You know one day at a time is it. And I am in a good place which is so crazy to me because I was feeling so lost and miserable for awhile. Sometimes it's like butting my head against a brick wall and my head is thicker. I'm a Capricorn and if you know astrological signs, then you know I'm the Goat. In some ways I'm so timid about things but if there's something in the way, between me and what I think I need, I'll push until it gives it up. I guess that's a good thing, right? Never give up, Never surrender!

Fellow Capricorn goat here! And you are spot on! I have a fear of so many things yet now and again it would take an act of God to keep from something I want or need! That's why they say stubborn as a goat! We keep on keeping on.

So glad you are in a good place. I think weight loss journeys for some of us are like the tide. We ebb and flow. Sometimes we ebb for a longer amount of time but eventually we start to flow back.

I think I'm in a good spot too. Definitely better. Still rethinking what plan to follow. Might just change plans every few weeks just to keep from getting bored or frantic. But for now I JUDDD with higher calorie DDs

Blonde, I can relate to feeling lost. I was like that a few months ago. Trying to convince myself that I was "ok" with where I was at physically Feels really good to feel in control again! Have a great day

Laura that was a great post! I should have known you were a goat too! Having a focus, or plan or goal is the way to keep moving forward in life. I'm glad you are feeling more positive, work it girl!

Danielle, I know! I was worried when you were gone so long but I totally get it too. I'm so glad we all have each other to lean on.

Christine you were gone for awhile as well and I'm happy you're here with us! I don't know what makes us walk away but it means so much to be able to come back, unjudged, and have such wonderful support. I wish we could all go out for drinks and talk all night!

I have good news to report! I have lost 5.4lbs this last week. The bad news is that I was UP when I started, not 215 but 219! SO, I now weigh 213 which is WAY better than 219. I'm just gonna keep counting the calories for now, but I've been so hungry!

WTG on the loss!!! And I can imagine you were a little hungry! Your calories were on the low side - try upping them a bit this week and see how you feel.

I think this week I'm going to count straight calories. The weekend was a bust and I went bananas and I need to do something easy this week. Of course, easy is to just not count anything! Bwaaaaaaa!

Stirring up any good DD recipes lately Blonde, you seem to have some good ones? I could use a few "simple" ones without alot of ingredients in them. I guess the ingredients would be few because they are only 500 calories and I have been used to that so what do you have, please share.

Hey Everyone!!

I've been in Arizona this week, Prescott Valley and haven't been anywhere near a computer! Thanks for the kudos! I did get in some exercise, alot of walking. We went to Jerome and the whole town is built on the side of a mountain 6000 feet up. A bazillion stairs and uphill streets, but I had a great time.

Of course calorie counting went out the window, I was visiting family and those southern women know how to cook! No biggie, I'm back on it and decided to skip my Friday weigh in so I'd have no excuse to keep eating badly.

I hope you're all doing well!

Maggie~ I had some go-to foods like Southwestern eggbeaters, light bread toast, LOTS of salads with Walden Farm dressings, salsa and chicken breast, and AdvantEDGE shakes which have about 110 calories each. Boiled eggs are also filling and BIG stirfry veggies with cabbbage, carrots etc. There is a link for DD foods only with great ideas for low cal. I'll find it for you.

Oh Maggie, I saw your post regarding "cabbage"...and here I went on and on about cabbage...sorry.

I'm doing well, still on the calorie count regimen. It's been a challenge with DH home but I'm managing. I've been incorporating LOTS of veggies and salad cause you know they have a lowest calories so good for me in both ways. Back to work tomorrow, boo, but DH is going as well. Went by way too fast.

Monday morning, June 25th, 2012~

Wow, is it quiet around here....DD, SIL and GD's are firmly planted somewhere else...along with their little 2lb chihuahua. I still have the cat (hopefully he'll go with today) and two old dogs that weigh about 70 pounds each. The dogs are staying, they have no place in a condo and my one 75 pound dog would be lonely if they left. Sure is quiet around here, and...I'm not sure I like it. DH on the other hand is ecstatic to have his house back but you know men. They don't get it.

Went for a long ride yesterday, up in the Cleveland National Forest, racing behind my bestie and her husband in their roadster (BMW Z4). They know the mountain roads by heart (living there) and thankfully DH is a good (but cautious) driver. It was a little like a roller coaster ride, thrilling, sickening, scary and exhilarating all at once. Spent some time in a couple of antique/junk stores and bought a few things for the garden. It was a good day.

Today...it's quiet. I need to vacuum and dust and clean the bathrooms and, you know, busy boring work that will only be satisfying until the next time, which will come all too soon because I have a houseful of shedding dogs, a kitchen that's never still, and I live 1/4 mile from the rodeo grounds so the dust never stops flying. But~

Summer's here and for the 27th year in a row...I'm not bikini ready.

LOL...well hon, I don't think you're alone...no bikini readiness goin on over here either!

Quiet..... I think you'll begin to appreciate it more once time has passed alittle bit. Must feel strange to not hear kiddos and the shuffle of little feet. You'll adjust!

Oh girl, I know about the quiet house. But truly with my son here, I'm only half sleeping wondering where he is when he goes out. He's really good about checking in and I don't really enforce a curfew because he's almost 20 but doesn't mean I'm getting any rest! I miss the quiet actually but I know when he leaves I'll be crying like a baby.

Bikini! Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I wish we'd go back to the swimwear they had in the old days that went below the knees! LOL!

I wear men's board shorts and a one piece under neath! I don't have the legs for anything else....

Hubby is in a word, miserable. I feel so bad for him. He's a tough guy and not dealing well with the pain. I'm babying him and hoping this thing will play itself out sooner than later. He's on antivirals and calamine, won't take anything stronger than ibuprophen...so, it is what it is.

I've lost a total of 6.4lbs since I started counting my calories everyday. That makes me happy! Some days I go over, some days under but at least I'm going in the right direction.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Sounds like you are headed in the right direction Blonde, so happy for you. Enjoy your weekend, hubby and I are getting out of town to Wisconsin. Give hubby some TLC and he will mend just fine.
