Great job on being just 5 pounds away from goal. That is a HUGE accomplishment. I am so happy for you. If you feel 170 is right for you, then go for it! .

How tall are you?? My husband is 5'8 and weighs 171. He looks super thin! He weighed 256 about 3 years ago.

I am either 5'8 or 5'9. I would say 5'9 though. I am going to shoot for 170lbs and see how I look there. I have been recently paying alot of attention to other guys at the gym who are about as tall as I am and I've even been asking how much they weigh just to get a good ballpark figure of how much I should strive for. The answers have varied, but most of them range from 160 - 170 I've found.

Basically I'd just like to finish off the extra fat around my stomach and chest. I want the man boobs gone, lol. Apparently they are the last thing to go, but I have noticed in the past few weeks that they're more flat so that's something. I'd also like to get the love handles gone and they're almost gone, but not all the way yet.

Yes I'm going to be a perfectionist when it comes to my body. I would really like to take my shirt off next summer when I go to the lake. That's a goal right there.

I'm here people, I'm here. I have been so busy the past two days and neglected my journal as well as all of yours, forgive me. I will catch up!

Everything has been good, still doing everything on plan and kicking butt at the gym. I am burning around 900 calories a day there and though it's tiring, I feel good about it. Work has been difficult this week due to a death in my boss' family and thus we're picking up the slack since she's having to deal with that. I will be glad when Friday comes around!

So glad Friday has come and gone(at least the working part). I am ready for some much deserved rest. I havn't really felt that great today, but I still made myself go to the gym and work out. I feel tired, but proud that I went.

Hey Seth - hope your weekend is off to a good start today! I admire your dedication to getting your workout in. I wish I was more dedicated to exercising. I try to get in at least 45 minutes a day but there are some days that I just feel so lazy and can't seem to get motivated to work out so I skip a day here and there. You're doing so great - I really admire how far you've come! Take care and KUTGW!

Thanks for the kind words!

Honestly, I don't love exercise, but I just know that in the end it will pay off more than anything and so I force myself to do it and don't let myself skip because I know myself and my bad habits and know that if I allow myself to slack that I'll just give up and be right back where I started. I am all about changing my whole personality and life so it's a process that I fight tooth and nail the whole way. "Fat Seth" loves to come out and try to take control of me, but I gotta fight him back down.

Seth--I just have to comment on your post, as it reminds me of one of my favorite "Seinfeld" episodes of all time. The episode is "The Opposite" from season 5, and if you haven't seen it you should. In the episode, George decides that since every decision he has ever made has been wrong, that he will henceforth do the opposite of every instinct he has. It works out splendidly for him in the episode, and ever since seeing it, I have harbored suspicions that perhaps I too should try this approach.

Reading your post made me realize that that is exactly what I'm doing right now as regards diet and exercise, as I try and kill my own "fat Bill". Thanks for sharing your thoughts and progress with the rest of us, and good luck keeping "fat Seth" at bay!

Lol, I love that, kill "Fat Seth", hehe.

I had a good workout this afternoon. It's nice to me how almost effortless it is to do an hour on the elliptical. I mean it's a workout, but it's not killing me to do it like it used to.
