You know I wasn't terribly *hungry*, as in the need to eat massive quantities of food, but I knew I needed to stretch my meals out a bit. Even dinner tonight was lengthened: I nibbled on my apple before then after grocery shopping, then while separating my measured fish. I ate the chicken but not the veggiesfor another hour, and my Melba almost an hour after that. It all worked for me, but to keep from getting hungry I can't just eat two meals, I need several small ones. Maybe as the protocol goes on I'll be less nibbly, but even if I stay a nibbler I'm only eating the required amounts just spread out some.

Only 1.2 lbs above my pre-load, and a loss of almost four pounds in one day.

Would it be terrible of me to hope for something similar tomorrow?!

Thanks Kandi you're doing great too!!

I'm a teeny bit hungrier today than I was Day 1 but that could be because by this time yesterday I had already drunk 60oz water; today so far only 20 (but about to become 40). Menu so far has included:

Melba toast, 20 oz green tea w/ 2 Truvia (breakfast)
2 apple slices (snack)
1/2 cucumber marinated in ACV/Cajun spices, Chicken breast, 4 apple slices (lunch)
last 2 apple slices (snack)

I'm seriously in the mood for shrimp scampi, don't ask why; I'll settle for grilled garlic shrimp though, maybe stir-fried (sans oil) with some asparagus and Italian seasonings, and a baked apple for dessert. Sounds great, now to just throw it together with my limited culinary skills.

Okay so I'm a lot bit hungrier today. Just had my Melba toast for the night and I'm really hoping it tides me over. The Dude and I are going shopping for dinner tonight -I'm dead serious about shrimp for dinner but his kitchen skills FAR outweigh mine! The plan is garlic shrimp and asparagus although I have no idea how it'll turn out without oil -probably not as creamy as I normally like it. Still want a baked apple but don't have a dedicated apple-corer just my slicer.

Bah. Hunger. It's completely manageable but it doesn't make me happy.

Hang in there Sassie. Try a cup of hot tea followed by a glass of ice water, that helped me get thru the first couple of days. You're doing great!

I am on load day 2 and feel as though I am going to bust!! A little nervous about tomorrow since I normally go through horrible detox from sugar.
Do your drops tingle under your tongue ? I seem to salivate as soon as I put them under my tongue.

Sassie, how did your shrimp turn out? I was wanting that yesterday so I put the shrimp and garlic in a pan w/ some lemon juice and sliced onions. It was pretty good, but nothing like shrimp scampi. If you come up w/ a good recipe, let me know.

I don't think I will lose much tomorrow. I stepped on the scale tonight and am not down at all. As long as I lose something, I will be happy.

I'm interested to hear how your shrimp turned out too. I just bought precooked frozen cocktail shrimp. I figure it will be an easy instant meal (just need to thaw) when I'm in a pinch. I know it's already cooked so not sure how to measure. I'm thinking about thawing, cutting off the tails, and then weighing it just under the 3.5 ozs.

Potaty- that is what I had.. the precooked kind. I just measured like you did but I defrosted them first. Worked out pretty good. I think next time I will used the shrimp and make a soup w/ the tomatoe.

Ugh, I give up!! Twice I've tried to post here, twice i've timed out!! *grrr*

Weighed this morning fully clothed (running late): 223. Minus 5-7lbs for clothes and I'm at or below 218. Good enough.

Shrimp: roasted some garlic cloves, mushed it with raw strimp, kabobbed it with the asparagus atop the Foreman grill. Ate it all with a Cajun mustard made with YM and Tony Sachere's. Not a fan of asparagus but it was good grilled; would have been nice to sauté it in oil to spread the flavors but Skipped the apple as I was at the Dude's place and he had none.

Today:
Melba toast (breakfast)
chicken breast
spinach in ACV and Cajun spices
apples (snacks and lunch)

Dinner will likely be asparagus and a burger as I miss beef. Hopefully I can have my baked apple tonight too.

*crossing my fingers this post posts*

ETA: Finally!!

Lol thanks! I'm trying to figure out how to core the apple but I just want to try it with a little stevia or Splenda and bake it. I may pop it in the microwave instead - just to get it soft, mushy and dessert-like. I've also seen some apple ideas on the recipe thread I'm dying to try; when I do those I'll definitely report how they turn out!!

Here is a recipe I found:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1 apple
cinnamon
no-calorie sweetner of your choice

Cut apple in half and core. Slice into 1/8th inch slices and arrange on a microwave plate. Sprinkle with cinnamon to your taste. (I like a lot of cinnamon). Sprinkle with no-calorie sweetner to you taste. (I use 2 packets of Splenda). Cover with plastic wrap and microwave approximately 2 and a half minutes. BE CAREFUL!!! THE PLATE WILL BE VERY HOT!

I love this, because it tastes like you are cheating, but you're not!

So I did it: sprinkled Splenda over the apples and microwaved them. Omg. To DIE for! Only left myself one slice for snack instead of my normal 2 but that couldn't be helped: they were too nummy!!

Everyone is raving about the chili and now I want to try some!! I have burger patties already weighed and separated in the freezer - it wouldn't take much to thaw and fry them up. I'll have to check if I use whole or canned tomatoes but I know i don't have chili powder - that's fine, I'll use my Cajun seasoning!! That's usually what I use for my chili anyway (heck, I use it for everything!!).

I'm thinking about getting a flat of strawberries to give myself a little fruit variety; I'm not tired of apples (yet) and don't want to get there. Maybe cooking the apples more? I know I've seen some crumbles over on the recipes thread.

My mom's in town this week/weekend and we may be going camping - this might pose a challenge. We're also going with my grandparents to dinner Friday night: my hope is that any cravings are gone by then and I'll stay strong (and eat nothing).

Lunch actually stuffed me. Just some spinach and chicken but the apples seem to have put me over - or was that the 20oz of water I drank? Either way I'm looking forward to any residual hunger pains go away; yesterday they started around 1pm and grew worse until I ate (logical progression right? lol), then disappeared (thank goodness!).

It's an interesting journey. I'm hesitant to tell my family the particulars of this diet since I'll get guilt-tripped for the 500-only calorie plan (or for the HCG drops as that's a "drug" ). Maybe when it works I'll be a little more confident, and them a bit more receptive.

mmmm...I think I'll try the "baked" apple for my snack tonight! Good job on the scale, Sarah!

I am with you on not telling friends/family. My mom knows because she's a homeopath so I got my spray from her, and obviouly my husband knows. I guess I don't want people to know because they will automatically poo-poo it and then there's also the whole "what if I don't succeed" insecurity.

So my weight this morning: 215.6lbs, for a net loss (from pre-load) of 2.6lbs.

I have no idea how much I loss between yesterday and today but that's a loss of nearly 4lbs in two days and I will SO take that!! I guess the Splenda and chili don't hurt my losses any so back on the menu they go!! (great, because that Truvia is nasty!!!)

So, work meal this morning:

Melba
Apple slices
Hamburger patty
Pickled cucumbers
20oz green tea w/ Splenda (oh how I missed thee, my favorite sweetner)

Melba and an apple slice for breakfast with my multivitamin. I'm thrilled that chili didn't hurt me last night - that was good stuff and a lot more than I thought there would be!! First time making proper chili, hence it being a tad spicy, but for the price (2 Roma tomatoes for $.50 plus the 3.5oz hamburger) it's one heck of a budget meal!! Think I'll make it tonight (minus some spices lol).

I'm hoping to see some body-shrinkage soon; I'm glad I measured myself but I'd like my jeans to fit better. Preferably by tomorrow when I go out with the family.

Once again I'm hungry this morning. I'm beginning to wonder if eating half my lunch protein for breakfast might be better than the Melba or apples; less sugar certainly and more a feeling of fullness. Of course then I'd be really stuck if I was famished later. I'll wait until my losses shrink before I go changing the order of things. For now, I'm pretty content where I am going.

I find when I tell people and have them cheering me on, I get stressed from the pressure of trying to make them proud and fail at my goals. I'd rather succeed and show them the finished product than feel as though I let *them* down. It's a hangup I hope to avoid this time.

My problem is that it tastes just like licorice and I HATE that stuff. I could probably give the packets to my boyfriend as he may do well with it but I don't know what he'd use them with.

Bernice continues to visit regularly - considering I thought the colon cleanse I was doing pre- and peri-Loading was a failure, I must've been doing something right. I'm also drinking 20oz of green tea every morning which may also be making a difference.

Today is the first day I don't have hunger problems. I didn't eat my apple slices at lunch (just the pickled cukes and hamburger), and when I did have them on my next break I hadn't needed them yet. Here's to hoping this feeling sticks around!!

I'm a bit worried about this weekend. My mom's down and we're going to do the family thing which may also include a family reunion, which will definitely mean one thing: Okie food!! Fried okra, fried chicken, beans, REAL cornbread - all around me all weekend.

TORTURE!!

I'm seriously hoping I can keep myself on plan. I'm not so much worried about cheating as I am about me not planning well enough, running out of food (or not bringing it) and being "forced" to partake of the banquet.

I guess I'll burn that bridge whenever I get there. For now, it's just a distant (kinda, tomorrow starts it) worry. *crosses fingers*

Hmm. I was perfectly fine with hunger after lunch, didn't need my apples (but ate them anyway)... and almost immediately I'm hungry again. Not terribly, but I think I need to either eat my apples with a protein or just a little at at time (instead of all at almost-once).

Live and learn I guess. I'm going to OD on some water, hopefully that'll fix things (especially since I just dosed half an hour ago).
