Hope you had a great day. Clothes are a great motivator! When I can go in and try on something right off the rack and it looks good, than I'll know I'm where I want to be . Right now it's maybe 1 out of 10 outfits that pass that test . You can do this.

Maggie, as usual, I appreciate your wise words.

Amber, you are right about the smoking. I will surely give it up in the future (congrats on your six months!), but I think I need it as a crutch for right now. And if it prevents me from devouring a whole cheesecake, then it's worth the trade-off!

Looking forward to tomorrow; DH and I actually have the day off together, which will be nice. I've had to adjust my remaining vacation days for the summer given the major change I mentioned earlier, so we won't have any more time off together this summer. And tomorrow we'll be running errands, which isn't fun, but at least we'll be hanging out together!

Food yesterday was good, and WE WENT TO THE MOVIES. How about that for avoiding temptation! We took DS, his friend, and met another family there (their son is another one of DS's friends). Everyone had juicy tubs of popcorn, the boys had some candy (chocolate, even), and I had..............nothing. I wasn't even hungry, really, and the popcorn was NOT appealing to me at all. We stopped at Fresh Market beforehand, and I didn't even buy chocolate almonds! Given that I hadn't eaten dinner, that was a surprise. But I wasn't hungry, wasn't craving them, and was just fine. I'm so happy to be back in control.

B: Coffee
L: Chef Salad
D: Nothing
S: 2 bites of left over chef salad after the movie; 1/2 leftover HB egg

I'm at a square 190 today; 189 tomorrow, please? Thank you, LC gods.

Alright, 188.6. I haven't been weighing myself much these days, but once I was on the brink of finally breaking out of the 190s (again!), I was at it every day this week!

Off to a challenging weekend. DS and I are going out of town with a good friend of mine and her DS (the boys are good friends), and she's virulently low-fat, which is a challenge!!! I'll be bringing much of my own stuff, but meals will be a challenge because we'll be meeting her family at their condo, and they'll be doing the cooking. Fortunately, it'll end up being only a few meals: Dinner Saturday, breakfast Sunday. I think the rest will be more "informal" and just kind of grab and go.

We'll also be engaging in some cocktails on Saturday night; the boys will be with her parents and we'll probably walk down to see a live band down the street from the condo. I haven't really had anything to drink this summer, so I'm hoping a drink or two won't cause too much damage to my progress.

Happy Monday!! Hope you all had a great weekend; I'll catch up on your journals tonight! Just a quick note to say that I survived the weekend, fairly unscathed! One of the greatest benefits of this WOE for me is rarely feeling hungry, so if I need to live on a smaller portion of food, no problem! Here's how it worked out:

Saturday:
L: They had BLTs; I had BLTs wrapped in lettuce leaves
D: They had pasta, I had salad
(I had some LC adult beverages that night, no problem)

Sunday:
B: They had cereal, I had a HB egg w/ string cheese (so did DS)
L: Hot dogs, deviled eggs (they had pasta salad and chips; I did not. I just ate my bunless hot dogs)

I managed to survive drinking my coffee with Lowfat milk, too ()!

All in all, not bad. I rowed a canoe for miles and miles, so I count that as a workout!

Thanks, ladies! I was really concerned going into it because I was afraid I'd just throw in the towel, but I'm so glad that didn't happen!

Back to the gym yesterday for some weightlifting, which was challenging. Some days are harder than others; yesterday's print-out called for 20 lb. dumbbells on the incline fly, which is a difficult exercise (but very effective!). I'm getting better at managing heavier weights over my head, which I will take as a sign of improvement.

Food yesterday:
B: Coffee
L: String cheese x 2
D: Hot wings! Salad

Back in the 190s today, but TOM is lurking, I have a bit of sun damage, and I know I had some sneaky carbs in the past few days (I have a sense that the bacon I ate was turkey bacon and the hot dogs low fat!). Hoping it all drains away by the end of the week!

Hi Christine,

Glad you are back in the groove. I'm impressed with your weight-lifting. I just do simple movements with my 5 pound weights and my sculpting DVDs, so I don't know if that is considered to be actually weight-lifting, but it works for me. Great job!
