Angela,

Wow, lady, great work hanging in there!!!

I am on a multi-year mission of weight loss. Ugh, it is so hard for me to lose weight. Everytime I find a formula, it works for a spurt then quits. It has taken me over five years to lose this weight (my doc put me on LC in 2005, he's on the paleo diet Neanderthin).

What I have in my favor is I never give up, never!!!! <shaking fist vigorously>

I'm investigating problems and solutions so hard now, I feel like "the fat whisperer."

Martini, IKNOWIKNOWIKNOWIKNOW! New decades! Virgin Weightloss! We are totally doing this and we're gonna make it, and keep it! You get the ladder, I'll get my shiny spandex pants. SIDE PONY!

Bethany! Thanks!

oooooh nooooo KT, you have massive stalls, too? I am so sorry! What you've lost already is pretty wonderful, if you don't mind my saying. Congrats on never giving up and never surrendering either! Can you imagine where we'd be if we just gave up because we got discouraged one day? NO THANK YOU. I've been there over and over since 2004, and I'M DONE. Time to be glamazons again. (too bad it takes so damn long. )

Here's dinner-- it's a little odd-- we had a busy evening and just had bbq patties for dinner. I was going to make a cheeseburger salad or something (again, I know, we're boring) but I didn't have my ususal fixins. So, I sliced the patty up, and made 4 individual little lettuce wraps. Each one has a large red lettuce leaf smeared with mayo, dijon and a bit of ketchup, then a slice of dill pickle, a slice of sharp cheddar, the burger bit, and a piece of bacon. Oh, it was tasty alright, but really it should have just all been chopped up in a bowl. NAPKIN, PLEASE!

Heh, yep, slow as heck on the weight loss. I think I spent most of 2008 around 265!!!! I was afraid that was going to be it.

I have this thing where I lose in a spurt then maintenance is even a struggle. Oh yes, I am a bigger hold out than the dang fat cells, sometimes I imagine they are nonchallantly suffocating, but acting like they are going to win, holding onto water for months, just to try to psyche me out and give up and feed them.

Ha!

Never.

They know where they can go.

Angela, so happy to see you still down in the 40's. Way to go! The little old lady in the weight room sounds like a hoot! Too funny! What I get a kick out of over here are the guys in their bicycle outfits in day glo colors and skin tight. Hilarious! They drive by in packs and I just have to giggle. Not sure how they dress over here in the gyms as I have never been to one and they seem few and far between.

I need another new avi-- glancing over at my cute little 5 year old self, I always think, Ah, nuts-- she has no idea what her older self is gonna do! And she also has no business writing about glistening sausages in Tiggy's journal.

Off to find a better pic!

There will be brownies tonight. Oh yes, there will be brownies.

I guess 10 days of nice clean organized eating is my breaking point. We'll see how my poor quivering 249.4 scale will handle it tomorrow. Well, it will just have to deal. Sometimes a girl just needs a brownie.

Weight today: 249.4

Exercise, day 11 of 67:
morning dog walk
55 minutes lap swim

Supplements taken

Food today:
B: scrambled eggs, large sausage patty, strawberries, apple slice
L: leftover sirloin patty, blue cheese, green & red leaf lettuce, daikon, cucumber, celery, strawberries
S: strawberries, sharp cheddar, sirloin patty w/ mayo & Dijon, daikon
D: ground turkey, caramelized onions, cauliflower, shredded sharp cheddar

Pool report: Yep, I went. Very nice relaxing swim, had the deep end nearly to myself. I timed my swim, it took just about 30 seconds to swim the width of the poolóabout 40 feet I guessóI know the length of the pool is 25 yards. My hamstrings are really tight, despite all the stretching Iím doing. I guess I just have to keep stretching and keep working Ďem!

I had fruit todayóit looked so pretty as I prepared it for my son, so I had some, too. Itís been a while, and it was just perfect! Then I went swimming and burned it all away. Sweet! I also had two more with lunchóbecause Iím a rebel and like to walk on the wild side. Then I plowed through the rest of them like there would never be another strawberry on the planet ever again. Oops. I binged. DANG IT! I thought I could handle, but nope. I. ATE. THEM. ALL. Note to self: do not buy berries. Do not think ďOh, they are just for husband and son.Ē We all know husband and son arenít getting any. Just donít buy them. Just donít. Later, later, later. (I didnít do a bad thing, of course, they were just strawberries, but it is behavior Iíd like to see go away! Iím sure the rest of my family might enjoy some strawberries, without me hogging them all down like a psycho.)

Then thereís the brownies.

I am clearly a very hungry person today. This exercise is really making me want to eat more. Iím trying to time it well so Iím not eating EXTRA unnecessary food, but sheesh I wanted to eat the whole house today, with actual physical gut knotting hunger, not the nonsense munchies. Luckily I planned ahead and donít have much in the way of grazing foods hanging around. Could it have been the strawberries? Possibly, but the more obvious culprit is the exercise. My parasitic organism (my fat) is quaking that itís not getting fed enough. You know, my lunch wasnít very fatty, maybe that contributed. Hmmmmm.

Whatever. Apparently, this is a pig out day. Tomorrow, it will be back to three meals of clean eating. INSPIRED BY AMBER! The Queen of Getting Right Back to It!

My positive for the day: Iíve shaved more in the past two weeks than I have all year. This is something my husband appreciates.

Success today. On to day 229!

Angela, I'm with you... I think it is probably the exercise and the changes happening in your body that are making you hungrier. Today is the first day I exercised in... oh gosh, I don't remember the last time? It's been THAT long. But I noticed the same thing! I had a short work out after dinner and afterwards you'd think I hadn't eaten all day, the way my belly was grumbling.

Oh man, strawberries are my greatest weakness in terms of fruit/berries! In fact, I just planted 10 strawberry plants... won't see any fruit until next year, though. If it's been awhile since you had fruit, maybe that's part of the reason why you binged?

Mmm, your sirloin lettuce wraps look sooo good! I wish we had some beef in the house, I'd go make me that salad you posted the other day. Can't wait to try it, but we have to get to the store first.

Fell right back to my new decade. *09.4. Goosh I really wanna tell Amber we can do it. Not eat the Easter Gooodies. BUT since we got no reason to lie in here.......I'm scared of Easter!!! I don't wanna go back!!! But there will be corn puddings and mac n cheese and sweet potato casserole. A bread pudding or cobbler. *SIGH* I'm just trying to be as good as possible up to Sunday. I'll walk today, tomorrow and 3 days next week. Cause I'm having some of it all. Not alot. Just like a lil baby scoop.

LOL, Martini! You sound like me last thanksgiving at my sister's house. My plate was piled with turkey and veggies-- and then there were little tablespoons of stuffing potatoes cranberry etc around the edges of the plate. I survived just fine! I didn't even think about Easter and food... how cool is that?? But now that you mention it... uh oh! Nah, I don't think there will be anything high carb like what you're having. I'm making an lc cheesecake, sister making turkey, I think maybe bread rolls will be there for the few high carbers? Stay strong, Martini! You can do it!! Just take little bites of the sinfully delicious comfort family carbs so you don't go insane, and then just move along to a giant serving of some spectacular low carb dessert you'll bring.

So, my strawberry and low carb brownie binge didn't do anything-- whew! 249.2 this morning. Low carb binges FTW! (psychologically, anyway.) So, right back to business, then.

Amber you are fine, you have always been able to get right back to it. But, if you need some bacon slapping, I'll be right here for you!

Diane-- LOL!

Laura-- I don't have any current pics that are acceptable to me. I have some from a few years back when I was the same weight, but I'd rather stick one up that is current. I'll pretty myself up this weekend and make sure I get some pics to share.

Hurray Bethany! Are you joining me on my exercise quest also? "a little something every day" is what I'm going for. Today I have the gym, and then the weekend to chill out and only walk the dog.

Have a fabulous day, ladies!

Hey girl you are doing great!!! If you are hungry eat! Just eat something "good for you". LOL, maybe making a green smoothy with some coconut oil in it after work outs would help?

One snack that stops gnawing hunger in it's tracks for me is:
1/4 Granny Smith Apple, sliced thinly
1oz Crispy Walnuts (Sally & Mary's Recipe)
1oz String Cheese

I swear the Mean Hungries have no chance against that formula for some reason!!! You can still enjoy berries without bingeing hon. I know ya can! You are doin so awesome! And I'm so happy bout the new decade for you! Wooohooo great exercising girl!

Martini I that you are in a new decade girl! And I that you and I are in the WPP together (Witless Protection Program). I think I saw you walking "there" yesterday!

Amb - have a great weekend with your friends and don't fret!! You will be back down by week's end!
