohmygosh! The DSIL's quiche!!! Like Dani, I laughed out loud!

Blonde, Anything by Paula Deen has to be amazing! Your game is one that we used to play when I went to summer camp as a child. I loved it and your story brought back fun memories.

I wish you a wonderful trip! Enjoy & relax!

Dani, Keep standing up for you dear! I am sending you hugs for whatever this craziness is. I have crazies in my fam. I have thought about quitting fb just so that I don't have to be reminded we are related.

Thank you Sunday! I'm happy to be doing something fun with DH, I've been in such a funk lately. I'm much better now.

I've been having a hard time with WW but I know it's a good idea for me, so I've been having an all fruit and veggie day, every other day. It comes to about 6 points if I add potatoes and a couple more for my morning coffee. I'm guessing at 500-700 calories depending on my choice of fruit and having a potato. It's working really well for me, I don't feel deprived and I feel a little less of a noose around my neck on the alternate day.

Love those killer deals! We did a stacation here a little over a year ago at a nice hotel for like $59..totally made it worth it since we got to gamble, drink, and people watch all night!
Vegas we got for $49 both nights and that was going on a weekend! Must get back there soon!

Poor DH I hope he has ears left when the girls are done with him
I have a good giggle when I picture DH & I are left in charge of the grandkids some day!!...poor poor hubby.

Things are meh over here but I'll live.

Have a great time!

Sunday~ thank you! Sad that by actually standing up for myself is exactly what most of all this pitiful sad excuse for manipulation and hatred is coming from. I refuse to apologize for being strong, capable, and able to keep moving forward.

Hello my LC friends! Back from Nirvana...sort of. I'm so lucky in love that I can't win a dime playing slot machines. Considering how often I gamble I guess it's better to be lucky in love!

Believe it or not, I didn't go crazy with the food while I was gone. We did buffet one night, breakfasted at a nice little Mexican Cafe and brought lots of fruits ans healthy snacks to the room. My scale has not been replaced but the broken one says I'm holding steady at 213. I'm really happy to be home, funny how that works. Today is an all fruit and veggie day. This seems to be working well for me, I don't feel deprived and my alternate days are a little easier for doing it this way. Hope you all are doing well!!

Yay you're back!

I can't win anything to save my life whenever we go to the casinos anymore.. I used to be quite the lucky girl but the last few years..not so much. Now we go with the expectation of doing other things and not really gambling.. DH has no patience for slot machines..it's actually quite comical to watch him

Glad you had a good time. Did you get to relax and be out by the pool? Any fun little drinks with the umbrella in them?

You've definitely found a style of eating that works for you, I knew you would! I'm willing to bet that you're actually lower that what your old scale is saying...any plans for a new one?

Enjoy your time back home this weekend. Hoping there is no work involved?

Hi Honey! Yeah, gambling es no bueno for me. No worries though. Not so much pool action, just a little jacuzzi use. The pool was filled with children (spring break) so we avoided it. Went for a really long ride in the Z car on the 2nd day, The weather was perfect. I was up until 3:30 am Friday morning...that's close to my getting up time! Friday I was a bit zoney because of it. Last night I was in bed at 9:30 and got up at....9:30 this morning. Still having casino dreams. All the ching clang chime ding gets into your brain and won't go away!

Yeah, that scale thing...I do plan to replace it, I just keep forgetting! Every time I come back from Wallyworld I slap my forehead! DOH! I forgot to look at scales!

The eating thing is better right now. In doing the veggies, I can have a little bit more on the other days. I hate deprivation.

How about you?

Ugh, that's the worst..a buncha brats running around when you're there to relax.. Of course I can say those things since my brats are grown

Funny about the bells & whistles that is the casino!.. I get that way after every concert..where I literally hear the show again at all hours and I don't sleep.. Especially P!NK..I don't think I slept for 4 days My ears rang for over a week too!

I don't envy you on the scale shopping..well, you know what a traumatic experience that whole drama was for me...For awhile I truly thought I'd be scarred for life!

Deprivation is not in my vocabulary.. I'm glad that the veggies help so much. I wish I could get excited about vegetables to eat what I'm probably supposed to be

I made BPC this morning.. very tasty indeed. Needs more mixing next time, but now I know that when I whir it the thing is gonna go all tsunami in the cup Bigger cup next time!

I am glad you are back Blonde! I hear the cling/clang ding ding ding in my head too. I have had a long period of staying away from casinos since the one and only time I won a big pot and then proceeded to lose half of it in the same night. Losing is my middle name except for when it comes to weight loss.

Mornin' Girls~ I have been suffering the head cold from HELL...I'm alive and I'll write more later, thanks for checking on me....me thinks the casino smoke was the trigger...it's been heinous.

Hello...feeling better this morning but I spent Monday Night in the ER. The asthma got so bad my nebulizer wasn't working anymore. Three back to back breathing treatments, prednisone, chest exray and 5 hours later we arrived home at 4:30 am Tuesday morning, exhausted, shaking (treatments) but breathing better. We decided maybe we should stay out of casinos for awhile, I really do think the smoke was the trigger...it was pretty bad in there.

I feel bad for being absent for so long, out of touch with my friends here. Food wise I'm still following the every other day all fruits and veggies and to be honest my appetite has been nil. Of course that could all change after 5 days of prednisone. I got on my wonky scale this morning and registered 209.4. A new low. I don't know how correct that is, but I'll take it for now.

No work for me this week. I need to go easy and catch up on some sleep, get better and recharge. DD the Younger's house closed escrow and she and her DH are now homeowners! I'm so happy for them. They now have a huge back yard and I'm thinking I may see a little less of their dogs. Yesterday I had two sweet chi-wahs on my lap, keeping me warm and comfy. That was nice.

I wondered where you wandered off to. I'm sorry you had to go through all of that hospital business. Glad you're feeling better though!

Glad you're off this week, taking care of you comes first! Hooray for DD and her house! That is exciting stuff!!!!

Awesome number on the scale!

So glad you are feeling better Blonde! It is a shame that smoke could do that much irritation. Wishing you and fam much better days!

Hi Girlies! Thanks for the love. Sunday some people can do smoke but because I was a smoker on and off and was raised in a house of smokers I have sensitive lungs and asthma. Apparently it can make me sicker than I thought. Dani, I've felt pretty awful this this week, short of breath and lethargic. Yesterday was better and I'm hoping today will be even better. Side effect of a severe asthma attack and prednisone? I'm dreaming that I'm having an attack and wake up gasping for air. This blows.

Yesterday I made an enormous pot of veggie soup (enough to eat all weekend). It was a veggie day yesterday and frankly I haven't been hungry. Weird considering what steroids usually do to me. It would seem that I'm back on JUDDD with a PHD twist. Eating fruits and vegetables seems to satisfy me in a way I wouldn't have believed. I do eat potatoes as well on these days and they are completely satisfying. I don't feel deprived, I'm not counting calories but figure I'm doing 400-700 max on days that I'm really hungry but haven't had one of those in a while. On my UP day, I record my points and don't worry too much about going over for the day. My DD points are probably around 6-7 (potato points mostly). I'll do this until it I don't.

Going to make DH his breakfast, then back to bed for an hour os so of hopefully dreamless sleep.
