Gosh you are doing SO great food and gym wise!
How is DH's battle with sugar? Is he doing okay? LC pizza sounds yummy. I really really really miss pizza. It's a major trigger food for me, though. I had a great day, thanks. It's a potato day..... ![]() |

Whew! Wildness around here. Lots of drama; why does everything break down all at once??? Sheesh.
![]() Feeling pretty good about things these days. Keeping a close eye on calories, and I think that has been the key to some good losses last week. I'm also committed to my BP coffee in the morning, which does wonders for me. Exercise is as usual, but I've been more consistent with cardio; not more than 20 minutes/day, though. I think that's also key for me. Back when I was doing 1 hour of cardio at a clip, I noticed that my losses slowed significantly. Overall, mood has improved, weight is slowly coming off, and I am optimistic. My goal is to lose 6 lbs/month from now until the end of June. I think that's reasonable, and while I hate to focus my goals around weight (I prefer things I can control), I think it will help my mindset right now. I need to find that focus. Food yesterday: B: BPC + coffee with HWC L: A few slices of deli turkey, one slice cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo (inside of a sandwich provided at an event) D: Green meanie Not a whole lot, but I was satiated. Fat was at around 84%, which seems to be the norm Monday-Friday (88% was the high last week). Weekends it was 68%. Hoping, hoping, hoping that I found a groove here. ![]()

Christine I hope you have found your groove as well. I am back to walking a mile at least a day along with using free weights as I walk and for now that is enough exercise for me. Spring and Summer I may venture and do more but for now I feel set, I am just glad I am getting some exercise in. Your goal for weight loss sounds good too, simple, slow & steady for me as well.

I think you bring up a very good point about cardio, and I need to remember that once I get going with exercise. I tend to go all-out with it and I need to remember that MORE is not necessarily better..! I think my body does better with small, short bursts of it.
I think your goal of 6 per month is a good one. I have resigned myself to the fact that I simply will not ever be able to lose the 10+ lbs a month like I used to. They don't call it the golden shot for nuthin My body has caught up with my shenanigans and isn't about to give me more than I work my butt off for I'm happy if I'm able to get 5 off a month...who'd a thunk it! You're in a good place, Christine, run with it! We'll all be chasing you trying to catch up! ![]()

So I finally found what I was talking about on someone else's journal: KIM'S MAGIC POP. Frisbee-shaped things that are like pork rinds without the pork flavor. DH and I ate them with pub cheese spread on them. Low carb, low cal, and to me, they tasted like cheese curls. So if you're missing junk food, that might be the ticket! Once in awhile, anyway.
Down a pound from last week; I'll take it. Slow and steady. Food was this yesterday: B: BPC L: Green meanie D: Pizza chicken S: Magic pop w/ pub cheese And lots of water. Workouts are the same, maintaining the 20 minute max (though yesterday I did 30 on the bike, but that's fine). DS is now "lifting" with my handweights at home, which is hilarious. But it's also indicative of how one person's choice to live a healthier life can have far-reaching implications. He sees my commitment to health and fitness, and he's emulating that. That outcome is far superior to any number on my scale! |

Christine you are so right that getting healthy and fit far out weighs any number on the scale.
to you for being down on the scale and more importantly showing us the importance of good exercise. I am BPC and I am making Pizza Chicken tonight for dinner as well. I have been a bit lazy in the cooking department ever since Aunt Flo showed up for her monthly visit so before hubby goes on a Pow Wow I figured I better rustle up something better for dinner other than what he has eaten the last few days. It is nice to hear that your son is following your example in fitness and that you are proud of yourself leading him in the right direction. Slow and steady is working well for you. |

Thanks, ladies! It has been a good week. Down another pound today. I'm back to weighing because I realized that (1.) I needed to just bite the bullet and see where I am, and (2.) I need another measure of progress. If I don't see the changes in how my clothing fits, I assume I'm not making any progress. Therefore, I added the scale back in simply as another data point, and also as a point of added accountability/motivation. It's just what I need to do right now.
Keeping calories fairly low; according to my food tracker, I was in a 5000 calorie deficit this week before today, which I guess makes sense in terms of the two pounds lost. I don't necessarily subscribe to the direct calories in/calories out relationship, but I'll see what happens over the long term. Food yesterday: B: BPC L: Pizza chicken, leftover D: Nada. DH didn't eat, so I just packed up my own dinner for lunch today (chicken and mushroom alfredo!) I've been so busy at work that I haven't even thought about food during the day! And at night, we've got lots to do, so I'm not giving in to any boredom eating. Exercise is the same. Moving on to week five of my lifting plan on Monday: Heavier weights, lower reps. Here's to an on-plan weekend! Have a good one! |

Yeah, I believe that it's so important to weigh in. Every time I've ever gotten WAY OFF TRACK, was by avoiding the scale.....Good job.

CHristine that is awesome about Hubby!!! Mine says when we move he might join my gym and go with me at 5 since he has been too busy to go to his gym at lunch like he used to, dont know that I will like this but whatever! As long as he keeps letting me pay for a trainer I wont be with him, I dont like working out with him, only hot yoga, since he cant talk
You found the frisbees? Glad you like them! Cold and snow it sucks, I am so ready for spring!!!!!

Good morning, ladies! Still no laptop so my time here is very limited. I hope to have it back later this week! Things are going well: Lost my six January pounds before January is over, so I call that success! Looking forward to February.........but not the cold! SHEESH!
Hope you all had a great weekend! |
