Finally making progress with hhcg

I had a very old journal from about 4 years ago, but I decided that I needed to start a new one to keep track of my hcg experience. I'm copying and pasting the posts so far.

Low carb did not work for me. I tried and tried off and on for 6+ years. Lost the same 20 pounds over and over.

I just finished round 1 of Hhcg and guess what? It works!

Here's the intro I just posted in the hcg forum:

Hi everyone! I am an old member who's been doing Atkins on and off for 6+ years and have never had results like this. I finally feel like there is hope that I will lose this weight and never have to be fat again!

I started my hhcg at 195.6 lbs on July 23. I was 170.8 lbs the morning of day 40 and now I'm on day 6 of P3. Hubby and I did 40 days of HHCG bought on Amazon (2 bottles for $21.50). We do 8-10 drops 3x a day. We followed Dr. Simeon's protocol to the tee.

The other night, I had a fashion show for my hubby with the clothes shoved to the back of my closet. I was fitting into stuff I haven't fit into for so long. It was awesome.

Here are my final measurements!!

.........................Start.................... ........End
Left arm............14.5..............................1 3 inches
Right arm..........14.5.............................14 in (what's up with my
right arm being stubborn?)
Left thigh..........27................................. 24.5 in
Right thigh........27................................24 in
Belly................44........................... ......38 in
Hips................44............................ .....40 in
Bust................43............................ ....39 in
Waist..............36............................. ...31.5 in
above bust......36.5.............................34 in
under bust......34................................33 in
neck...............14............................. 13.5 in
knee..............14.5...........................1 3.5 in

Total inches lost ................. 30 inches!!!!!!!!

Hubby has similar results with his inches. He is fitting into crazy sizes too.
He was wearing a size 36 jeans before and now his 33's are falling off. He
hasn't been a 32 since before we got married(11 yrs ago). I am fitting
comfortably in 12's and tightly into some 10's. I was busting out of 14's
before, but refused to go to 16's. I was wearing mostly stretchy shorts.

I love the way my body is shaping up, and I can't wait for round 2.

This is all too cool for words. Never in a million years did I think we could
have accomplished this in 40 days.

So now I'm on day 6 of P3 and this morning I was up .8 lbs from my LDW. Not bad! I made one of my favorite Linda Sue recipes-Seoul Chicken and cauliflower fried rice. I'm sure it's was way too much sodium. Today is the first day of P3 that I have been even remotely hungry. I have been really snacky today and probably had too much cheese. I just missed it so much!

Even though I'm enjoying eating P3 style very much, I'm ready for the 6 weeks to be over with so I can get back to losing!

weight this morning: 172.2
LDW 170.8
difference from LDW +1.4

I finally got hungry yesterday. I was so hungry after lunch, I felt like I'd never get full. I tried to eat mostly fatty protein, but did have some cheeses too.

Yesterday's menu:

Breakfast:
coffee with HWC
2 pieces of bacon
2 eggs fried in bacon grease

Lunch:
Left-over Seoul chicken thigh and cauliflower fried rice

Snacks:
(Chuck)Hamburger patty
1 wedge laughing cow cheese
around 3 oz sharp chedder

Dinner:
grilled Pork steak
spinach and tomato salad

I know the Seoul chicken stuff is not agreeing with me probably because of the corn syrup in the soy sauce I used. I didn't realized it until after it was cooked. Around here, we are on a tight budget and can't waste food so it had to be eaten.

Yay! No steak day.

Yesterday's menu:
breakfast: coffee with HWC and bacon and eggs
lunch: hamburger patty and brocolli with homemade veggie cream cheese dip
dinner: hamburger patty wrapped in lettuce with tomato, mayo, and munster cheese

I also had 2 small glasses of red wine.

No snacks just cause I wasn't hungry.

I was really dreading the scale today. I seem to gain weight so easily.

Lunch: HUGE Taco salad with ground meat, lettuce, colbyjack, avocado, tomato, and sour cream

Dinner: southern style Dirty rice, but with grated cauliflower instead of rice.

Desert: Yocheese with strawberries and vanilla stevia. OMG this was so good.

This is so cool that my body went back to my LDW exactly. I wonder if it will stay there.

TOM is here so +.2 isn't too bad. I wasn't very hungry at all yesterday which is weird. I wore some capris that were still a little tight at the end of P2 and they were almost loose, so I guess my body is still rearranging a little.

Yesterday's menu:
breakfast: coffee with HWC, 1 fried egg, 3 pieces of bacon
Lunch: leftover dirty "rice"
Dinner: leftover dirty "rice" (I made a LOT) and celery with homemade veggie cream cheese dip
Dessert: strawberries with yocheese and stevia

Only 32 days til I can start losing again!!

My update for today:

R1,P3,D11
LDW 170.8
yesterday 171
today 170.4
difference from LDW -.6

I didn't eat much yesterday.

Breakfast: 1/2 pork steak and 2 eggs
Lunch: forgot to eat
Dinner: Grilled round steak and mushrooms and onions sauted in butter (So good!)
Dessert: strawberries with whipped cream

I haven't counted calories once with P3. I just eat only what I'm supposed to and stop when full. I said I'd start if I had trouble stabablizing. Hopefully, this trend goes well. I really didn't think it'd be this easy.

I seem to be stabilizing very well. I'm really surprised. I didn't think it would be this easy.

I am still flip-flopping between doing 3 weeks of P3 and 3 weeks of P4 and then doing round 2 OR just doing 3 weeks of P3 then doing round 2. I have at lease 25 more pounds to lose.

Some people say a 6 week break is necessary, some say they skip P4 and do fine. I can't decide. If I stabilize fine for the whole 3 weeks of P3, I'd like to get on with losing more. Any opinions?

Yesterday's menu:
Breakfast: coffee with cream, last of the "dirty rice"
Lunch: Hamberger patty and sliced cucumber with homemade veggie cream cheese dip
Dinner: Rotisserie chicken with loaded broccoli, 1 glass red wine
Dessert: yocheese with stevia, blueberries, and cream

I am skipping p4 this time because I want to get in as much p2 time as I can before Thanksgiving. Since you have such a small amount to go, you could easily lose that before the holidays, if that is your goal. Check the calendar and see what works date-wise.

You have done an AWESOME job.

I think we are going to do it. DH and I talked about it last night and we are ready to get it over with. I understand how important P4 is to teach your body how to eat sugar and starch again and will absolutely do it right when we are at goal.

I'd like to lose another 25 lbs in round 2 and may just continue in P2 until I hit that goal, not just for 40 days. That will put me at 145. I'm 5'4" so I don't know if I'll be happy there or not. It will definitely be skinnier than I've been in a long time!

I'm stabilizing better than I ever thought I would. If I was all over the place or having a hard time, I'd definitely do 6 weeks.

Yesterdays menu:
Breakfast: coffee with HWC, 2 eggs scrambled with sauted mushrooms and parm cheese
snack: handful of roasted and salted mixed nuts
Lunch: Leftover Rotisserie chicken with loaded broccoli
Dinner: Grilled pork steak and spinach salad with homemade guacamole and 1 small glass of red wine

Alright, this is just weird and freaky to step on the scale every morning and see the EXACT same number. DH is consistantly the same or lower than his LDW.

Yesterday's menu:
breakfast: coffee with HWC, 2 eggs scrambled with sauted mushrooms and parm cheese
Lunch: chicken salad (chopped up rotisserie chicken, spices, and mayo) wrapped in romaine leaves
Snack: strawberries and HWC
Dinner: Chili with fatty ground meat and tomatoes from my garden topped with sharp cheddar and sour cream
Dessert: more strawberries and HWC

WOW, I ate a LOT of fat yesterday.

Yes! It's the coolest thing ever. So differerent than any "diet" I've ever done. Only thing is being so "stable" makes me want to jump into R2 NOW!

I am now at 10 days of not going over LDW more than .4.

I am now at 4 days straight of being EXACTLY my LDW every morning. That is just weird. Can my body really be making it this easy to stabalize? I am shocked.

Yesterday's Menu

Breakfast: Leftover Mushroom spinach quiche
Snack: nectarine
Lunch: Salmon patty and raw broccoli with veggie cream cheese dip
Snack: handful of mixed nuts
Dinner: Pork rib and garlicky butternut squash (I know I'm not technically supposed to have this, but it was the first squash I have ever grown in my own garden and had to eat some)
Dessert: blueberries and blackberries with whipped cream

The only difference in this menu from previous is NO WINE.

hmmm

How the heck did I lose 2 lbs?

I guess yesterday was just a fluke. My scale acts weird sometimes.

I'm back to the magic number today.

Yesterday's menu:
Breakfast: Coffee with HWC and I tried to make ricotta pancakes but they didn't turn out so good. I ate 2 anyway.
Lunch: Leftover pork rib and garlicky butternut squash
Dinner: Rotisserie chicken and cauliflower "mashed potatoes" (with cream cheese, sour cream, butter, and topped with shredded cheddar)
2 glasses red wine

No fruit or snacks. Was busy packing all day and didn't have time.

We are in the process of packing/moving. Yesterday we were gone all day and had to stop by Walmart close to the new house to get a few things. Kids were starving and asked for Subway. DH and I rationalized that we were close enough to P4 to maybe try some bread. We shared a steak and cheese footlong.

Menu:
Breakfast: coffee with HWC, bacon and eggs
Lunch: Steak and cheese Subway sandwich
Dinner: Tex-mex chili, stuffed jalapenos
2 glasses red wine

I skipped fruit entirely after the sandwich and still gained. At least it was only .8

I'm ready for the structure of round 2 and ready to lose the last 25 lbs.

We are going to start after we finish moving next weekend. We may even use our moving days as loading days. I wish we could start this week, but I don't think we'd have enough energy for the move.

I had a huge Coke Zero from Sonic yesterday. I had done so good for 59 days. I don't know why Diet Coke suddenly sounds good to me. I will be tempted no more. My DH keeps telling me that aspartame was considered a bioweapon when it first came out. It's crazy, but true. I have always known that chemical sweetners were designed to keep people fat. It's all about the $. I just ignored it and keep drinking it. Well, no more for me!

I'm done. FOREVER.

My menu yesterday:
breakfast: yocheese with strawberries
lunch: leftover rotisserie chicken and cauliflower mashed "potatoes" with cheese
Snack: Huge Coke Zero
Dinner: Leftover Tex-Mex chili
Dessert: yocheese with strawberries

I think my scale is just jacked up. I just weighed again after eating breakfast and having coffee and it was 170.0.

I'm still not having any more diet coke.

Well, the scale is going in the right direction. I'm so thankful I haven't had to do one steak day. Not that I think it would be that bad. I love steak and hate eating breakfast so, for me, I don't think it would be that bad. However, I am just so darn thankful that my body is stabilizing at this weight. For the past 5 years, my body has really liked the 180's, so staying at 170 is monumental!

I am SO ready to start losing again. Yes, my body has reshaped a little in P3, but I'm not seeing a whole lot difference. Maybe I'm being impatient. I'm just at a point where I'm a whole lot happier with my body, but it's still nowhere near good enough. I just keep thinking about that bottle of drops and wishing I could be taking them!

Yesterday's menu:
Breakfast: coffee with HWC, yocheese with raw almonds and English toffee stevia
Lunch: chicken salad rolled in lettuce leaves
Snack: raw broccoli with ranch
Dinner: Baked chicken breast
Dessert: Cantaloupe

Another observation:

Since I had the Coke Zero the other day, my wedding ring has been tight again. Before it was so loose I was considering getting it resized. Wonder how long I'm gonna be bloated...so not worth it.

Snack: handful of raw almonds

I'm planning on loading on Sat and Sun while we are moving and starting round 2 on Monday. I'm sure we'll be eating out mostly. I try to keep the starch/sugar to a minimum and load up the fats.

Loading just doesn't sound good. Before round 1 we were so excited about loading days! We thought they'd be our favorite part of this whole "diet". Boy, has that changed. I posted this in another thread yesterday:

Quote:
What is wrong with me??

I do not have any desire for chocolate. Before I started my first round I loaded with LOTS of chocolate covered peanuts. I LOVE chocolate. Dessert has always been my favorite meal.

I keep reading about these yummy sounding chocolate treats, and have not even been interested enough to look at the recipes. This is really wierd for me.

Anybody else lose their sweet tooth?

Well, I haven't actually "lost" it, I still enjoy my English toffee stevia in coffee and my fruit everyday. I just don't really have the desire for anything else, even if it is legal in P3. This is just so unlike me.
I am so looking forward to the tiny structured meals in P2. Ha, I had to put that in writing so I can come back and look at it when I'm starving the first week!

That seems like a lot of food.

The sausage yesterday tasted gross to me. Way too salty and processed. I expected trying potatoes to cause a little gain, but it didn't!

Tomorrow is load day #1!! Not looking forward to moving though...

Finally got the computer set up!

I decided to do a 3rd loading day today. We've been moving all weekend and I don't feel like I loaded well enough. Lots of junkfood and too busy to stop and eat much. I'm loading really good today. Haven't gotten on the scale. I'm not gonna worry about it, just don't want to be starving for a week like last time.

gained 4 lbs loading

It's not as bad as I expected. We loaded for 3 days since we were moving and I didn't feel like I ate enough. We've been eating out a lot. I had pizza, donuts, ice cream, steak and loaded baked potatoes, fried shrimp, french fries, ... Not exactly the loading days I wanted. I'm very happy I only gained 4 lbs.

Yesterday, I had:
Breakfast: coffee with HWC, cheese danish
Lunch: 2 pieces fatty beef rib cooked in lots of butter with butter poured on top, 1 piece of bread with thick butter on top
Snack: tortilla chips with lots of homemade guacamole
Snack: Mocha frappe from Mcdonalds
Dinner: Chinese buffet

I am SO ready for the vlcd! I wasn't hungry at all during load days and had to force myself to eat. I had a headache yesterday and have one today. I wonder if it's the drops. It's not the diet cause I'm just now starting that.

I've got 96% hamburger thawed for lunch. I'll have a hamburger patty and sauted spinach for lunch. Drinking coffee now, black with English Toffee stevia. That takes a while to get used to.

I'm hoping to lose another 25 lbs this round.

weight today: 174

So that's down 1.8 from post load. I was hoping for a bigger loss, but I'll take it. Yesterday wasn't nearly as hard as my 1st day of my 1st P2. I literally thought I was going to pass out. Yesterday, I was a little hungry mid-day, but I kept busy and forgot about it. Had to go clean old house.

Yesterday's menu:

Breakfast: coffee with English Toffee stevia
Lunch: hamburger patty, sautéed spinach, grissini
Snack: apple
Dinner: baked Tilapia, sautéed celery, grissini
Dessert: sliced strawberries with stevia

I'm so glad to be losing again!

3 pounds!! WOW! Woohoo!!

My LDW from round 1 was 170.8, so hopefully tomorrow I'll be in new territory!! I was so hungry yesterday, I had an extra cucumber mid-day. I was craving fat SO bad. I dipped it in a little Walden Farms ranch and it seemed to do the trick. I don't like using those products much, just as an occasional thing. It was either that or cut off a piece of Colby Jack cheese, which I came close to doing.

I'm so ready for the hunger to leave. In round 1, it was about 10 days and it just totally left. I went from dreaming about my next meal to forgetting to eat my next meal. Seriously! It was awesome.

Yesterday's menu:
Breakfast: coffee with English Toffee stevia
Snack: apple
Lunch: spicy chicken and celery soup
Snack: cucumber slices with Walden Farms Ranch
Dinner: Round steak and sautéed spinach (was going to have P2 chili, but forgot to thaw out ground meat)
Dessert: sliced strawberries with stevia

I went to Sam's yesterday and stocked up. I love Sam's. Celery, fresh and canned asparagus, baby spinach, beautiful strawberries, Gala and honey crisp apples, cucumbers, chicken breasts, round steak, and Roma tomatoes. I'm all set now.

OMG. A new decade!! I briefly saw this decade on my last no dose vlcd, but it was very brief. It's going to be very weird to see this new number on the scale every morning. My body LOVES the 170's and 180's and has been stuck there for so many years. 150's Here I Come!

I'm losing better this round than I did last round. In round 1 on vlcd4 I had lost 5.4 lbs. This time it's 7! I'm so pleasantly surprised, especially since I'm not doing everything *exactly* right. These first few days, I've added an extra food in the middle of the day to get me through the hunger, legal food though. Like an extra cucumber or apple. I've also been putting a little cream in my coffee to help with the hunger too. I just moved so I have to have enough energy to get stuff done. kwim??

This round is also exciting because we have friends that just started yesterday! A couple we have been friends with for years asked us about our weight loss and decided to give it a try. They may come over this weekend and I can cook us all a P2 meal. How fun!

She and I talked briefly about our "goal weight" yesterday. I just don't know. I haven't been "skinny" since high school and I really wasn't even "skinny" then. I've always been sorta muscular and athletic.

I don't know what my goal is. I wonder where I'll be happy with my body. Since losing weight with HCG is so easy, how low can I go??

I didn't update yesterday, but woke up to a 1.2 lb loss. Today, nada. I am Estatic with 8.2 lbs in 6 days though! Day 6 of round 2 was 8 lbs, so I'm still beating that! And I'm beating DH! He has lost 7.4 lbs so far (which is exactly what he was at in round 2, weird!).

Today, I took my little boy scout out to sell popcorn. I took an apple and planned on coming home for lunch, but he was doing so good, we stayed out all day. I got home around 7:30 and was not starving. Amazing! In round 1, it took 10 days for the hunger to leave. I'm stoked that it only took 6 days this time, and I'm through it!! Woo Hoo!

Today's menu :
Breakfast: coffee
Lunch: apple
Dinner: Grilled chicken breast, melba, and cut up tomato
Dessert: strawberries
