lol, Majella. It makes me tired looking at it, too. It was actually just one hour each day-- an hour I used to just spend sitting on my butt perusing LCF or FB, swilling coffee, feeling guilty that I wasn't sewing or cleaning or...working out at the gym. I am a champion grade A lazy ass. WAS! Now I'm a grade B.

Weight today: 249.2
Exercise, day 12 of 67: morning dog walk 20 minutes elliptical 40 minutes weight room Supplements taken Food today: B: scrambled eggs, large sausage patty L: leftover ground turkey, caramelized onions, cauliflower, shredded sharp cheddar, crispy fried onions D: pot roast, onion gravy, salad w/ green leaf & red leaf lettuce, green onion, cucumber, artichoke hearts, daikon, parmesan, crispy fried onions, homemade creamy garlic dressing (mayo, sour cream, olive oil, pomegranate wine vinegar, fresh garlic) Gym report: Yep, I went. TWO WEEKS of EXERCISE SUCCESS! So pleased with myself. It’s hard crawling away from the slug queen I’ve been for decades. I wish I had started doing this last September, but realistically, I couldn’t have done it. I wasn’t “there.” I would have crapped out and been right back to the daily high carb binging. So, I’m okay with the fact I had to take 6 months of doing nothing but eating low carb food, to really solidify my WOE before I started going to the gym and the pool. Some people are strong enough to just go gangbusters right away and sustain it for quicker success, but I’m not one of them; I’m okay with my slowpoke method. I’m feeling good, sleeping well and eating really really really ridiculously well. Here’s dinner pics—whoa, it looks like I just busted open a can of Alpo for dinner. I didn’t, I swear! I diced my pot roast slice and then slathered on the homemade gravy (made with the drippings, which included some red wine.) It was freaking delicious! Too bad it looks so awful. Sorry. ![]() My positive for the day: two weeks! TWO WEEKS! I love feeling like a success. I could get used to this! Success today. On to day 230! |

248.6! oooOOOOoooOOOOo I really like seeing that number go down! It's been so long! I have forgotten how freaking GOOD that feels!
![]() Good morning, Martini! What you doing this morning to make you sweat? He'd better make you breakfast, and his name had better not be Jive Ass Mofo. Thanks, Bethany! Yes, 5 minutes counts! Don't over do it, or you'll just crap out. eeeeeeaaaaaase on into it, that's what I had to do. Do you think I'm vigorously working out at the gym or pool like I'm Michael Phelps on the Biggest Loser? shyeah, riiiight. No, it's more like Betty White on Ikebana Arranging. Diane I am so glad your hip feels better! Baby it! Be gentle with it so that healing can be solidified-- don't do too much, too soon! You can do this! Laura! Yeah! |

My sister just called-- she got a spiral ham (with separate sugar glaze omitted!) and asparagus for tomorrow, with Boursin cheese on veggies for an appetizer. I'm bringing a big LC cheesecake and some kind of cheesy bacon cauliflower dish thingy. Should be a lovely day! We got my son a basket, but we usually fill it with toys, and just a few pieces of quality candy. (This time it was a Green & Blacks bar, Paul Neuman organic peanut butter cups, some new sunglasses, crayola markers, a light up pinwheel pen, and a Brandon Roy white Trail Blazers Jersey he has been wanting for several months now.) I walked through the easter Candy aisle and I just. couldn't. do. it. It just looked like gross chemical pellets to me. Frankly, my son would trade all the candy in the world for that Jersey!

Weight today: 248.6
Exercise, day 13 of 67: evening dog walk Supplements taken Food today: B: scrambled eggs, sausage crumbles L: leftover pot roast slice w/ mayo and sharp cheddar D: hot wings, sour cream dip, salad w/ green leaf, parmesan, daikon, green onion, artichoke hearts, cucumber, creamy garlic dressing DAMMIT! I ruined my cheesecake. I baked it at 325 and not 300 as I should have—it’s too brown on the top and will probably have a crappy texture. OVERBAKED CRAP! That’s what I get for just glancing at the recipe instead of really reading it again. My last few family get together desserts have been crap. What is the deal? I know everyone will still eat it and say it’s fine, but frakking hell! Can’t one thing I’m trying to show off turn out lovely? Hrmph. Ah, well. Thanks for letting me rant. I feel better now. My day was just fine, otherwise. My positive for the day: Gorgeous gorgeous summery day here in Oregon! I felt like doing stuff today! That’s new. Success today. On to day 231! |

I second that. It was sooo beautiful in Oregon today! As soon as I rolled out of bed and saw the sunshine peeking through my window, I couldn't wait to get busy.
![]() So sorry to hear about your overcooked cheesecake. I'm sure it will still taste wonderful, but I can definitely understand the disappointment. ![]() Hey lady, last night after I posted my reply, I turned on the work out game and told myself just 5 mins. Well, I guess all it took was just getting started because I ended up doing the whole 20 min work out. Of course, my thighs/legs are even WORSE today, but that's to be expected since I've been inactive (read: lazy) for so long. So thanks for the little push. Now if I can just get myself to do it again tonight.... ![]() Hope you have a wonderful Easter my friend!

Hello there Angela, sorry you had problems with your cheesecake. I'm glad the day is beautiful there though. We aren't doing anything special around here, D has been hooked up to the basketball games non stop yesterday and I think it will probably be the same today. He has some kind of membership where he can get the games and watch them when he wats so he has a whole lineup and he is such a basketball nut! He is happy though. It is so nice to see him take a rest for once!

Thanks, All! Everyone stay calm around the carby dishes!
Bethany, WAY. TO. GO! I know how hard that is-- so excellent! Maybe you can do something different-- and more relaxing-- tonight, like walk around your neighborhood? It helped me a lot to mix it up. When I was doing the kinect every day I burned out fairly quick, even though the game was expensive and it was fun. Did you know that you can change the little "dancing blob" (as I called it, that's what I looked like!) to a mirror image of yourself? I think you have to tap your foot in that circle while setting up, and you can change colored blobs or to a reflected image of you. Diane, is he watching American basketball or European? We love basketball, too, and it's the playoffs right now-- the Blazer game last night was ASTONISHING! Down by 23 and they roar back to win practically at the buzzer. Brandon Roy got 18 points in the last 3 minutes! AMAZING! I'm still geeking out about it. (BTW, we have Nicolas Batum on our team, I know your husband knows who he is! I looooooove Nic!)
