Jen's amazing journey
I am new to the community, but want to keep myself motivated so I thought I would start this thread. I would love to have any body join in and provide tips and advice since I am so new to this lifestyle.

Today is day 7 in my new way of life. I have had numerous cravings, but they subside. This is a big reason why I began this journal. It is a way for me to keep my mind off of things that will "weigh" me down. At the beginning i had tried every fad diet...you name it. I have tried it. So, a co-worker turned me onto HCG. Initially, my goal was to lose 15 lbs, but I am down 16 in the first week of HCG diet so I am hoping for 30 lbs...(oh please, please!) Today's menu consisted of:
2 melba toasts, 1 orange, lemon pepper chicken w/ broccoli from Marie Callenders, roasted chicken with lemon pepper that i prepared at home, and cabbage so far. I plan on having an apple a little later to satisfy the late night munchies I don't really measure my food like i should, but I feel satisfied after I eat. I must say that the loading days were really hard. I loaded for 3 days, but mostly loaded on carbs and not fat. Next round I will load more appropriately to help ward off the headaches. The headaches were killer.

Today is VLCD#8 and I am down another pound. I was shocked because I ate out yesterday with my girlfriends. I had the restaurant prepare the chicken breast with no oil so I think that helped a lot. My TOM is coming up in a week. I'm not looking forward to it because of the massive sugar cravings that I usually have. Omg! I tried the baked apple with cinnamon in the microwave last night that I've been reading about in other's blogs and it was freakin' delicious! Today's menu will be leftover chicken, apple (microwaved) with cinnamon and stevia, cucumber with zero calories/zero sugar, broccoli w/lemon pepper, and bison kabobs <slurp>. I will be having an orange for breakfast and melba toast if I need a snack midday.

Just got back from the store...wow, shopping has really become hard for me. I also cancelled two outings because i do not want to deal with the food challenges. I can't wait for this phase to be over so i can be more active in my friendships. However, maybe i just need to face these situations head on and become stronger.

Oh my! I just had a great treat that I hope does not stall me. I don't do well with cottage cheese, but I really wanted a sweet treat this morning...my TOM must be lingering. He should be here in 1 more week. I sliced some strawberries with cottage cheese a little unsweetened cocoa powder with stevia. I loved it! It was like having chocolate covered strawberries...well, sorta
I will just have to wait and see if the cottage cheese works against me. Today's menu is:Chocolate covered strawberries chicken kabobs with some lemon and garlic steamed broccoli apple baked w/cinnamon and stevia green tea and massive amounts of water ![]() |

Woke up this morning and felt great. I really am sleeping well while on the HCG. I lost .5 lbs. I think the less amount of weight loss is due to TOM creeping up on me. 6 days away from TOM's visit. Today's menu:
Orange, baked apple w/cinnamon and stevia, 2 melba toasts, Pho' with beef minus noodles, and chicken with cabbage tonight. |

Well, there are no losses to report this morning. I feel like I am retaining a lot of water. 5 days til TOM's visit so I am not expecting any losses this week. Not sure what I will eat today. I have some broiled chicken, an orange, some melba toast, and broccoli still. I may try to make P2 chili tonight. That really sounds good.

Well, TOM showed up in a fury today. A bit earlier than I expected, but at least I know that is why my weight loss has come to a halt. Still at 201 this morning. I was hoping to be under 200 by now

I'm up 3 lbs today. So, I'm not too excited. I will try to not get obsessive over the scale but may be reconsidering the 40 day VLCD phase that i was thinking about doing. Today is day #21. Need some encouragement today...

Today's meal looked like this: apple, orange, tomatoes, and chicken for lunch and supper. My kitchen is in shambles right now. Maintenance is coming over tomorrow to redo the plumbing so i ate canned chicken for lunch and dinner. i hope it doesn't stall me since it is not exactly protocol chicken. I am so ready for P3. ![]() |

Thanks Deb. You are such an inspiration. I look forward to reading more about your experiment. I plan on trying this also for P4. What works for me works great! I am so glad i stumbled across your experiment.

I haven't posted in a few days because I am still evaluating what to do with the HHCG. I was constantly hungry and need phentermine to take the edge off so I decided to do HHCG my way. My starting weight is 201 and I am down to 200.4. I am not losing a whole lot over the weekend, but I did not expect to. I plan on cycling my calories to give my body a jump start in the weight loss. I also plan on continuing to use my drops. I know this is off course of the original protocol, but I have been studying and want to see what will work for me. Menu today was an egg and bacon for breakfast, chicken p2 chili and a whole avocado for lunch, some strawberries and apples for a mid morning snack, and some chicken deli cutlets rolled with swiss cheese. Supper was pot roast with mixed veggies and a deviled egg. Total was 1522 calories. Today is my high day. Tomorrow will be my low day at 500 calories. Low days I plan on eating high protein and fat without my fruit...

Your plan looks fabulous!!.. congrats on listening to your body and doing what is best for you... hang in there through any ups and downs, it will be a downward trend in the end.. especially if this is a HIGH DAY...

Today is a VLCD for me. I woke up very refreshed this morning. I love this burst of energy that I have. My hair, nails, and skin look great thanks to biotin..woohoo! Today is the first day that I “feel” the weight loss. DH complimented me several times last night on my progress. His compliments were so welcome and needed because the battle for me to lose weight has been going on for a very long time. Sometimes I just feel like crying when I look at my bottle of HHCG and say “where have you been all my life”…sorry…very corny, but true. Being overweight has kept me from participating in my life. I have always been the girl that would be hot if I lost the weight. I am ready to be sexy and look great inside and out. I will do better to post everything on my journal since I shared the link with my fellow rebels
Today’s menu: 1.5 deviled eggs, 3 slices of bacon, P2 chili recipe with chicken instead of beef Tea: oolong and chocolate smooth move (using sweet and low) Water: 100 oz so far Vitamins and Supplements: Multivitamin (prenatal because I have so many leftover from baby Rory) and Biotin |

I feel the same way about the HHCG, and I carry my bottle with me wherever I go because I love it so much... For REAL... You are young and have so much ahead of you, so I am happy as heck that you found it now! Wish I had 20 or 30 years ago.... oh well.. I can still be thinner, healthy and happy at 54... and I have a hubby who is only 42... ![]() So it's all good!! congrats on feeling so good and having a fantastic plan!

Today is day number five of the “experiment” and I am down 3 lbs total. I stabilized mostly this weekend and saw a pound and a half loss this morning. Yesterday was a low day so I stayed at 500 calories. So, this really does work no matter which way you slice it. I like having higher calorie days on the weekend so I will probably keep that rotation for a while and eat low to mid during the week. Then I will switch it up. I seriously considering starting to exercise again. I cannot say that I love to exercise, but I love the way it makes me feel afterwards…Now that I have my eating and portion control working for me; this may be a great time to start some exercise plan. The problem with me is that I don’t feel like I have the time to do it. I know once I set my mind to it that it will happen, but I am so tired by 9pm and I do not want to give up an hour of sleep to wake up earlier. I am so great at talking myself out of doing things. Hahahahaha!!! Here’s today’s low cal menu:
2 slices of bacon 4 turkey deli wraps w/swiss cheese Chicken P2 chili (love this stuff!) Oolong tea and loads of water with regular supplements |
