You DO have the BEST attitude regarding your weight loss. I've been stressing since I see my lap band doc on Monday and from when I last saw him in December, I am only down a couple of pounds. I had a tough holiday season (that I extended for three months ) and at one point had gained 11 pounds! But seeing him and knowing I haven't "performed" makes me freak and I react by trying to lose 4 pounds in a week. It is nothing he says or does - just my general perfectionism creeping in. I accepted last week though that this situation is what it is. All I can do is keep putting one foot in front of the other and continue my journey. Once I see him, I'll relax and get back to my original goal - 1 pound a week.

Thanks Danielle! My mindset is basically this: Better to lose 4lbs a month, then lose the same 10 lbs over and over and over....ad nauseum. That's what I did last year.

Yes! It is a journey! And for lots of us...a really looong journey! I understand the pressure of Dr. visits. As I said before...when I'm down 10lbs I can see my Dr. and smile. Then the next visit, I'd be UP ten pounds and I'd feel terrible and sheepish.... You can do it Laura! Baby steps. 1lb a week is a good goal.

Its promising to be a rainy day here too. They make me sleepy!!!!

I did the up and down with the scale last year too. TOO many times. I really want off the rollercoaster I'm on but I can't control it too much so I am realizing I need to just try to minimize and control what I can. If I didn't rely so much on food for my emotional state I would be fine I think. Why couldn't exercise be my go-to for stress! Oh well, learning process for sure and I guess I can't expect to turn it around over night after a lifetime of doing things this way.

have a good day at work and be safe in the rain!

Danielle, I don't know if I've mention this before...the Geneen Roth books really helped me get my emotional eating under control. It didn't happen overnight, for sure. Have you read any of her stuff? May not be for everyone, but helped me a lot. Just sayin'.

I have read her stuff. Its been awhile, but I have read. I don't remember a whole lot from them so may be time to look into it again. I just got rid of all of those books when we moved too!

I had a great down day yesterday. I was busy at work and managed to stay under 400 calories. I think my stomach upset the day before may have played a role that. My calories weren't that bad but I had a little carbfest and suffered greatly for it. Stomach ache, cramping, bloating and whooshing. Not good. *Note to self: Do not, I repeat, DO NOT do that again.

Yesterday I went to Henrys after work and bought more tofu-shiritaki noodles. I also found the SF Honey Bear there, and I was pretty stoked. I have some recipes that include sf honey and I thought I would have to mail order it. I also bought a tiny bottle of pure stevia. Apparently this teeny amount of stevia is 905 servings! I've never used it before, the clerk convinced me that it was great and necessary addition to low carb dieting.

NO work today, lots of laundry to do, and it's still raining this morning. I want to go to the gym and use the pool. I bought a plain black tank-style swimsuit and some board shorts last week just for the occasion...now I just have to put them to good use. I sure do think a lot. Too bad mental anguish over exercise doesn't burn calories...I'd be very fit by now.

Yay you!!! Go swim!!! You'll enjoy it (and maybe find out that your lung capacity needs a little ...um...extra support) seriously, no one will be looking at you. no one will care what you look like. and if they think anything...it will probably be "what a nice looking lady taking care of herself, wish everyone could be like her!" you'll feel wonderful afterwards...go swim, and come tell us about it. i am so proud that you are doing this!

thanks for asking about my journal...it's my attempt to engage, not give up, on maintenance, and lose those last few pounds. there's a lot, lot of whining happenin there

I want to take a moment and tell my LC Friends how much I appreciate you! Dawn, Christine, Maggie, Jan, Danielle, Laura, Stacy (miss you, girl). I'm here now because of your support. I stay for the same reason. Thank you thank you. We'll journey together, and come out the other side, triumphant and skinny.

Well I can tell ya right now you guys are why I even bother to come back. Nobody's judged me or called me out on anything and have been so understanding as to the "why" of my struggling. I really needed someone to just be there when I was ready. Thank you. All of you

Stevia...I think it's better than splenda but still not wowed. Its gonna obviously be your own preference. I use Truvia and love it. LMK how you like the Stevia tho, especially if you bake with it!

Go swim woman!!! I get it though, both you and I would be the trimmest thinnest people on the planet with all our thinking and analyzing over exercise!!! LOL I say go for it, and I'm sure you look adorable in your suit and board shorts!

Dawn, unfortunately this last year has been ALOT of judegement on me for many things and it's been the hardest thing I've ever endured. It's so nice to be able to come here and not feel any of that regardless of my shortcomings. That's all I wish I could compartmentalize as well as some people but I can't, I wear it all on my sleeve and that means hard feelings etc, tend to bleed out into other areas of my life.

We all have shortcomings as humans even though some like to think that they don't. I'm glad that we can all come here and feel validated.

I think we all need to be validated or at least not to feel like we are in the company of one, and the rest of the world is perfect. I wouldn't presume to judge you or anyone else, I'm such a mess myself. I appreciate human frailty. Our minds, our conscience...are what sets us apart from the animals...who don't judge, BTW.

Speaking of Judging, I'm already almost to the end of my calorie allowance for the day and it's only 12:30 pm. Oops. I'm going to have to eat some glu later.

Yes we do. My step daughter is finally meeting with the rescue this weekend so that we can get her listed and hopefully adopted soon. I never expected to have her going on three months. I thought we would foster her, get her listed and off she would go to her "forever" home. I can't take it anymore. She is still not completely housebroken and I spend a lot of time dog sitting and tied to constantly watching her while SD is off working or doing her thing. I actually just had an argument with my husband over my SD just dropping on me that she is leaving while she is walking out the door to an appointment. I was right smack in the middle of making dinner. Come to find out she told my DH who has promised me that he would start telling me these things or making her tell me. He "thought" he would be home but wasn't. I'm really venting.....

I like the Konjac Powder, though it may have a clogging effect on me... but hey, there's always room for M&M's! Good thing I don't keep that stuff around. I wish I could eat the sf chocolate but it turns me into a helium balloon...a very leaky, squeaky balloon.

I have to return a wireless router to the store today. It wasn't compatible w/my computer. It's a DD, I've had scrambled eggs and salad, for breakfast...I don't know what's for lunch...I feel a bit logy.

In case you're wondering, I didn't make it to the gym yesterday. My excuse? I need to get some "chlorine" blocker type shampoo. My hair is much lighter than my picture...I don't want it to turn green! I never left the house yesterday at all. I am well aware that I just made an incredibly lame excuse, but it's the only one I have at the moment. I'm positive I can come up with a better one, given time.

Another "borrowed" recipe from the boards....

A six to eight inch individual LC pizza crust (depending upon how thin you prefer your crust):

Slightly less than 1/4 cup almond flour (Bob's Red Mill blanched recommend), fill to 1/4 cup with a dash of coconut flour (also Bob's).
1/2 cup part-skim mozzarella
1/4 cup mild cheddar
1 or 2 eggs

Combine and spread on on parchment paper paper sprayed with a a nonstick spray (I use an organic, olive oil nonstick spray).

[B]BRUSH DOUGH WITH VIRGIN OLIVE OIL PRIOR TO BAKING![/B Bake crust at 350 or 375 for 20 minutes.
