That is just awesome! Their 10's fit me too! I thought about testing an 8 there but went with the 10 and left. I'm assuming you bought a pair. Make sure that we see a picture.

As it turns out, Dawn, I did not buy a pair. I couldn't pull the trigger on them because they weren't exactly what I was looking for; they were light, and I like dark jeans. Their selection was pretty picked-through, and since I couldn't find exactly what I wanted it, I skipped it for now. But I'll go back once the stock is replenished! |

I like dark jeans too. I will see if I can find the link online to the ones that I have. Maybe they have them online on sale and you can just order them. I will look when I'm not on my phone and it if easier to see websites.

It's like a yo-yo this week! But that's what vacation will do to a person. So glad I am not going back to the office until tomorrow, but I am looking forward to getting back into a routine! I need some structure at this point. |

Hi Christine!!! Just stopped by to say hello and Happy New Year to you!
I wanted to tell you, I've lost another 4 pounds and You betcha I'm proud of myself. I love the motivation it gives me to keep on truckin' but you know what? I feel so much better, that is great motivation as well! Still havin a hard time with goals because I keep meeting the darn things ahead of schedule....This fast fast weight loss has to slow eventually, I know, but for now.....OH!! And I started exercising..my resolution. |

Are you kidding me? Granted, my eating wasn't perfect for the past week, but seriously. I expect it'll come off quickly, though, now that I'm back into a routine. I need to step it up or else I'm not going to make my goal of 175 by 1/31. ![]() I think I found that point where a few pounds makes an actual, visual difference. The difference I see in the mirror between 185 and 181 is pretty astounding. I am really seeing the "paper towel effect" that Lizzie mentioned (take a few sheets from a full roll and you can't see the difference; take a few sheets from a thinner roll, and you can see a bigger difference). I think 185 is the magic number for me, which is actually pretty motivating in itself. There was no visual difference, for example, from 199 to 191. But there is a big visual difference under 185. Therefore, I need to get back to the low 180s pronto! ![]() What is really not helping is the fact that I can no longer have my shake. It just kills my stomach, yet I don't know why. For example, when I moved away from the mocha shake (assuming the coffee was bothering me), I drank a shake comprised of strawberries, protein powder, greek yogurt, and HWC. It gave me problems. But I can put together some PP and HWC and strawberries with no problems at all. And I can eat greek yogurt with no problems at all. It doesn't make any sense to me, and it's frustrating because when I had that shake each day, I was NEVER hungry. Right now there is a big gaping hole in my plan, and I don't know what to do to fix it.

I'm sorry about the shake's no longer working. How frustrating. Maybe you can get some already made protein shakes and then just add some HWC to them to give them a higher fat/higher calorie content. I take a travel mug of coffee with HWC to work with me every day and sip it throughout the morning. It usually sustains me until 11:30 or so. Yesterday I took a huge scoop of homemade almond butter and ate that. That along with a cup of coffee held me off until dinner time.

sometimes there is no obvious relationship between your weight loss efforts and scale results...
it happens. and it's a big pain. and you just have to wait it out.cause the other choice is to give up...and you absolutely know what will happen then. reflect and make changes (like you do) if you don't get some movement after a period of time. you have lost so much weight and i know you must feel so proud of your success!!! you always have such a positive attitude and face issues in a problem solving rather than panic mode. this too will sort itself out...because you are so determined!!! since i am a totally impatient dieter, i don't have more suggestions than to keep on, and switch to another food instead of the shake. want one (or three) of my boiled eggs? Dawn declined them ![]() |

Where am I?
Hey Christine! I've never heard that paper-towel analogy but it makes sense! You'll be in 170's soon, you're just being teased awhile so you'll appreciate your own hard work. Last edited by Blonde with a Rose; 01-05-2011 at 08:12 AM.. |

It would be comical if it weren't so annoying. I think the difficult part of this process for me is seeing the scale go up for no apparent reason. If there's a reason, I get it. But for no clear reason? Yesterday's meals:B: egg salad (2 eggs, mayo, mustard, pepper) L: Small chopped salad D: small bowl chili S: 2 squares 86% dark chocolate, 1 T almond butter Plus a whole lot of water. I know weight isn't the whole story, particularly given that I'm currently wearing pants that have been in my attic for the better part of a decade, pants that I just cut tags from. I've never actually been able to wear them, and today I can. I will just keep plugging along. |

Ugh!!!! I had this long post typed out to you and it is lost in cyberspace now!
Short of the long is....you are doing great! Your .2 gain could be just the fiber from the beans and the salad. |

I never drink cream or sugar in tea, so that was an experiment! Maybe I'll go back to my HWC with protein powder; that always leaves me feeling pretty full, and I think it puts me where I need to be calorie-wise in order to lose efficiently. Are you feeling better??? |

I'm not so sure I could drink tea with HWC, that actually sounds kind of gross
LOL. Coffee with HWC for sure that is the only way I can drink it. I usually drink lemon zinger tea with some honey and liquid splenda. For a while during the summer I was eating full fat greek yogurt, frozen strawberries and some vanilla protein powder with splenda. That breakfast would take me forever to eat and then it held me for so long because of all the fat and protein in it. Maybe you could try that. Thanks for asking. I'm not sure how I feel today. I literally coughed from the time I got up yesterday until I went to bed. My boss got tired of listening to me and told me to go home. Besides pneumonia I have never had something kick my butt like this. I have taken 1 1/2 days worth of the antibiotic and hoping it will kick in. The one thing that helped was a hot shower but unfortunately when I got out I went right back to hacking. I took my cough medicine with codeine, nyquil and ambien last night. It was the first night in over a week and a half I have slept. I'm sorry I took over your journal!

G'Morning Christine! I'm positive you're holding on to some water. It's got to be frustrating but it's going to release and then you'll get back to where you were and start back down the scale to the 170's!! I'm cheering for you!
And in a grand hijacking move~Dawn I hope you feel better soon! I hate to cough. Jan- you are a very wise woman. OXOX |

Thanks for the tip, Dawn! I'll try to make it over there this weekend. And thanks for the support, Blonde! Snowing here today. Looks like every school is closed except DS's. That's ok; I have meetings to attend today, and I think the schools are a little too trigger-happy when it comes to closing. The public schools are so lawsuit-fearful that I think they close if it SMELLS like snow. The private schools do what they want, though, which is fine with me. It's only snow, and it looks like about an INCH right now! Glad to see some downward movement on the scale for a change this week! I did slip in a few workouts: Two zumba classes and a trip to the gym. I was hoping to hit Zumba this morning, but it will probably be cancelled. That's ok; I can hit the gym again, which is fine. Happy Friday! |

Oh how frustrating to find out school was closed after you already got moving and out the door. Schools don't get closed that easily here, probably because we are so accustomed to snow. It is snowing today too but not too horribly at least yet.
