R2P2VLCD1 is over and I am down 5 pounds
this morning! Only 1.5 to go to get to my LDW and enter new territory. I drank a lot of water yesterday, plus I used lemon for the diuretic effect. I was in the bathroom most of the day. ![]() I felt just awful yesterday. I had the carb/sugar hangover and I was unbelievably tired. I took 2 small naps and ended up going to bed around 9. I slept most of the night but was wide awake at 6. Yesterday's menu: chicken, cucumber, apple, melba chicken, cucumber, apple, melba I ate the same thing for both meals yesterday. I was so tired and had so much brain fog that I just didn't care. I need to go to the grocery today. I miss the shakes!

Thanks ladies.
You know, I need to take something back. A few days ago I said I hadn't noticed any p3 reshaping. That's not true. My body is curvier than before and my face is thinner. I wish I had taken pictures at the end of p2. This time, for sure... Last edited by Gilded Lily; 09-14-2010 at 09:07 AM.. |

Thanks ladies!
I finished R2P2VLCD2 and I was down 3 more pounds this morning. Since I gained 6.5 in loading, the 3 today and the 5 yesterday puts me at 1.5 below my LDW from R1. New territory! Yesterday's menu: chicken, apple, melba Biz's shake I still feel horrid today. |

Fantastic losses, but icky that you're feeling so horrible. Hopefully that'll pass soon, detox is a butt.

Good morning, guys, and thanks for the encouragement.
It is SO appreciated!I finished R2P2VLCD3 and I am down 1 pound this morning giving me a total of 2.5 lost. Looking back, this is shaping up to be the same pattern of loss as last round. Yesterday's menu: chicken, cucumber, apple, melba Biz's shake I don't know about you all, but I am so weak on p2. I upped my potassium to 6 per day. I still feel as weak as a newborn kitten. I don't see how people exercise or do heavy work on this protocol. It wipes me out. |

Try also taking a B complex vitamin and possibly L-glutamine. You're getting enough sleep and water right? Congrats on the pound lost, but sorry you're feeling so weak.

Brenda you really knocked off that loading weight fast! WOW! congrats! As for the weakness, I felt that so badly in round 1 my knees actually hurt so bad I could not stand it.. no idea why the knees though? Anyway, add what you need to add to make yourself feel better. One oz of protein extra helped me to feel better... but YMMV.
Hang in there! |

I have to admit something. I am so inept when it comes to vitamins and such, I don't even have a clue.
Before starting this protocol, I'd never taken anything in my whole life. I only figured out to take the potassium last round when I had such bad episodes that sent me to bed with nausea and weakness. Quote:

Hmmm, I seem to be one of the few with weakness issues. My nephew hasn't had a problem either. I haven't been taking anything other than the potassium. I need to write all these suggestions down. I will start taking a multi. Probiotics on p2? I thought that was p3? I am so confused. ![]() I found the Yerbe Mate! Kroger is much better than WalMart for some of these things. Yes, I do know what heavy work that is at the d.c. I was lucky enough to tour it once when dd was in grade school. I would seriously pass out if I had to do that work on p2. No way I could handle it.No extra protein yet. I will today if I need it! |

I finished R2P2VLCD4 and I'm down another 1.5 this morning, giving me a net of 4 pounds. That puts me at 30 lost since starting.
So strange, but looking back at my records the weight loss has been almost identical to the first round. Every single day. Yesterday's menu: taco salad, apple, melba scrambled eggs w/rotel & spinach I have such bad brain fog, I feel like I have no brain at all. And I'm going to try balancing my checkbook. This should be fun. ![]() |

I think you should look into starting probiotics as it sounds like you have Candida die-off (brain fog, weakness etc).
The reason I specified B12 is because a good friend had B12 deficiencies that made her weak, and only taking shots at a doctor's office helped (immensely!). I'd like to second the extra serving of protein, at least until the weakness passes. It's a documented (in P&I) side effect that blood sugar can lower dramatically which could also cause your symptoms. There's a wide variety of things that could cause weakness, most of which may only be found through bloodwork etc, but I hate that you're going through this. Is the weakness any particular time of the day? Maybe move a meal to coincide with the time.

Sassy, thank you so much for helping me! I appreciate it very, very much!
I know that something is off. Remember the poster, Tay, that quit because she passed out. I feel that faintness often. I am going to start taking a multi and I will look into the probiotics. I have some that I bought for p3 but didn't use. As soon as I hit p3, my stomach was awesome and I felt like a new person physically. No more weakness! Do you think it could be my electrolytes? (Another subject I know very little about!) I can't seem to find a happy place between my sodium intake and my weightloss. Plus, I have IBS-D and Bernice will not leave me alone on p2. Could I be drinking too much water? I am drinking a little less than a gallon/day, I would say.I feel like this 24/7 and last time it lasted the entire round. I thought it was normal. I would love to do this round feeling better! As it is, I don't want to get up off the couch. Maybe I will increase the protein. Hmmmm. |

i am a great fan of probiotics all the time and yeah that is one reason i advocated Strongly for everyone to read those long threads from last year and got shouted down(not by you just venting and a lot of the reason i barely even read the main thread anymore sorry for the thread jack) great info and how things worked then for people with more experience on it i was advised to get probiotics before the start of my first round and have never regretted it by all means up your potassium a bit more(i always took 3 -99mg spaced through the day, Gracie takes 2-99mg 2x a day i think i saw someone took up to 8??) if needed and try to take a spoonful of ACV in water
hmm if you are already GOing a lot i don't think i would add any more magnesium NOT PROTOCOL ALERT if it continues drink a G2 gatorade seems like sodium bicarbonate is listed as an electrolyte so maybe a little in glass of water might help?? B12 is one specific vitamin and loads of us are deficient in it i really need the shots but they were too expensive and B complex contains all the B vitamins i think * Vitamin B1 (thiamine) * Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) * Vitamin B3 (niacin or niacinamide, sometimes also known as vitamin PP) * Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) * Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine, pyridoxal, or pyridoxamine, or pyridoxine hydrochloride) * Vitamin B7 (biotin) * Vitamin B8 (inositol)[citation needed] * Vitamin B9 (folic acid) * Vitamin B12 (various cobalamins; commonly cyanocobalamin in vitamin supplements) one sign of B12 deficiency is ridges in your fingernails not a normal sign of aging like they told my Mom ![]() ![]() supplements could have helped her so muchwhat P&I says about blood sugar DH had this happen once on 2 different rounds the spoonful of sugar fixed him right up Quote:

Deb, thank you so much for taking the time to post that! It's so nice to know that people care enough to try and help.
![]() I didn't realize someone gave you a hard time re. reading the old threads. I'm sorry that happened. But listen, pay no attention to those people, just speak your mind, girl. You have lots of valuable info and wisdom to impart. Why do you think I bugged you to death when I first started hcg? You were like 'who is this girl'? ![]() I have read many, many of the monthly threads but didn't register the probiotics thing. I am up to 7 potassium/day. I believe it is Dawn who is taking 8. Funny you should mention the G2 Gatorade... my nephew just suggested that a couple of hours ago. I am seriously thinking of adding it in... protocol be hanged.... I am going to add a b12 tomorrow but I don't see any ridges in my nails. I hate hearing that your mom missed out on something that could have made her feel better. I actually did try the spoonful of sugar the first time I had one of those attacks but it didn't help me. The next time I tried salt and it worked within 20 minutes or so. I carry sugar in my purse and I'm going to start carrying salt. I was going to suggest that your dh carry sugar, but I think I remember you saying he was at goal. ![]() |

I'm sorry you've been having such bad symptoms..no, it's not common. Looks like you've gotten very good suggestions. I hope they work for you!
I can definitely see how the gatorade would help tremendously. |
