Thanks for all the encouragement, ladies!
![]() I did make it to swimming today! WOOOOOOHOOOOOO! I hit the noon lap swim, was in the water at 12:00 and out at 12:55-- my lane mate was the sweetest cutest octogenerian ever, with her bright pink bathing suit and flowered cap. Adorable! Of course, this messed up my sewing time, but I thought getting the swim in was more important today. Anyone else exercise today? Laura? Treadmill? Diane? Hip stretches? Martini? Dancing? Not you, Amber-- You relax! |

My Baby was a Waterbug!!!! Soooooo Proud of you. Wow the mom situation. I;m glad its working out. Just baby steps. try not to overload her and do it with love and positivity. How wonderful she had a breakthrough to make a change. so understand the whole "not wanting it bad enough". Its so much more than that. It's not easy and sometimes people don't understand. Hang in there with her. Your a good daughter yes you are...yes you areeeee....LOL Welp.....I got home late. 8:45...chatted 10 minutes..then said GIT IT UP MISSY!!! I said if I can just do 20 minutes to start thats great. Well I decided to keep pushing 5 minutes sat a time. And when I saw I was 7 minutes shy of 40 I got a second wind!!! FORTY FREAKIN MINUTES!!!! I didn't have on shoes so my knees didn't hurt as much as when I'm out on the dance floor. Eating wasn't what I wanted today but tomorrow...YIPPPEEEEE!!!! Weight today: did not weigh
Exercise, day 2 of 67: morning dog walk 55 minutes lap swimming Supplements taken (today's mix: cod liver oil, amino blend, multivitamin, cal/mag x2, b-complex, biotin, astaxanthin, CoQ10, emergen-c lite, leutein, glucosamine/condroitin, CLA, apple cider vinegar -- more than ususal, just trying to clear out the cupboard and simplify!) Food today: B: scrambled eggs and bacon L: leftover cube steak slices w/ Tabasco sauce, daikon D: hot wings, salad w/ romaine, avocado, tomato, cucumber, blue cheese, olive oil, balsamic So, here is a real report! I will get back to it tonight. I didn’t weigh, because I hate my scales. I don’t trust them. I’m shopping for a new one, but no hurry. I figure I’ll give my new “program” a whole month before I weigh and measure again. I’m assuming I’m still floating around the low 250’s—meh. Hopefully only eating proper meals and getting my butt out of the house to get some exercise will help get me going again. Enough with the maintenance already! I was concerned that my higher activity level would make me “hungry” but so far not at all. I am taking my aminos, that may be helping, but I have also carefully planned the timing of the exercise—after a big breakfast and before a big lunch. So, if extra hunger is there, I just squash it with a regular meal that is very filling. I am a little achy right now, but I am trying to keep my muscles stretched to keep it at bay. I’m good. Swimming today was pretty lax—I was in the slow lane with a sweet old lady and I was perfectly comfortable there. I didn’t bother to count how many laps I did—I just did 55 minutes back and forth, only pausing to stretch at the deep end every so often. Tomorrow is back at the gym again, and I’m okay with it. I’m not all excited, but I’m not dreading it. That’s something! Maybe I just like my cool new shoes. My positive for the day: I have the very dearest internet girlfriends ever! Thanks for your help today. ![]() Success today. On to day 220! <<<< 220 low carb days!Last edited by glamazon; 04-12-2011 at 09:03 PM.. |

And then take pics for us, LOL Make sure you are using a rinse for your hair, I know when I swam I always had green hair, not sure if that affects auburn beauties!!!! booty smashes hun!

Woo-Hoo Congrats on the hard work girl...you are working it now
![]() I have been good and doing my exercises in fact I have even ventured into forbidden territory. I did Sweating to the oldies day before yesterday and made it 15 min. OK dont laugh, I know it wasnt much but I DID IT! Then yesterday I did a whole 20 min of callenetics. Neither of those so far is very hard on my hip. If I get to a part that seems to not be good for it I will just skip it. I can't continue to just sit here and let my muscles atrophy. I also want to look into tiggys suggestions for chair exercises. We can do this girls, especially if we have each other to help cheer us on ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Angela, so glad you were able to talk with your mom and that it went well. She's taking a great first step!
Yay for swimming! Martini, dancing for 40 minutes??!! You go, girl. I've done my arm exercises twice this week and my leg stretches twice also. That's the good news. Bad news is my kiddo has strep throat. I took her to the ped on Monday and the rapid strep was negative. So sent her to school yesterday only to get a call from the doctor as soon as I got home saying the test turned positive overnight and "You didn't send her to school, did you?" Um, yeah. So, back out on the highway to pick her up and she was in the middle of art class and not at all happy. Then pick up the antibiotic and then home to try to work with a grumpy, strep-laden 6-year old. ![]() Anyhoo, I'm still on plan but haven't weighed this week. I do have a question though for anyone who wants to chime in regarding the multivitamin they take. I have a problem with multivitamins and have tried many, including prescription ones, but they always make me nauseous and sometimes I even throw up after taking them. Is there anyone else with a sensitive stomach who can recommend one that won't make me barf? On that pleasant note, have a great day everyone! ![]() |

I use Rainbow Light-- very gentle and never a problem, even on an empty stomach. Try to buy one that is NATURAL and made from food sources, not artificailly created in a lab. I've noticed that the cheapy synthetic kind always hurt the tummy, at least for me. Maybe try to find one that is coated to protect the tummy? There are a lot of brands out there that are designed specifically not to hurt the tummy. Also, if you are super sensitive, make sure you take them with food.

Thanks, Amber! I just draft a pattern, slice and dice the fabric, and put it all together like a 3d puzzle. Easy peasy! Just kidding. NOT easy peasy. Anyway, now I have to get busy and make a new one. This French blue and gold damask I have here is yelling at me from the corner.
Just got home from the GYM. Yahoo for me! I was off schedule today because I had an extra long breakfast with my mom and we went through the mood cure tests together. She is a tough nut with her head in the sand, but she's begrudgingly willing to do what I tell her, so there's that. Now I'll spend the rest of the day cleaning the house-- I'm a pig, and not the cute little pink kind with the curly cue tail. |

GOOD JOB!!!!! I have to do my effort for the night. I'm torn between cleaning and the dance. Glammy I listen to old 80's hip hop and a house music CD my sis gave me. I couldn't believe I made it. Wow you are doing great! I think I will break out the panini press and press up 2 sandwiches. One for dinner and one for lunch/breakfast tomorrow. I get to eat lunch until late. I ended buying the worst chicken salad on salad EVER. Ewww. Laura would have been horrified.

Weight today: did not weigh
Exercise, day 3 of 67: morning dog walk 20 minutes elliptical 40 minutes weight machines Supplements taken (same line up as yesterday) Food today: B: scrambled eggs and bacon L: albacore tuna mixed w/ mayo, dillweed, garlic, green onion, cracked pepper; daikon & avocado D: parmesan crusted mahi mahi fillet, scampi, homemade tartar sauce, artichoke Gym Report: Yep, I went. The elliptical was hard for the first 5 minutes—I felt I was on there for 6 billion years and I looked down and CRAP! Only 3.27 minutes. But I didn’t stop, I just kept trucking until it said 20 minutes. I was on the very lowest easiest level and had a nice easy pace. There was a lady behind me on the treadmill who was just BOLTING on that thing like she was being chased by dogs. Sheesh. I wonder what that’s like. Not the being chased by dogs part, but, you know, being all athletic and stuff. At least she had my magnificent ass to stare at while she was running from them. The weight room was nearly empty, I made the rounds to the machines and did just the lowest possible weights… well, except the thighs. Apparently I have the thighs of a she-hulk and could move the pin down several notches. Sweet! At least there’s one machine I’m not a total wuss on. Eventually the weights will get heavier, but as I’m such a flabby n00b I don’t want to overdo it and be sorry later while I’m trying to loaf around at home and watch Firefly reruns; it would hurt adjusting the comfy pillows. I’m doing okay without snacks. WHEW! I thought I would be going bananas tearing the kitchen apart looking for something-anything-gimme-gimme-now to shovel down… nope. Not feeling it! So pleased for myself. Sleeping well, which is also so huge. The last month or so I’ve needed a melatonin to sleep. The last few days I’m just out in less than 30 minutes. Love that! Hhhmmmmm, I think the three meals and exercise are working! It’s just so SHOCKING, I know! We should tell people about this! Now if I can just drop some weight, I will be the most sunshiny happy gloriously delirious annoying girlfriend you’ve ever had. My positive for the day: So far, so good! Going to the pool tomorrow morning and I am A-OK with it. Success today. On to day 221! |

About all this "working out," I am so worried about burning out, I am taking it pretty easy at this point. Over and over in the past I went gangbusters and YAHOO I'M DOING IT LOOKIT ME GO! and then a few weeks later I'm back to doing nothing and chastising myself for not doing it, and burying myself in Oreos from the guilt. So, getting out there and doing something Monday through Friday-- every week, for weeks and weeks and months and months-- will really be quite an amazing feat for me. I think the key for me really is just starting super slow, not pushing, just getting there and doing a little something. I am doing the very lowest levels of the elliptical and the very lightest weights on all the machines. Eventually I'll just step it up little by little... but for now I'm pretty pleased I manage to shave my legs, put on clean workout clothes, tie up my pretty new shoes, fill up my water bottle, LEAVE THE HOUSE, get in the car and drive, ending up in a place that wants to help me get healthy.
WOW. It took me 6 months of plain low carbing to reach this point. I'm so glad I never gave up! I you ladies for helping me! |
