lol, Amber! I still love my silpats, but the silicone cake pans, cupcake pans and whatever else the hell I had jammed in that cabinet were turning a funny color and they were hogging up valuable real estate. In my old age I just want to chuck everything except what I'm using frequently. Aaaaaah, that feels good!
I'll make a nice little bed in there for you, Martini. Then I'll slip you some of Janet's bean cake I'm making tomorrow. |

Weight today: did not weigh
Exercise, day 20 of 67: Nuthin. Supplements taken Food today: B: scrambled eggs, bacon L: salami, cheddar, cucumber discs w/ boursin cheese D: take out from Muchas Gracias: order of nachos sans chips & beans (shredded lettuce, steak, onions, peppers, cilantro, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, jalapeño pickled carrots) D: chocolate mousse No exercise today, still just organizing and cleaning. Hoping to have the kitchen done and the deck all summerized before the weekend is through. I’m doing it! Dinner was pizza for the guys—my son negotiated a pizza night two days ago and held me to it. My kid will probably be a lawyer like my dad. Does that run in family? It sure skipped me! My mom and I had take out from the little place in the same little strip mall as the pizza place. The girl thought I was bananas for ordering what I did, nachos with no chips? This lady is crazy. They are not nachos without chips. But, she just smiled and after much quick Spanish conversation with her two coworkers, they figured out how to make what I wanted. It was quite a lot of good food for only $6! They didn’t have a taco salad on the menu, so I had to get creative. I also really like their weird jalapeño pickled carrot slices—sounds totally bizarre but they are super tasty. My positive for the day: I actually posted a pic of myself today. YEEHAW! Success today. On to day 237! |

I make pizza on a low carb tortilla, I like all the melted cheese and toppings anyway so usually dont even eat the crust, I always liked the thin NY style pizza we get back here.
My house is a mess, having everything pulled out so I can lift things and now stuff at reach for Tony OMG it is making my head spin, LOL My GF likes to bake we are making the creme brulee again, the market had egg custard made with splenda good but covered in cinnamon, I like it plain!!! I got fresh vanilla beans so that will be yummy, I might have to pull out ang's blueberry bars and let her whip them up, LOL She is overhwhelmed at my LC stuff, LOL Those pickled carrot and jalepenos I love them!!!! I always got them in CA at Mexican places, gotta go out for Cinco de Mayo on Thursday, fajitas and I take my own LC tortilla, yummy!!!!

Good morning everyone! I love waking up and finding you all here chatting away. I've just made a fresh press of French Roast coffee, would anyone like a cuppa? I have heavy cream and about 6 kinds of sweeteners if that's how you roll! I would love to have coffee with you all.
Kitty-- yahoo for the spring cleaning! I have never been a housecleaner-- I just let it get dirty and then when I can't take it anymore (or if someone is coming over) I sweep through and get it clean again. I wish I was one of those types that goes crazy if something is dirty, but alas, I am not. I don't care, and it gets away from me so easily. Thankfully we are trained to keep the laundry rotations going and every night we have clean kitchen counter tops with all the dishes done, but that's about it. (And by "we" I mean all three of us. My husband and son clean, too. I'm so glad I don't have to take care of all this by myself!) I think once we're all cleaned up and scrubbed and put away, I will be a little more dilligent on the upkeep and try not to let it get away from me again! Amber, I looooove creme brulee! When I cleaned out my mom's house a few weeks ago I snagged her fancy torch and 8 fancy ramekins... score!! I don't know when I'll be able to give it a go, but I have the equipment now! Laura, the last time I made pizza for myself, I made "Mizza" which had a meat crust. Weird, but totally delicious. Had to be eaten with a fork, but it totally satisfied the pizza craving. I'm too lazy now to make any kind of crust-- I'll just slop it all in a bowl. Fry up some hamburger or sauasge crumbles, put them in a small pan, load on all the pizza toppings-- sauce, cheese, peppers, olives, salami and pepperoni, etc etc etc-- and broil until melty. Eat with fork out of a bowl. Pizza slop! I think about making lc pizza crust, but it just seems like a lot of work, and I have memories of of just ruining all attempts and it turning out... wrong. If anyone can come up with a tasty easy version, let me know! Diane, let me know what you come up with today! Martini-- I've been obsessing about the bean cake as well. I'll be using black beans. I think I will be making buttercream, but I'm not sure how much powdered Ideal I have left. If I don't have enough, It may just be dusted on top, or even nekkidy. I don't mind a nekkidy cake. Good luck with the sister prep! Thanks, Bethany! I know, you just moved! I bet you are still surrounded with chaos. One box at a time, right? I'd come help you if I could, but I've got my own chaos to deal with. ![]() Best coffee klatsch ever! ![]() Last edited by glamazon; 05-01-2011 at 08:27 AM.. |

I would LOVE a cuppa!
And for the record, I am well aware that you wear the pink cap because you like to. Those onions were just an excuse. You are so busted with that! ![]() Talk of your super organized and de-cluttered kitchen is making me jealous. Unfortunately, it's NOT making me motivated! Have a fabulous day glam-o-rama-in-pink-cap and friends! DG |

*raises hand* Yes please with cream and stevia
![]() I had decided to make orange cranberry scones and hubby pulled me aside on my way to the kitchen and asked me what I was up to. He didn't know what scones were so I tried to explain...starting with "well they are usually for breakfast..." which he immediately answered with "Pancakes? I want pancakes!" ![]() He wanted full carby pancakes but we comprimised. I made almond flour pancakes...which were a @%$#! as they dont want to flip easy. Then I made a simple syrup and combined it with his Mum's bueberry jam and then whipped some cream with my new powdered erythritol. For my pancakes I combined a few teaspoons of LC strawberry Jam with Banana DaVinci syrup and then slathered on the cream. We were both happy campers! Have yet to venture back into the kitchen for the scones...or the crackers I want to try. I still have to finish my dyeing...too. much. to. do. today! |

Mmm, pizza....
Hubby and I have tried two recipes that we like so far. The first is a deep dish pizza, which was nice and significantly less work and the other was that cauliflower pizza crust that seems to be popular on the boards. I don't even like cauliflower, but it tasted remarkably like pizza crust. Mine didn't crisp as much as I like, so next time I'll probably cook at a lower temp for longer. If you guys haven't tried either one, I'd definitely recommend them. Nom nom nom! ![]() Got any plans today, Ang? I can't believe how gorgeous it is today! Probably gonna spend the whole day getting the yard and garden ready, but I totally want to just hop in the car and head for the beach. ![]() Hope you ladies have a great day!

It is super beautiful today! We headed to Lowes and picked up some minor stuff to spruce up the yard and house with. Now we are all loafing around! We tend to do that a lot. The guys are out front shooting hoops, my mom is rooting for Boston over Miami and I just finished making Janet's bean cake.
I used Lauren's Healthy Endulgence recipe for chocolate cake-- thought I'd give that a try first. I made it exactly as written-- except I forgot that weird little tablespoon of water she wanted me to throw in right at the end. The batter seems pretty liquidy already, so hopefully it won't make or break the recipe. It's a very strange recipe, I had to read and reread it to make sure I did it right. The batter tasted okay (I used Steviva) and looked okay (looked like chocolate cake batter) and now it's baking. So, fingers crossed! |

O.M.G! I have no idea how that bean goop turned into a gorgeous chocolate cake, but it sure did!! The smell is heavenly!! It looks divine!! My mom is impressed as hell, but she doesn't know it's made of beans. I'm not going to tell her until after she eats it. heheheheh

Got any more of that wonderful smelling coffee?
Yep, feels like a chat in the kitchen or on the porch with good friends That's how I do a lot of my crustless/bunless/shell less stuff. Just throw it in a bowl and use a fork or spoon. Not too fancy, but mmmmmmmmmm!!! Friend made brownies with the beans one time. Was pretty good. It was a GF recipe, but could easily be converted to LC. I so want to try LC pancakes. Haven't attempted them....yet Still got to get my exercise in.... Had to run to town for DH's meds. Of course, he ran out today and didn't tell me sooner! Grrrr.... |

Ang- pour me a cup please, cream and 2 drops of ezsweetz!!!!!
You like the Police too? Sting has been my love since 7th grade!!!!!! The creme brulee is so easy 9 egg yolks 1 c of spenda- or whatever equals that for your sweetners Beat well In a saucepan very low, 1 qt Heavy cream seeds of one vanilla bean heat til a simmer slowly add to egg yolks making sure not to scramble them with it being too hot. Whisk briskly it should start to look thick but is still runny Fill ramekins 3/4 full set in a deep roasting pan, fill water in around the ramekins in the roating pan, about 1/2 way up their sides. bake at 325 for 40 minutes, check 1/2 way through and cover with foil if getting brown on top. Chill then top with splenda brown sugar and torch I dont know how your sweetners will torch, but the splenda brown sugar works fine, I cant wait for mine!!!!! I need a good recipe to try with Chris here what should we try? Diane I have one pancake recipe I really like, let me look for you!!!! Amber |
