Ok.

I've been back and forth with myself a million times about coming back. I told myself I didn't have time, that I couldn't commit to regular participation, that I didn't really need to be here.

But over the past 9 months, I added 20 lbs back of the 63 I had lost. My own fault: New job, family stress, not being diligent enough. I knew I had the tools to be successful and rested on my laurels.

Right now, my closet is split. In one closet, we have all of the clothing I currently wear. In the next closet -- in my plain sight -- all of the clothing I wore but now can't. It's depressing.

So I thought about the things that contributed to my success from 7/10-7/11:

1. Daily diligence. Checking in here, updating, reading the motivation.
2. Bacon. I'm serious. I cut bacon out and paid the price. It wasn't a conscious choice; it just happened, and I am regretting that.
3. Focusing on everyone but me. Ill FIL, ill DH, pre-teen DS, etc. I can't help them if I'm not at my best.

Thanks for asking about me, ladies! I hope I am here to stay.

Thanks, ladies! It's good to be back and back on track! I have been thinking about how the past nine months were so tumultuous and rendered me feeling like I didn't have much control in my life, and the side-effect was that I basically gave up on disciplined eating/exercising. I wish the opposite had been true, you know? Wouldn't a more natural reaction to uncontrollable circumstances be to TAKE control of one's personal circumstances? For some reason, I had the opposite experience, but I've decided that I need to take back control over my decisions.

After all, it's the only thing I really can control, right? Everything else is well outside our control.

Mornin' Christine! Drinking water like it's your job! I like that! Seems I'm hardly ever thirsty (for water) and I need to drink it. Lots more of it.

So glad you're back. On track or off, I've missed your wit and wisdom.

Thanks, Blonde! One down side of the water.......constant bathroom trips! I cannot make it through more than a 1-hour meeting without having to go! I think I should get a pedometer and track my steps to and from the rest room. I might catch up with Magie's 171 miles!!!

Morning Christine, walking to the bathroom and getting a pedometer to track it is great!!! I hear you on the bathroom thing, up the water intake, more trips to the bathroom. I don't work(oh hubby says I do but I don't get paid for it)outside the home but my nearest bathroom in my home is either upstairs or downstairs. You would think I would be skinnier with all the climbing up or down to use the bathroom. I think the worst part is that I have to stop drinking way before I go for my 2-3 mile walk, you get the picture? Excited to hear you get back into your exercise routine, Zumba anyone?

DAWN!!! How are you????

I was in the bathroom about, oh, ten times overnight. No joke. I stopped drinking water at dinner, but it didn't seem to matter. I wonder if my body will figure it out and get to a point where I won't need to go so much. Has anyone else evened out in this way?

Nope not me, I stopped drinking in the afternoon so I could get in my 3 mile walk with hubby in the evening and I still ran in the house afterwards to go. I am perimenupausal and that doesn't help either. It would be nice to believe I could slow down with increased H20, I could always hope.

Have a good day Christine, even if you are in the camode alot!

I am doing well! Busy and I am thrilled that you are back!

After I posted about the water I went right to our Coke machine and got a water out! I refilled it once while at work and then came home and had more. I need to get back to the water. I have really slacked on that and it isn't like I really replaced it with anything. Fortunately when I do drink a lot of water I don't have the overnight issues like you guys do but I am stubborn and would be restless all night just so I don't have to get up and get out of a warm bed and risk waking up too much.

Good for you, Dawn!! Did you notice any side-effects of not drinking enough water? I tend to have a low-grade headache all day (which I usually fail to connect to dehydration, duh!). Weekend are tough for me with the water; today, for example, I'll be running DH to work because my car is in the shop, then taking DS to his football game/pics. Then we'll be running around this afternoon, and I have a work function tonight. I won't drink a lot because I won't think of it, and if I DO think of it, I'll avoid it because I won't want to have to find a bathroom while we're out!!!

Kitty, great news that you're back in ketosis!

I'm trying to cut waaay back on the diet soda too. Maybe I'll get more thirsty for water, w/out the soda.

I'm so happy you're back Christine!
