Hello everyone! I am still here. Just really been busy trying to investigate some things for my background screening for potential new positions. It is very important that everything line up for the new job

I've been continuing to walk to work. Today I am SORE. I thought the soreness was over...guess NOT!

LOL!

TG for Showers at work...each day I am drenched in sweat. My calories have been a bit low lately and not sure why. Maybe the heat. So, I'll weigh in tomorrow. i just hope the low calories doesn't impact my weight loss.

On of my co-workers said she noticed a difference...OMG I cannot tell you how awesome that was to hear! I am so happy all of the time.

YAY JEN!!! congrats on continuing to walk to work.. I know lots of girly grils would not want to have to shower at work.. Well you are a STAR!! Keep it up and good things shall come to you!

As for your calories.. everything I have been reading is saying you need enough to cover your BMR plus the extra exercise... I sure don't know what I believe about calories, but when I was eating too little for an extended period of time, I did not lose anything! AT ALL.. You can certainly lose on Low Cals .. but your body will eventually catch on to that..

This is the whole idea behing Eat the Food.. ( there is a facebook page which devotes itself to members EATING THE FOOD )

So many people who undereat, and diet for years and years eventually just stop losing and start to gain unexpectedly. Don't want that to happen because it seems to come back as FAT. ugh.

Anyway!! still learning the ropes, so I am no expert!.. Just do what feels right to you!

Jen it is a closed group on facebook called "Eating the Food" They will accept you right away though. Such interesting people and interesting information.

I don't know if I am allowed to post a link am I? I could PM you, it is not a site that is selling anything.

Also, here is a link to a calorie calculator that is different from any others I have seen. Again, selling nothing but if you turn those little knobs to adjust to your gender, current weight, activities that you do daily etc.. it shows you about what you should eat to stay the same and then you adjust to lose.

So according to this website....2000 calories is what I should shoot for consistently. I'll see if I can do it...I know I can with Wine!

sounds good to me too!.. you can do it, and if the scale does wierd things at first, don't panic!.. THE SCALE tells very little of the story..

I've noticed that when I have higher calorie days that it is with whole, good foods...no junk. Honestly, I don't crave a lot of junk since I've told myself I can have it. I'll have small amounts of sweets every other day or so. I would rather have fresh veggies or fruit any day of the week! I sound like I'm possessed...eeeekkk!! But, it's true I do not owe the scale anything. That scale lies to me consistently. The best times I've had when I lost weight...I didn't use the scale to determine my success. My success depended on if I succeeded within my exercise goals. Food had little to do with my previous success unless I wanted to lose a lot of weight quickly. So many times I have sacrificed my humanity for a quick dose of weight loss only to have nothing to show for the pain and torment I caused my family and friends. I made them suffer when I was on a diet....so unfair

Hi Deb!! Good morning!!

So, I had a higher calorie day trying to get to the 2000 mark a couple of times a week at least. I ended at 1500 calories which is high for me since I've been sitting around 800-1200 per day. I do not feel badly. I eat just enough and count it all. However, your post made me really think about what I was doing to my body. I do not want to lose lean muscle mass or anything else that I need to carry my body around for the rest of my life!

I still love IF, I'll just need to eat more when my window opens. I know once I start, my food burns very quickly. My metabolism is a little furnace right now...love it!

I weighed in after the higher calorie day and yes, I did add wine for an additional 350 calories! and drum roll please....down 2.4 lbs for the week!

I wasn't expecting a loss since I drank, but there's proof that higher cals work better for me!

WOW JEN!!! fantastic job! so happy for you!

Take it slowly if you need to, to see how you feel when getting in the calories.. I had a couple of days at first where I could not do over 2000, but my body started wanting more...

You are doing so awesome, just keep it up!

Thanks Lexi!! It feels so good. I know that the fasts help and now I'm going to try to get more calories in to make sure I'm eating enough.

Day 2 of 1500 calories. My goal this week is to see if I can continue to lose with 1500 calories. I'm going to be very tempted to fast on Mon and Tues...I have been doing this consistently. I guess just a mind thing...but it feels like if I do it two days in a row the scale will keep moving down. Fasting to me equals 800 cals and under. Must keep myself from fasting on Mon and Tues...my anorexic brain will not win! LOL....

That is right JEN!! keep those voices positive!!! SELF healing and geared towards your health!! This is much more important than the number on the scale.. Easy to say and not always easy to do. HOWEVER, you need to take care of your health for your sake and that beautiful family you have!!!

If you feel like you need a bigger cal deficit.. add more movement.. don't take away the FOOD!..

Just some friendly advice!!.. Want you healthy girl!..

Hi Deb!

I just read your journal. How awful regarding your daughter. Sending good healing vibes your way!!

I ate Mexican and it took me to 1700 cals so far. So, I definitely overdid the calories today, but still going to experiment with higher calories. More than likely will not eat this evening...I ate wayyyy too much for my liking. I actually feel sick to my tummy. I just couldn't stop eating. Not really a binge. The food tasted so great that I wanted to keep eating even though I was full. I threw away the seconds I brought to my office.

Now burn baby burn...that's me speaking to my metabolism
