![]() Thanks!!! ![]() 179 today. I expect to bounce around a bit in the high 170s, particularly during TOM. Plus my diet hasn't been stellar; on plan, mostly, but too much salt, definitely! Also had some of DH's SF "treats," which I don't normally eat. I need to back off those immediately!! I was reading an article someone posted reviewing the latest Atkins book, and as usual, the commentator addressed the calorie issue, stating in part that it's not lowering the carbs that causes weight loss on a LC plan; it's lowering the calories. To that I say this: While I believe that weight loss is far more complex than calories in/calories out, clearly calories are probably the single most important factor in terms of sheer energy gain and loss. That is probably something that can't be disputed. But that's not the important part of the conversation. The important part is about the QUALITY of those calories: What foods can you eat that will permit you to stay "on plan" in the long term without feeling hungry/deprived all the time? I know that I'm taking in fewer calories these days, and the reason for that is that I'm NOT HUNGRY. However, if I were eating the same number of calories via different foods -- grains, simple starches, etc. -- I would be ravenous all the time. It just seems to me that any non-LC person who comments on LC plans always misses the mark on this one. ![]()

I'm looking forward to having a little behind!
![]() ![]() ![]() 180 today, not surprising given that I ate 2 slices of pizza with DH last night because I wanted to! Today at Zumba I was a celebrity, which was funny. I bought a few new pieces of clothing for working out, and since they actually FIT, it's apparent how much I've lost. People kept coming up to talk to me about it and couldn't believe that I want to lose 20 more. People! Abs of flab! Thighs of chub! It all must go! |

Good morning Christine!
I completely agree with you regarding "quality" of calories in a low carb diet. I have never wanted to think that calories count on a LC diet, and maybe they didn't when I was younger, but they sure count now. I can't lose weight, no matter how low carb I go, if I don't reduce calories as well. That's just me. But I feel better and have had better results w/the calorie counting and LC dieting in tandem. People just miss the mark with this low calorie stuff. How can one eat 150 calories worth of sugar and then expect to maintain the rest of the day? For me sugar in = more sugar in...just to feel normal. Maybe it's not like that for everyone? Good for you for pretty-ing up you work out wardrobe!!

![]() 180 today, and probably up a bit again tomorrow. Holding onto some serious fluid right now; I can tell! But on the up side, I did 75 pushups today and 225 reps in the ab series. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. |

Zumba today! Can't wait. And no muscle pain from my push-up extravaganza yesterday. That's a good sign. I can also see the changes in my mid-section as a result of the Callanetics ab series. My Zumba instructor was going on and on about it on Sunday, and now that she mentions it, I can see it as well. Really wish I had taken progress pictures! A before/after is always so powerful. |

You go girl!!!! I'm sure you have some pictures that you can do for comparison. As far as your push ups are you doing "man" push ups or some modified ones? You are still doing that 100 push ups or something like that series right? How many weeks are you into it now?

I think I started at the beginning of this month? I honestly don't remember. I'd like to get up to 100 modified push-ups and then move to "regular" ones. We'll see! |

I have been doing more and more of the modified push ups while doing my shred, someday I hope to be able to get enough upper body strength built that I can do "man" push ups. I did the program that you are doing about a year ago but I was having so much trouble with my shoulder that I only was able to modified ones or on the wall. My shoulder is better than it was but it is not where it should be and will be starting Physical Therapy this week so hopefully we can figure out what is going on with my right arm.

Good Mornin'! You can't see me, but picture this: I'm wearing my Carmen Miranda Fruit hat, I am shaking marachas ( not my marachas), I'm dancing around the house and singing "170's! She's in the 170's!" Shake shake shake.
Perhaps, there is Zumba in my future? Great work on the abs! I'm tellin' ya, I gotta do that too...I'm starting to sing to myself "She must be jelly 'cause Jam don't shake like that"! You are the role model for me, exercise Queen! You too, Dawn, shreddin with Jillian! Ssshhhh. I have a secret....yesterday, DH brought home a new blue ray DVD player that has what my old one has been missing,.... A REMOTE CONTROL!!! Now I can work-out with some of my best exercise DVD's now that I can get past Introduction with the click of the forward arrow. Have an amazing day....I think I may be experiencing a manic episode. Must be the hot glu for breakfast. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

179.2
Well, it's clear that I won't reach my goal of 175 by 3/31, but that's ok. I don't feel like I've failed, but I do feel like not reaching that will help me focus in April. I'll need to check my chart, but I think I started the month at 186.5, so I'll take 179 to end the month! I'd like to see some serious progress in April, though!!! Wouldn't we all.......do you hear us, goddess of weight loss? TAKE BACK THE FAT! |

![]() 180.4 today, which I figured would happen. I need to do a better job on the water. But the number does not accurately represent what is happening around here. My body is firming up and shrinking; I can feel it. I'll measure this weekend, perhaps, to take a look at the numbers for proof, but I can definitely feel it and I see it in my clothing. Size 12 is too big in the waist (unfortunately, I have a size 10 waist but a size 12 a##) and getting bigger. Progress, progress. |

I know that may not be funny to you, but I laughed out loud! You are indeed the exercise goddess! You are the Incredible Shrinking Woman! As I go through and read these posts I once again wish we could all get together and spend the evening laughing and talking. It could happen. ![]() |

CCQ-This is why I refuse to weigh yet... I know in my logical mind that my body will fluctuate naturally 5-6 lbs... But in my big ole baby psyche it depresses me and makes me feel bad. So I just can't right now.

Hi Blonde! Hope you're having a good day! Busy one here.
Though the scale is not being kind at the moment, I'd just like to ask a question: Who just purchased a trench coat in size MEDIUM? If you answered "CHRISTINE," then you are correct! I don't think I've worn a medium coat EVER in my whole life! |
