Awesome job putting your body to work for you!
Envy envy, green, etc. That's me. You inspire me to clip my batwings. I'm doing some swimming and I love it, the weather here right now is HOT (90's) and I'm taking advantage! I've got to get ot a ZUMBA class. I know I would love it... |

I hear you on the bat wings Blonde, these arms are only shown at night to hubby right before bed, just like a bat coming out only in the night. ![]() There is a gal on here named Amber that had her bat wings clipped and they look great. I believe she is getting married sometime this year. Just a tid bit of information. |

Where would I locate this magic Callan arm exercise? I'm all for it!! Thank goodness for light sweaters, huh? I'm telling you my arms are out of control.
Maggie do you mean she actually had her batwings surgically clipped? ![]() |

You're welcome!
Hurt my calf in Zumba yesterday (again!). It's a strain, I think, and is likely due in part to dehydration. I was in meetings all morning, then went to Zumba, and I hadn't had a whole lot of water. Kinda puts a damper on my fitness plans for the week, but I'm hoping it'll be healed up by Friday's Zumba class. We'll see!! Softball tomorrow, so I'm hoping I'll be ok for that as well. Day two of clean eating (yesterday.....and by "clean" I simply mean LC) went well: B: Shake L: HB egg, string cheese D: Subway salad (turkey, cheese, roast beef) S: 2 sf chocolates I need to ditch the chocolates. I eat them out of habit, not out of desire. I think I'll keep around the ones that aren't my favorite so that in the event of a real craving, I'll have something. I made it through TWO difficult events yesterday: A party at work and a birthday party after work.

woo hoo for not eating carby celebration food! i have had a craving for bakery cake...the kind with not one bit of nutrition. even tho i now it doesn't taste as good as i imagine and even tho i am not going to buy one
for me, a craving for one thing isn't satiated by eating something else, even if it's similar. do you think the small amount of chocolate you are eating is hindering your weight loss or are you thinking to eliminate it for another reason? to you for you leg pain. i hope it heals quickly. and, just saying...from mom, you have to stay still for a minute for it to heal, ms. active lady! |

I love the whipped cream icing! Regarding the chocolate, I am more concerned with the behavior than Iam with the weight (though, of course I am concerned about the weight!). I don't like the idea that I'm still mindlessly eating. Hoping the leg is better soon; it didn't feel so hot today. I might need a designated runner for softball. ![]() Eating has been good today: B: Shake S: String cheese (I think? I can't remember if I ate it or not!) L: Salad, egg salad, chicken salad (it was a salad kind of day!) S: SF chocolate (one piece!) D: Nothing Hoping to hit the pool tomorrow morning! ![]() |

I like Biggest Loser, mostly because the topic is one I'm so immersed in. The challenges are silly and don't much interest me. I'd rather see more about their eating. The weigh ins are my favorite part

I made DS some dinner, but DH was going to be late, so I didn't bother with any "grown-up" food (DS loves to eat an "array" of food. His loves to ask me to "please make me a plate." That means some sliced fruit of some sort, raw vegetables, perhaps some black olives, cheese, and cold meat. He's a funny kid!) and therefore, I didn't eat. I wasn't hungry, but I did go to bed thinking about eggs for breakfast! But now that I'm up, I'm totally not in the mood to cook them, so I'm sticking with my shake. ![]() I did see the benefit of some scale movement this morning, though! Back down to 178.2 (I have been bouncing around between 178 and 184 for the past month!). Let's hope this is a new downward trend. ![]() |

Cute, Dawn! Hope everyone had a nice Cinco de Mayo!
Workout plans for today are shot. Further shredded my calf at softball (we won!) but the real damage happened at the "after-party." I am too old for this nonsense! ![]() ![]() ![]() But yesterday's workout ended up being swimming, lifting, softball, and crazy dancing. Food was as follows: B: Shake L: Salads D: 2 glasses of red wine Surprisingly, I'm not paying for my serious dehydration on the scale today. I really need to work the fluids for the next 24 hours! ![]() |

We're not talking about the dancing!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() But there is video proof, which will remain under wraps! The good news about the dancing is that perhaps it broke me through the 178 barrier: 177.2! I'll take it. My quads are now shredded from softball, the calf injury is still hanging on, but I made it to the gym this morning, anyway. I need some time away from Zumba, but I can still do the lifting (minus the heavy leg work). Abs, back, chest, biceps, triceps....no problem. It was nice to be in there at 7am ALONE! ![]() Just got back from some thrift store shopping, where I picked up some desperately needed shirts and capris. I need a few more things and then I think I'm set for summer. ![]() Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful Saturday! Off to do laundry. |

Well, I did some calculations, and it looks like I can reach my (first) major goal of 159 by July 26 (1 year anniversary) by losing about 1.7 lbs/week.
Right now I'm in the middle of a month of completely clean eating, so I hope that will jump start the effort (so far, so good). Exercise will be on target, which will help the nutrition. Fingers crossed. It's now or never. |

177.2 again. Quads feel better, calf feels better, but Zumba is "off" this week. I guess that's a good thing; it'll give my calf plenty of time to heal. In the meantime, I'll lift and swim (both today, I hope). I hope everyone had a good Mother's Day! Food for me yesterday:
B: 3-egg omelet with peppers, onion, and cheese S: Shake L: A few bites (maybe two) of Chicago deep dish pizza, 1-2 pieces of broccoli (I wasn't hungry) D: Turnip au gratin Exercise was just walking around the zoo. Plans for today: B: Shake L: Turnips D: Turnips Working late, so I'm trying to keep it simple. |

Hey Christine! Sorry about the shredded calf. Ouch! But good for you for working out around it, anyway!
I had only one meal yesterday (dinner chicken salad) and it was okay. Turnips! I love turnips. My mom used to make them with a ham hock when I was little. Yum. Still haven't made the "gratin"...it got too hot too use the oven but maybe this week. Lots of cool weather in the forecast. I admire your resolve and ambition. I admire you for making cake even when you wish you didn't have to, for exercising... even with a good excuse not to, for taking away your chocolate treats because it might be a crutch, for moving on and forward week after week. ![]() You are an inspiration to me.

Thank you, ladies!! You are all so motivating as well; you are my role models!!
Food intake didn't go as planned today, but was still on plan: B: Shake S: String cheese L: Turnips D: Chicken breast in wing sauce with L, T, and bleu cheese; side of steamed broccoli S: Pepperoni chips Did make it to the gym but did not make it to the pool. Hoping to hit the pool in the morning tomorrow! |

Hey Christine! Thought I'd return the favor of you stopping in my journal, I just read through all your entries and I have to say you are hilarious and your progress is amazing! I cannot believe you workout that much during the week while raising a son, having a career, and a social life! Kudos to you! Just recently we had a Zumba thing at the Mall of America when I was shopping with some friends and we stopped to watch and it was very interesting, it looked super fun and not at all like exercise--I also really enjoyed the outfits everyone had on so bright and colorful!
