The problem is that most people don't know how to mind their own business. Next time, just tell them that your body and your weight are your business. You appreciate the concern, but you are an adult who knows what's best for yourself.

That should shut them up. If not, you could always be snarky and tell them that you could recommend your plan to them since they seem to need it..but that's just snarky and mean and...sometimes fun when it comes to nosy people..LOL

Well I can totally understand the mindset to be unhealthy in my eating. I still look in the mirror and see fat and I'm not sure when that will ever go away. I'm not doing anything that is harmful to me though at all so I'm not worried about it. Yes here of late I'm trying to eat a little less and workout a little more, but I'm at a stage in my weight loss where it's harder and harder to drop any and I need to tighten up the game plan. I'm certainly not becoming anorexic or anything though, I need to eat, I can't go without it, lol.

There is always some kind of drama around here, I swear for me to be the least dramatic person, I am surrounded by those who constantly bring it.

Keep your head up Seth. Don't mind what others say... I know harder said than done. But it will do good to just ignore them. Tell them "I got this!!"

Seth still seeing yourself fat is common, trust me I still see a fat woman in the mirror. The closer you get to goal the tighter you have to control the carbs and calories. Just take it one day at a time.

Well I got an unexpected ego boost today at work. A lady came to evaluate some of the children for speech screenings and she hadn't seen me since this time last year. She actually did a double take when I walked to the door after my boss had called my name to come answer some questions about the kids. I left the room and she looked at my boss and asked if I was the same man who she had working for her last year. My boss said yes and then called me back in there. The lady was just amazed and wanted to know all the details about my diet and exercise. She even had another lady come in there to look at me, they kept going on and on about how great I looked. It was definatly a much needed praise for me after the other drama.

I felt like a diet coach as I went on and on about the wonders of low-carb.

Pushed it at the gym today, six miles on the elliptical, a mile on the treadmill, and weight machines!

Yes, people do that. I heard it from so many too. Haven't heard it in a bit though...I think they have all said it so many times they are giving up. I just let them think I am not trying to lose more. I am "maintaining" and this is my WOE now. Maybe if they hear that and that you are working on some muscle, they will shut up for you too. I think it is because of the big drop in pounds, they think you are too skinny. They are comparing you to your old self, not where you know you should be. Yes, you know yourself the best. So much has been out there about eating disorders too; they worry about that.

Just remember: It's a sign you are looking pretty darn good!

I too still see myself as fat. It will take some time I'm sure. It did help by photographing myself and making myself look at the pic.s. Most are just for me....Boy, someone's going to get a shock if I keel over and they find them It does help bring ya into reality though! The good and the bad! Comparisons of before and after help too!

It takes time hun! Just remember, we ARE all here for you!

Yay on the good comments!!!!

I had the strangest thing happen at the gym today. I walked in and the manager said hello and I said hello back and he kind of pulled me aside and asked how much time I was putting in here every afternoon. I said around an hour and a half more or less and then he got really serious and was like, it's okay to take a day off. I said I knew that, but I didn't want to get out of the habit and fall back into an unhealthy lifestyle. Well this is the guy who signed me up back in April and he said that he'd noticed how hard I was working in there and that I had dropped alot of weight since I started and he was concerned if I was getting the proper nutrition and if I was drinking alot of water. I told him I was fine and that I usually drank my liter bottle of water while I worked out. He was like, we need to up that to a full bottle and a refill. I said okay and then noticed throughout the workout that he kept looking at where I was.

Okay, I do not look *that* thin and sickly. This is driving me crazy. I know he was just doing his job and being concerned, but I am fine. This is the first time in my adult life that I've ever been this thin and sometimes I can't even enjoy it because of what others are thinking and saying. Ugh!

I guess being a little mad helped though because I did a full hour on the elliptical and burnt 835 calories in the process. Just to think, I couldn't even do ten minutes on that machine back in June until I started working out with Ashlie. I worried so much that without her help, I wouldn't be able to do it, but now I'm doing twice the amount of time we normally did on there and at a higher speed as well. I love that! I can inspire myself, lol.

Morning, Seth! I read your post about the manager at the gym and from my perspective it seemed like he was just genuinely concerned about your well being. Perhaps he should have kept his thoughts to himself but I think he meant well. Try not to let it get to you. You're doing great. Just trust that you know what's best for you and try to take other people's advice in stride. Take care and have a great day!

I do think he meant well, but all this "concern" for me of late is starting to get on my nerves. I mean what do I have to go do make people happy? If I'm fat, everyone is wanting me to lose weight, when I get thinner, they're thinking I am sick. I'm a people pleaser, can't help it, just am. It just bugs.

I'm not letting it get me down or derail me, I am as dedicated as ever.

Yes, don't let it derail you!

He was probably concerned....maybe afraid you had an eating disorder, etc. and would be bad for the gym's rep. He probably also was concerned about you too. Most likely bc he is not used to seeing ppl lose weight the way you have. He may not have seen LC in action like this! You know you are eating well. Don't worry. I think ppl have seen so much on eating disorders that they think of this when someone loses most of what they have to lose. They are so used to ppl yoyo dieting. Does he know that you LC?

Your weight is not below a good weight. My DH is just under 200 now and is 6' tall. He looks to be a healthy weight. You're a tad shorter, so you are def not too skinny...looking good....not unhealthily skinny!

Yay on using this to fuel your workout!

KUTGW Seth! You're a winner!

So glad it's Friday!

I did decently at the gym today, four miles on the elliptical and three miles on the treadmill. Today is my in between day with weights so I didn't have to do them.

Looking forward to going shopping tonight to restock the fridge. I want to try some new recipes I saw on here.

Woke up to 190lbs this morning!!!

I'm glad the hard work is paying off. I had a good time yesterday helping out back home, doing what I could to make things a little easier for my grandmother and my mother. I had to haul yardsale things to and from the storage unit three times in the heat, but it actually wasn't as bad since the temps were just in the lower 90's for the majority of the day. I'm like an old pro at moving the yardsale stuff after doing it my whole life, lol. My grandmother, bless her heart, she's always so proud of me and the weight loss and isn't quiet about it. She showed me off to everyone that walked past. She actually told the guy who does the upkeep around the apartments that I'd lost over a hundred pounds. I don't know him from Adam, but she sure had to brag on me. She made me come inside over at my great-aunts house while setting out the yardsale stuff so some of my cousins could see me. Don't get me wrong, I am proud of myself and I love compliments, but geeze, enough was enough. Everyone was happy and nice, but I was ready to just get away from it. Gotta love my Grandma though, she is my biggest supporter and always will be.

Fixing to get some breakfast started here at the house. I need to resolve to actually clean this place today and get some laundry done. I put it off and put it off, but I have no excuses at this point.

good afternoon Seth.

wow you have had a rollercoaster of a few days...the fiasco at the gym that made you feel uncomfortable..I may have a solution. Does the gym to health checks..where they check your weight, body fat/water etc..my gym does for a small fee..get one done and that will show the manager how your doing on the inside. Its not painful..lol ours took height, weight and waist/hip measurements etc, they hooked my up to a machine that measures how much fluid the body holds, it actually showed me as dehydrated, but i kind of guessed it, i was drinking a litre of water a day but was having dizzy spells and dry mouth..so kind of guessed.

You should be so happy your Grandmother is so proud of you, my 'Nanna' has Alzheimers and she cant remember me much as a child..she was my second mother, we went everywhere together, out for lunch..shopping and even sitting in when my kids were at school watching Cathering Cookson dvd's..(catherine cookson is an author from my area and got very well known). I so wish I could have that time back but its so painful watching her getting worse. she is 90 yrs old now..and even though we can still have a good laugh .. we cant go out like we used to.

A very well done for getting down to 190lbs you only have 10 more to get to your goal, you have worked hard to get there, you should be walking with your head high and I dont blame you for feeling on cloud nine..

It really is, I have a great grandmother who suffers from it.

Lunch is done. I actually managed to clean the apartment a little bit. Think I'm going to relax for a few hours and then go to the gym.
