Jan when you put it like that...nothing. That may be a big part of the problem. I'm going to the Dr. today, more than likely more prednisone, but I don't want to miss anymore work. I've had this cough so long, I'm beginning to fear pneumonia.

New Year's eve approaches, my hair in in desperate need of coloring, and with a houseful, I doubt we'll be going out (even if I wanted to). My resolution is to get well, breathe better, start to exercise again and take care of myself. I always try to do so, but it seems I've put myself on the back burner for several months now and it hasn't been good for me.

Next week, hubby goes back to work, the girls go back to school, hopefully I'll be in the pink and things will be looking up. So at least I'm optimistic?

Good Morning 2012.

I feel I'm on the mend after a rough week. After a chest x-ray I was cleared, no pneumonia, but the bottom left quadrant of my lung is collapsed. Don't even want to know how that happens. It was the reason I was so tired and couldn't walk 10 feet without panting. I'm on a z-pak, prednisone, etc and I'm taking vitamins everyday. Coughing and hacking away still. Yesterday I went to the swap meet with DH just for the exercise. I walked the whole thing in slow motion but I did it. Last night I said goodbye to 2011 at 8:30, when I went to bed. Funny how you don't appreciate good health as much when you have it...

Hope everyone is enjoying their day!

I'm feeling better for sure. I'm up 7 pounds due to 2 rounds of prednisone, and feeling unmotivated, or at least not enough to make it through a down day in quite a while...I know I feel great when I'm cruising through JUDDD, I'm just having a hard time doing it.

Happy New Year!!!

Only 7 lbs with 2 rounds of prednisone is really good! It's almost impossible to maintain your weight with prednisone, and absolutely impossible to lose when taking it.

Congratulate yourself that you've done a good job with this "bump in the road."

Leo! Maggie! Hi to you both, and wonderful to hear from you. Hi Jan!! I got your message, thank you!

I've made it through three consecutive down days (in a week), it's making my head feel alot better about me. Do you know what I mean about having a "fat head"? It's when you're are doing nothing wrong but you're not strictly on plan and your head gets fat because you psyche yourself out...? I am feeling better mentally and physically, I'm doing my "stay off the scale for awhile" thing to further nail my plan back together. It's been more difficult than usual these past few months and Leo, you're right...it could have been much worse with the prednisone.

Jan, Mr. Grumpy is still pretty grumpy. The grandgirls are grand, work is busy (yay, job security) and the weather is perking up. I'm pushing hard for spring, getting my nails painted deep pink and my toenails a deep orchid. I'm tired of frost and having to make a fire in the morning...I want to start our veggie garden and take the girls to the beach and make enormous salads...dreaming, but soon.

Maggie, how are you??

Personally, I think it's a good idea to stay off the scale until you feel more 'in control.' I can't handle a higher number, no matter how much I've anticipated it. Better to wait until it's down again. We know how to do that--good DDs and clean eating!

Blonde! So good to see you're doing well and back on track! I can certainly relate to the fat-head analogy, I feel that way too and it's a struggle sometimes! It's no joke that this weight loss thing is 95% mental. Hardest thing I have ever done!

I feel as if I got jipped (sp?) again with the weather. I don't think we ever had one real cold day this holiday and now we're sittin at nearly 80 most days this week. Altho I do like the spring-like weather, it can never just stay there, it always has to shoot up past it to just plain ole hot. LOL Living in the wrong place, I know!

Keep up the great work lady, your progress IS amazing and wonderful just like you!

I am doing okay, you are doing beautifully. I am sorry that you have been ill. My hubby is on prednisone(sp?) as well, not fun.

I am back on track I ALLOWED last year to get away from me but that is the past and so I go forward. I have no choice., Diabetes has made sure of that.

Wanted to come by and say and tell you that you are doing great!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hey everyone. I've been really bad about posting. DD has strep throat so I've taken charge of the monsters (I mean granddaughters). TGIF. Hopefully we'll all sleep IN alittle tomorrow. I am physically wiped, achy and generally tired butt. Only one good down day this week, the rest have been fair to middlin'. I'm struggling to get it under control. It was so much easier when it was me and DH only, no wrestling with mealtime, no picky eaters to appease, no endless ideas of "what's for dinner"...I would feed DH and have my chicken salad...then forget it. I cross my fingers daily and tell myself I can get it back, just need to work at it every day. I absolutely hate making lame excuses, I guess I'm trying to put it in perspective.

Maggie, don't fret and never give up. We can allow ourselves to be healthy and happy. if we don't take charge, no one will...right?

Danielle you sound boisterous and positive. I love that! How's the new place?

Jan~glad you get to spend time with the boys...it can be so rewarding (and tiring)...lol.

Leo~ I'm currently scared of the scale...I need to get on track first!

Thank you all for sticking with me, it means so much to me!!

Hey lady, good to see ya!

New place is good! Since we moved in weeks before Christmas and chaos always ensues we are just barely getting to some decorating and such.. lookin for some fun furniture and a cool mirror to hang over my fireplace..

Man, I can imagine that things would be kinds hard with little picky mouths to feed! Hang in there honey, all the little pieces will keep adding up so no giving up!

Now it's my turn to be sick..I feel really oogie today

Have a great weekend!!!

A good DD yesterday. I pounded down raw veggies, trying to stop my grumbling tummy...had light soup for dinner and went to bed hungry...slept like a rock...I made it. I started thinking about how I did this before...I need to remind myself that it's one day away from a real meal...to be continued......

oh blonde, i hear ya about the effort of "gettin back into it". you have been on JUDDD for a long time. would taking a plan break help? maybe a change would refresh your interest? sometimes i just get sooooo tired of being diligent/dieting/paying attention to weight. (i know the alternative is NOT what i want, but i can still whine, right? lol!). what about a different kind of "pick me up"? a new outfit? shoes? if you're really feeling blah and struggling with those #$%^& dds... just try on your mother of the bride dress in front of the mirror...and feel jazzed at how far you've come and how beautiful you are!

HIYA Dawn!!!

Oh Jan, thank you. I know what you mean, and of course the alternative is so NOT what we want. One of the things I adore about JUDDD is not being on a diet everyday, just every other day. I bought myself another pair of size 16 jeans yesterday at dress barn and they fit beautifully. It was uplifting for sure. My fat jeans are gone and I think I miss the feel of those extremely baggy jeans, letting me know where I came from. All my other pants fit well, sometimes tight and that makes me feel fatter... even though the pants are smaller. Psychological weirdness, right?

I need to go back to the every other day dieting plan. I tried to do MON/WED/FRI but it's harder to maintain that schedule than to just rotate days every week. Yesterday is a good example. I had a long lunch with my bestie and I decided that I needed a mental health day more than a down day, so today is a down day instead. Following the other plan I wouldn't get a down day until Monday which puts me way behind....

I plod forward.....

Did anyone read "The Stand"? Stephen King's apocalyptic SUPER FLU bug wipes out 99.5% of the worlds population... It mutates and mutates and shifts until you're so worn out it kills you. I think I may have it. I am once again on the mend...blowing my nose and coughing, all residual (I hope). I have been sick off and on (mostly on) since November...I am taking vitamins and praying that I'm done with this stuff. Thanks for the good wishes, I can sure use them.
