Hey Christine, I loved that chicken one of my favorite now and so easy!!

Did my new workout alone at the gym, the back room no one was there so I could sprawl around and not be embarrassed!! LOL I was like all ready and then there were all these people in the main area, so now this is cool I can do box steps and burpees in between and no one sees me, and no one gets hurts with a flying boob!!! LOL

Glad you liked it!! One great thing about my small gym: No one is ever there in the morning! One person did come in one morning (an intern), and she texted me later to say that she saw me at the gym but left because I was doing pelvic tilts and it was awkward. Um, yeah.

Good morning, everyone! Heading into the gym soon for the dreaded dips and pull ups. I have this nagging pain at my right heel, and I'm pretty sure it's from doing planks. I can feel it when I do them; I hope it clears up soon. In better news, when I first started this routine almost four weeks ago, I could barely hold a 15-second half plank. Now I can do two 30-second full planks. Good progress!

Food yesterday:
B: Coffee
L: Taco salad
D: Turkey breast w/ broccoli
S: Roast beef, cheese, mayo

Have a great Thursday!

Planks are killers that is super, making tangible progress you can measure is a good thing!!!! I am trying to focus on lifting and getting stronger rather than the stupid measurements, like my husband said he can tell I am working out harder again cause everything just gets firmed up. I think my trainer does the measurements every 4 weeks. So I will be curious to see what happens.

Oh! I also forgot to mention that I made cream cheese clouds last night. I halved the butter, though:

1 brick cream cheese, softened
1/2 stick butter, softened
a few drops of peppermint oil (I added too much!)
A few shakes of xylitol

Beat until smooth and drop onto waxed paper. Freeze and enjoy! They really are like little cheesecakes, but the peppermint was way too much. I know for next time: one drop is enough!

Awesome about your exercise Christine!

I made some of those clouds and I sweetened them with a little dry sf lemon jello, I thought they were good. I'll prob half the butter next time too.

Let me know how you like the clouds if you try them (and how you make them)! Seems that there are lots of variations, and I'm up for trying all of them!

Amber, shoulder workout.............ouch! But happy anniversary and good for you for making a wise choice. We haven't been eating out AT ALL because we're both trying to lose weight (DH is down to 164. Couldn't you just smack him? I could! ). A steak at home sounds lovely!

Off to workout soon, a bit later than usual this morning because DS is off from school today and Monday. DH will be home with him today as I head off to work. Hoping this heel pain goes away (it feels like it's in my Achilles and I can feel it during planks, which is why I think it was caused by the planks). Today is the last day of my first 4-weeks of this lifting plan. Next week, things get real! Down to 6-8 reps, which means heavier, harder weights for the next four weeks. I swear I can feel a different in firmness (just like you, Amber!), but I don't think my weight has changed all that much. I read something on Pinterest:

It takes 4 weeks for you to notice body changes, 8 weeks for your friends/family to notice, 12 weeks for everyone else to notice.

Just a reminder that even though the changes are slow, they'll come! Patience, patience. Have a great Friday!

Hi Christine. I love the reminder that we need PATIENCE! I have plenty of that, so long as I get what I want RIGHT NOW LOL!

I am really inspired by the lifting progress you are making!

I wanted to tell you I like the cream cheese cloud recipe. I was chicken and only made one - 1 oz amounts because it sounded so good.

Hi! I sure hope you heel gets better FAST! I am so in awe with your exercise. You sure are right on the body changes, it takes time and patience for sure!

I hope you have a good weekend!

Glad you enjoyed them, SS! I made more last night but I forgot to add xylitol, so they basically taste like peppermint cream cheese. I'm going to try again later this weekend!

Low-key day here today. DS and I will hit the farmers market later, and I'll probably do some cleaning. No idea what the food situation will be; I haven't planned out our menu yet. Yesterday was as follows:

B: Coffee w/ HWC
L: A few bites of turkey breast; iced coffee
D: Bacon, broccoli, a few bites of chicken
S: Cream cheese clouds

Have a great Saturday!

Holy crap, Amber!!!! Glad that she's gone if she was so negative; that can really bring a team down. Enjoy the rock show! Next time you're up this way, we need to do LC lunch! Or maybe meet at Echo Hill, my favorite place EVER.

Blonde!! Hope your weekend is off to a good start!

DS and I have been busy: We made homemade chocolate syrup for his chocolate milk (first ingredient of store bought? HFC ), made homemade clay for his social studies project, and got our Halloween decorating underway. I cleaned out the coat closet and stored the portable a/c unit. Hung some hooks in there for DH's ball caps as well. Now it's time to head out for more decorations and some food.

Oh! I found two jackets (cropped) size 12 from Talbot's that haven't ever fit me well enough to wear out. NOW THEY DO. Amazing. I haven't lost much weight, but the lifting is toning things up, apparently!

Too bad it's not cool enough to wear them yet.

I know we are weenies we are so close we gotta meet, or I will drag you down here to bootcamp with me!!! OMG I got the best compliment today some guy in the bootcamp class said I am getting nice shoulders!!! OMG that meant more than noticing I lost weight!!!! Its like you cant really measure shoulders so I guess you can tell they are more defined, I still swear all this lifting is doing something! I knew you were the one person that could appreciate it! He had a contest today to see who could hold a plank the longest some 18 year old girl was at 8 minutes when I left, LOL 8 Minutes!

Hi Christine,

Great job getting so much accomplished. It's GOT to feel good.

It's always a nice reminder that transforming our bodies for the better is SO much more than that darn scale. Wonderful job with that progress! Sounds like you are on a roll...

Have a great weekend, friend.

Hugs, Jenna

You can count me OUT of boot camp, Amber! I will hold your towel and provide you with fresh water, though.

Here's something I made last night. I don't like my modifications, but I'll give you the real recipe first and then tell you what I did to it:

1 C shredded zucchini (shred and then squeeze all of the water out of it)
1 egg
1/4 c spicy panko
1/4 c cheese of choice (parm for us)
salt, pepper, spices of choice (I used garlic powder and cayenne)

Shred zucchini. Lightly beat egg. Combine all ingredients and press into mini-muffin tin sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Bake at 400 for 15-18 minutes.

So I made one batch with the spicy panko for DH, and the other batch with ground flax for me. The spicy panko ones were delicious! The flax, not so much. They didn't firm up/crisp up like the others. Either way, the panko has about 20g carb for 1/4 cup, so split among 12 little cups, that's not bad. I ate them with sour cream, and that was my dinner. Next time I might try making them with coconut flour or something, but I don't think they'll get the same crispy effect. They were like little bite-sized hashbrowns!

Rainy Sunday here today. Bacon is cooking, coffee is brewing. I had hoped to take DS to the pumpkin patch for some pumpkins and decorations, but that's not going to happen. Maybe on Monday we can go, if it's nice. Today we'll be cleaning and grocery shopping. DH and DS will be thrilled!

Try them with crushed pork rinds one thing they crisp up due to all the fat, I hate them by themselves but use them exclusively for a bread crumb sub. They make meatloaf delicious, from all the fat keeping it moist!
