Hi Seth!

I thought I would say hello since I am your latest stalker. You responded to the thread "The real changes you have to make" and I was so encouraged by your words. I am really struggling with how isolated I have become and completely anti-social. I am working on it, but I have a long ways to go, both with the weight loss and the socialization. So....I am subscribing to this thread to watch your success and simply to, well, stalk. LOL

Thank you for being so open and honest, you helped me feel so much less lonely all of a sudden.

Well I like stalkers Elizabeth, at least on here anyway.

You know the isolation and social anxiety gets so much better when you've lost weight, at least for me it did. I no longer cared what anyone thought when I went out in public because I was smaller and the world at large does not give disapproving looks at the skinny people. It's sad, but I noticed how much nicer people were to me and how they'd go out of their way to assist me or help me while shopping.

The larger I've gotten though, the more isolated I've become and that's just no way to live. The majority of the past year, I've spent held up in my apartment watching television and eating something extremely bad for me. What kind of life is that? Sure I had friends, but I never did anything with them or declined every invitation when asked. Being healthy to me is something that's going to save my life, in every aspect I think.

So I guess I should be happy that I'm wearing a smaller pant size, but during my weigh in this morning there was no movement on the scales. Still 275lbs firm. Only four pounds in the last four weeks. Geez, this is going slower than I expected. I really do wonder if I'll make 250lbs by Christmas now.

Don't get discouraged, even though the scales might not have moved you body is losing the fat. I know I go through the scale blues to but I can tell a difference in my clothes almost daily, just keep up the great work, it will pay off in the long run.

Yeah I have to keep reminding myself that there is no deadline, I get there when I get there. I know I must have lost inches though since the jeans fit this week and they hadn't before. I guess I'm more used to a combination, inches and weight loss, not one or the other.

Another week without any movement on the scales. I'm starting to get seriously worried here. I can accept stalls, but not this early in the game. I have only lost four pounds in four weeks, none within the last two. I didn't hit stalls like this until close to 240lbs last time around. What's wrong with me?

It's already November 1st and I can't believe it's been almost four months since I restarted on low carb.

I've decided to not weigh again until the 20th of this month. Getting on those scales weekly and seeing little or no movement has done a number on me and I do not want to lose my drive in this and I fear that I'll give up if I have to keep seeing that week after week. I guess it's a gamble to only weigh once a month as opposed to weekly, but I just plan to eat clean and continue my exercise and hope for the best.

Little update I suppose. I am still around and still going strong. I havn't weighed since before November and won't weigh again until right before Thanksgiving. The scales non-movement was bothering me so much that I just said, no more. I have achieved many non-scale victories since then though, getting out of 2XL clothing and into 1XL and the size 38 jeans are getting loose and I'm sure it won't be long before I can wear my 36's again.

Just feeling great in general is such a nice thing. I am also continuing my exercise, up to 2 miles a day now and going to up that to 3 very soon.

So I weighed in this morning at 264lbs! Eleven pounds down from my last weigh in nearly twenty days ago! It's a really great feeling and on top of that, I made sixty bucks at a yard sale selling off my 2XL clothing! I'm not sure when I'll weigh again, to be honest, I enjoyed not being so stressed about the scales, though the past few days I have been nervous about what the scales would say after so long of not getting on them. I knew I had lost, but was afraid it would only be a pound of two.

I can't decide how to proceed, the time off the scales and just enjoying the non-scale victories was really relaxing, but I don't feel like I was as motivated because I know there were days when I went over my limit in carbs, nothing major, but I wasn't concerned about it because if I did gain a pound, well I wouldn't know. I think I'm strong enough to just go with it and be responsible for my ongoing loss without weighing so frequently, but we'll just have to see how the holidays go, that's always the most stressful time for anyone following a diet plan.

I got a surprise this morning and WHOOSH, I'm down another four pounds to a firm 260lbs! I have officially lost fifty pounds since I started back. I really needed this victory. I also went out and bought a pair of size 36 waist jeans and they fit really well. I'm hoping to be out of all the 38's now and just stay in 36's for a while.

Things in my personal life have taken a bad turn, my grandmother is in very serious condition in the ICU and I'm really stressed out and worried about her so any little jolt of joy is much welcomed. I really wish I could call and tell her about my weight, she's always the first one I tell and has been such a huge source of support in anything I've ever done. I'm going to go see her as soon as I'm done with work today, but she's unresponsive right now so I don't know how much good it will do. I'm just hoping and praying with everything I have that she makes it out of this. She's a very special lady and would be missed terribly if anything happens.

Thanks Sam.

There is really no update on my grandmother at the present. She is still unresponsive which is not what the doctors expected or wanted. I am still hoping for good news soon though.

Thanks.

I am happy to report that my grandmother is doing much better. She is slowly coming back to us and talking so that's a great sign. It's going to be a long slow recovery, but we are hoping for the best.

I guess I didn't think about it being only 20 days, but yeah it was. I'm not weighing again until right before Christmas and I really hope I am at my Christmas goal weight of 250lbs!

Thanks for the concern for my Grandmother Lizzie, she's doing so much better and it's a real blessing that she's made it this far. We are hoping for the best in her ongoing recovery.

Weighed in today for the last day of the challenge I am in and I am down eight more pounds to 252lbs. I was hoping for 250lbs by Christmas and I've still got a few days and I'm going to try, but if not, then I'm happy with what I've lost. It's been a rough couple of weeks and the fact that I've kept strong with my eating during it has been a miracle, lol.

I made my Christmas goal of 250lbs as of this morning! Yippie!

I have new goals for the coming year, really hoping I can make them.

1st Goal - 225lbs by March 1st
2nd Goal - 215lbs by April 4th(my 29th bday)
3rd Goal - Under 200 by August
4th Goal - 180 or lower by 11/11/11 which is the ending date of the challenge I am in.

Those are weight goals and I also have size goals which are somewhat similar. I'd love to be comfortably in size 34W jeans by February as well as in some Large shirts. By my birthday I'd love to be in a 32W jeans and only Large/Medium sized shirts. If I get down that far, I am content as far as clothing sizes go. I highly doubt I'd go any lower than that even at goal weight.

I met my January weight loss goal this morning, saw 240lbs on the scale which brings me to a 70 pound total of weight loss since August! I'm really excited to have achieved my goal and within a few days I will have met my walking goal so all in all, great month for me!

I'm slowly getting there. ONEderland is not that far off now.
