Hi Christine!

Yes, today is a NEW day, thank God! I wish you nothing but success. I like your goals too. They could be my own, that's for sure.

Have a super Monday, and talk to you soon!

Thanks, ladies! Maggie, thanks for the reminder on the exercise thread; I think I'm going to spectate on this round! I don't trust myself enough to follow through with all of the hectic elements of my life right now.

It's Day Two of my humble re-commitment.

Day one was fine. Not hungry, good food, good exercise. Today I'll work out just once, most likely: C25k later today (week five: Run 5, walk three x 3). Maybe I'll hit the weights if we don't get caught in the rain (like we did yesterday!).

Food plan is this:

B: Coffee with CO and butter
L: Cobb salad
D: Unsure

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Exercise was c25k week five, day one (5,3,5,3,5 -- run, walk, run, etc.). It was pretty much a breeze. Things will start becoming more intense soon, though!

Dinner was an omelet with two slices of bacon, gorgonzola, and swiss. I love my cheese!

Hope everyone is having a great evening!

Day three. It feels like I should be much deeper into this process!! One of the many things I love about LC is the immediate response I feel from my body. I can feel the reduction in water weight almost immediately, and my energy hits the roof.

Things were so bad this weekend that because I ate like crap from 3pm-8pm on Saturday, I was IN BED BY 8pm ON SATURDAY NIGHT. For the night!!!! Poor DH was like, WTH? That never happens. It did, and it was my own fault.

Anyway. Bygones.

Have I mentioned that I'm staying away from the scale? It used to be a good tool for me, but now, not so much. Now that I'm fairly stuck, I look at the scale and think, "It doesn't matter what I do. It makes no difference either way." That's totally messed up thinking, and I need to remember that it DOES matter in ways that are more important than body weight. But the scale is like some kind of hypnotic device. Therefore, I am staying away until my 4 weeks are up!

Meals for today:

B: Coffee with butter and CO
L: Crap, forgot my pudding. I guess a salad from the cafe.
D: Meatza

Will get in a running workout later. I really need to get back to the weights soon, though. I've had no time for that, so perhaps this weekend!

Good for you! Scale, no scale, it's what works for you. Your scale does not own you. You own your scale!

Hi Christine!

What you said about the scale is SO TRUE. I am a daily weigher (again), and I do get so into the number it flashes every day and sometimes I let it dictate how the rest of my day goes. We are all so much more than that darn number. Good for you for staying away from it for a while.

Also, I am so impressed with all of that great exercise you are doing. I strive to improve in that area, and you inspire me!

Have a great day,

Maxi

Hi Christine!

Thanks for stopping by my journal! I was reading the first few pages of your journal and I'm thinking the same way you do about exercise and how it isn't a huge factor with weight loss. My Dr. told me that I needed to start walking, not for weight loss but for the other benefits. She said don't exercise just to lose weight, exercise to feel good. Diet is the main factor of weight loss. I too am a scale junkie. Except I don't just weigh every day but I weigh every time I go to the bathroom But I don't count my weight until my official weigh in day. Sadly to say, sometimes my weigh-in day is more than some of the other days. But that's okay as long as it's lower than the last official weigh-in.

See ya around!

Christine- I hate that effing scale, LOL I need to put it away! THey opened this MMA boot camp place not even a mile form my house, I am doing it almost daily and I am going to see what happens, they say you burn 1200 calories an hour, we will see if that doesnt move some of this weight I am resigned to always weighing freaking 200-205 good god! I am such a man!! LOL

I dont know if you are eating Steel cut oats gain, but hubby's cholesterol is high so I am making him batches, well I read to take olive oil and brown the oats then add the water, he loves it and when I make a batch on Sunday for the week it stays better as the week goes on rather then getting all gummy. Just an FYI for if you make them! I need to get to echo hill, but I spend too much darn money there!

As for the exercise, I am trying to focus on "overall health benefits." We'll see if that works because running is making me gain weight! I'm not even changing the way I eat, which is annoying! It's not like I'm running and then starving so I rake in a few extra thousand calories or something.
OMGosh!! That's exactly what I've been trying to tell my husband! For some reason when I exercise hard I gain weight! He won't believe me I'm glad to find someone else like this. I was starting to think I was nuts.

Almost the end of day four:

B: Coffee with CO and butter
S: Iced Coffee
L: Leftover meatza, pepperoni, string cheese
S: Iced coffee
D: Will be shrimp alfredo, salad, broccoli

Too much cream today, but otherwise, not bad.

Two cigarettes today...bad.

No running today....not good. I hope maybe I can sneak out to the gym tonight when DH gets home. I had every intention of going earlier, but.....it's a long story.

Three unstructured days ahead: Off tomorrow and through the weekend, so I am hoping to maintain control. The past three weekends have been absolutely terrible. I made horrific choices and pay the price for that to this day.

This weekend will be different.

Hi Christine:

I wish you the best for a great weekend on plan. I understand what it feels like to lose control. I also "pay for it" several days later!

Hopefully you get your exercise in today. Today was my first real day of good, hard exercise. I did level one of Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. My muscles are still shaking. I need to get back in shape, that's for sure.

Have a great night!

Hugs,

Maxi

Ended up skipping dinner last night in favor of some weight lifting and a run. It was a good choice! Legs are a little sore today, but it's a good reminder of the work I put in.

Need to stay focused today!! Probably going to eat a "real" breakfast since I have off and am taking DS to an amusement park later this afternoon.

B: Omelet and bacon, probably
L and D TBD

It's nice to have the day off, but I do rely on structure so much!! Happy Friday!

I hate that, Amber!!! My friend SWEARS to me that this is totally normal and that we should just keep pushing through. She said one day it all clicks and the body releases the fat.

It's annoying in the meantime!!!

I am sure you ladies are losing some awesome inches despite what the scale says. I think I would rather tone up and lose the inches but I understand how disappointing it seems to see the scale and what it says. I think there was an article on LCF's about how the scales lies. Maybe look that up and when that stupid scale stays the same or doesn't budge you won't lose heart. Christine I just hearing how you and Amber exercise, so motivating to an me and others. KUTGW and like your friend, I too believe the scale will even out with all your efforts in the gym and exercise department.

Have a beautiful Friday and a wonderful weekend.

Good morning!

Off to take DS to his game this morning. He needs to be there 30 minutes beforehand, so that will be enough time for me to take a quick run around the park while we're there. Loaded up some new tunes and it's cool outside, so I'm looking forward to it.

No idea how food will go today. I'm having coffee soon, but that will be it before we leave. Eggs of some sort will definitely be in order for lunch. Maybe I'll whip up some deviled eggs, too! I have some leftover shrimp from last night, so I'm sure that will be involved as well.

And maybe some LC cheesecake, JC!
