Hi ladies!! Back online!!! Yesterday was a big day: My laptop was ready, AND I had a new furnace installed. Wish I'd had the laptop during the day while they were here putting in the furnace; I could have caught up on everyone's progress! Anyway, the important thing is that I can now jump on here early in the morning again.

February already. Can you believe it? I did initially lose my January six, but now I'm bouncing around a pound or too again, so whatever! Comes with the territory, I guess. I'm so pleased that I was home all day yesterday and DID NOT EAT myself to death! In fact, all I had was coffee; I didn't really eat until dinner! Normally, being at home and unstructured is a huge problem for me; I'm glad I was able to get through yesterday unscathed.

So glad it's Friday!!! Any big plans? DS and I are heading on a trip to the ski area for some snow tubing tomorrow, which I'm sure will be fun. In two weeks we're off to NYC, and I can't wait! I haven't taken him since he was 3 or so (shameful; we live so close!), and he's looking forward to going atop the Empire State Building. I hope we don't have a blizzard that day.

Have a good day!!

Hello and YAY! Congrats on losing the six!

Ah it's hard to be home and not eat! I do so much better on my work days. NYC, how exciting! I've never been (and don't see myself getting there). Luckily so many great shows are filmed in NYC so I feel like I know a little.

Have a blast on the snow!

Happy Monday (not really!). Decided that I need to stop being lazy and just make my green shakes on a regular basis! They're filling and easy to transport, so I need to just do it. Drinking one right now, and I feel much less headachey.......

.......after a not great eating weekend! Today is a new day.

It does irritate me that I just can't eat cookies whenever I want to.

But here we are, back to Monday. Is it Friday yet???

I had cookies for dinner last night, and I don't care.

Starting today with a green shake. Later, some chicken, perhaps, and tonight, alfredo meatballs.

I was not in the mood for coffee this morning, which is just odd.

And now, off to a full day of meetings. Ugh.

Good Morning! Hope the rest of your week stacks up nicely. Sometimes you just gotta have cookies for dinner. I think your green shake sounds great, especially if it's satisfying for you! It's almost.... almost Friday.

Looking forward to Friday, that's for sure!

Six lbs. gone, six lbs. back. There's just no predicting. 1-2 days of not eating well, and BOOM. Whatever.

Made some excellent meatballs last night. I've never had good luck with them, so I tried frying them up instead of baking, and they were quite good! I served them in some pizza sauce with melted provolone (with a roll for DS; without for DH and me).

1lb ground beef
2 eggs
about 3/4 cup ground pork rinds (you can't taste them; well, *I* can't, anyway)
1/4 onion, chopped
A few handfuls of shredded parm if you like
Whatever spices you like

Dig in and mix it up with your hands. Fry in 1/2 inch of oil, turning as needed. They held together, tasted good, and were LC! Perfect combo, in my opinion.

Thanks, Maggie! Hope you are having a good week.

Bulletproof coffee this morning, then planning for a big salad at lunch. Cheeseburgers for dinner for the boys, and who knows what for me. Not big on burgers, so we'll see.

Busy day, as usual. Have a good one.

Hey Christine!

Meatballs sound fab, I think I'll try those this weekend. Yum!

6lbs down, 6lbs up... are you sure you're not on MY scale?

For your bulletproof coffee do you use butter or CO, or both? Debating about trying this.

Hope all is well!

Danielle, I use both. About a T of butter and a T of CO. Maybe a little more or less. I hardly ever measure anything.

I keep saying that I need to get it together, and I do. How can I be so focused during some parts of the month, and so "who cares" at other times? I blame hormones!

No, seriously. I think that's possible.

Trying to stick to my BPC, green shake, and high fat dinner today. We shall see.

Snow is coming, apparently. I wish it had started last night so that I could have slept in today! Oh well. Happy Friday, anyway!

Honey I am menupausal right now so I KNOW it's possible. I just need a huge roll of duct tape for my mouth on and off throught the month so maybe that will do the trick. Today is a new day, make the best of it as I know you will and be careful of that snow we got some here last night and it has started up all over again this morning. Have a nice Friday and weekend Christine.

Danielle~ bullet proof coffee is yummmm....me!!

Christine~ I hear a big storm is headed your way, NYC is bracing for a blizzard? Have a great day, leave work early if you need to and then relax and enjoy your snow weekend. Time to break out he board games and the hot buttered rum.

Maggie? Menopause? I resemble that remark. No period in 3 years and still having the worst night sweats you can imagine. No wonder I'm grumpy.

Good morning, ladies! Not much snow here, maybe six inches or so. Roads are clear, so I'll be taking DS out for some sledding......once he finally wakes up!

Enjoying some BPC this morning: I usually use the Keurig on the weekends, and I really like the french toast flavor. With some Kerrygold butter, it's amazing! I have been using my frother on the stove, and it works like a charm.

Failed at my attempt to avoid cookies last night. We'll try again today!

Happy weekend!

Good morning, ladies! I am UP TO HERE with this roller coaster! Enough is enough. I just need to commit and be done with it. I am set up for success: A week's worth of LC/HF lunches and dinners planned, supplies for green shakes, and a renewed commitment, I hope!

Didn't help that I couldn't get to the gym this morning due to a 2-hour school delay, but that's ok! I won't let it derail me!

Great recipe last night (according to DH. I didn't eat it but instead packed it in my lunch for later today). Chicken cordon bleu (I would have made LC mornay sauce to go with it but I forgot):

3 boneless chicken breasts, pounded thin
2 eggs, beaten
1 C or so of shredded parm
Spices of choice (paprika and season all for me)
6 slices of provolone
3 slices of ham of choice

Mix spices with shredded parm
Place two slices of provolone and a slice of ham on each chicken breast
Roll up chicken breast; dip in egg, then cheese mixture
Brown on stove top on all sides for 5-6 minutes
Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes

You might need to secure the rolls with toothpicks; I did not, and they were fine, but I can see how they'd easily misbehave.

For the sauce, I would have melted a quarter stick of butter and then added HWC (maybe 1/2 cup or so. Remember that I never measure). I'd let that cook down a bit, then add some gruyere (shredded) or shredded parm. Let that melt, and maybe add some garlic powder, cayenne, and paprika.

In an ideal world, I'd also have sauteed up some mushrooms and garlic to put on top.

Looking forward to the left overs!

I ate the leftovers at lunch, Blonde, and I hate to be immodest, but I did outdo myself on that one!! Delicious and amazing (and filling! Even for DH!).

Stayed on plan yesterday: YES. I'm back to addict-coming-out-of-in-patient-care living: Every moment, a choice. Every clean day, a victory. Sad, but true.

I think this terrible state I'm in is part hormones, part life circumstances, part birthday milestone. I have a big one this year (next week, as a matter of fact), and I've been talking about being "fit by 40" since 2010. And guess what? I am not fit, but I will be forty. I'm trying to focus on the fact that not everyone has the benefit of living to forty and that I should just be thankful for every day I wake up and go to bed alive. But I'd be lying if I didn't say that I am disappointed in myself. Anyway, I don't want to get all doom-and-gloom here. I'll just leave it at the fact that I am struggling right now.

Plans for the day include hitting the gym, drinking my BPC, drinking my green meanie, and having alfredo meatballs for dinner. I had a terrible acid reflux episode yesterday, so I probably need to lay off the coffee a bit today. I added green tea to the mix yesterday, so that might have been just too much for my poor stomach.

Happy Tuesday!

Oh Christine, Happy pre-b-day I think 40 is the bad one for women and 50 for men! But hey look how good you are now compared to 38!!! You have made a ton of progress I never thought that at 44 I would be in my best shape, if only I had shut my trap in my 20's but hey we cant look back only forward, your 40's will be great, I have liked them so far! Although turning 45 this year sounds damn old!!! LOL

Christine 40 is fabulous! And you know what? You may not be skinny but from what you post here about your work-outs, I'd say you are fit. Maybe not where you want to be (yet) but definitely on your way! YES! You're back on track, one day down, and one day to get through before the next. It's a good way to do it!

For me thirty was the worst birthday milestone!

Thanks, ladies. Blonde, 30 was ok for me, but 31? Not so much! I don't know why "40" is so hard right now. I've always been an "age is just a number" person, so I don't know what the deal is. I need to get in the right head space so that I can do as you all say and make 40 fabulous!! Thanks for your kind words.

I bought pork rinds today for making meatballs, and I am thinking that I might try making nachos out of them. I bet that would work.
