Started TOM this morning so it will be interesting to see how the next few days go. I couldn't eat all my lunch today because I was yucked out by the texture of it. It was ground beef and cabbage and it was too chewy.

I don't like the 4% lean ground beef as much as I like the fattier stuff.

I bought it from the dairy farmer that I get our raw milk from. I am sure it was an old dairy cow, so I'm not sure if the yuckiness was in my head from thinking about that or if it really was yuck.

Today's menu:
Lunch: a few bites of ground beef and cabbage, grissini, 1/2 grapefruit
Snack: grissini
Dinner: lean steak (YUM!), baked onion
Snack: 1/2 grapefruit

Almost no hunger today, even though I hardly ate anything for lunch I didn't drink much today so not sure what the scale will do tomorrow. I did cut way down on my sweetener though, so that's a positive!

I am still feeling strong, no urges to cheat. I think it is really helping me to write down the foods I would like to eat. Depending on what they are, they either go on my P3, P4, or next load list. They will still be there when I am ready to eat them. Psychologically, that really helps me stay the course. Every day I count how many VLC days I have left. Tomorrow marks one week down, two weeks to go!

VLCD7, weight 210.2 so that is -1.2! I am happy but I won't be truly happy until I pass 201.6 which is my post-pregnancy low that I was at just a few months ago. The weight I'm working on now is ridiculous because it never should have been gained in the first place. Oh well, onward and downward!

THanks for stopping by, Wifey! You are doing awesome on your pregnancy weight gain! My sister's weight stayed the same for her whole pregnancy and ended up 30 pounds lighter when all was said and done!

Oh, and just updated my signature. I am 1/3 of the way to my Christmas goal!

Lunch: leftover steak with lettuce, 1/2 grapefruit
Dinner: P2 chili made with steak (very good, made it super spicy this time), grissini
Snack: 1/2 grapefruit, grissini

I was out on the lake all day and got sunburned so will not be surprised at all to see the scale stall for a couple of days while I catch up on my hydration.

Yes, we had a great time! This was our first time to take both kids with us and they did perfectly! Only the second time we've had our boat out this year, so boo on that but maybe over the next few weeks we can get it out a bit more. You hate to pay for it all year and then only use it a few times!

VLCD8, weight 209.4 which is -.8. I am so happy with that because I expected a stall or gain from too much sun and not enough fluids! I have noticed a "weak" feeling lately. I think I might need to take some potassium or somehthing. I am also starting to wonder how in the heck I am supposed to do this for another 2 weeks! Don't get me wrong, I don't have cravings and the hunger has been manageable but it feels like the days are dragging!!!!

Hi Katy! I found your journal

You will have days where you feel like quitting, but believe me it's worth it to stick it out. I always tell myself, it's only 23 days and then onto P3!!! This is the only plan that I can lose 20+ pounds in 23 days and NOT gain it back. I will be here to cheer you on!!!! Baby #3, so exciting! I will live vicariously through you - LOL! My baby days are done! Erin is 15 months old this week Time sure does fly!

Try to make the eating a part of your life, not the center of it, and get out and do more. It's silly to say this since you were at the lake living life this weekend but try to think of the meal plan as your normal way of life, that buying/measuring/eating it alone is just the way things are. Yes I know it's not that easy (especially with a family!) but you're through a week already! Come on, you can do two more, I know it!!

Potaty, instead of regular salt I use Lite Salt.. it has poatssium in it. Maybe you could do that to increase your potassium some.

Gracie~C turned 11 months today! I can't believe how big they are getting, it seems like yesterday we were in the Getting Healthy for Baby thread and then the Expecting thread!

Sarah~Thanks for the encouragement, I just feel like the days are dragging when normally the days and weeks fly by for me!

Kandi~Good idea on the salt, I have been using sea salt.

I survived my first hurdle. There was a family get together (my husband's side) tonight. A ate before I went and then "made myself busy" feeding both kids, changing diapers, etc. I got a lot of questions about if I was going to eat so I just said I was waiting until my husband got there (he was still working). I was able to sneak out of it, more or less. I even took my favorite blackberry cobbler as my contribution to the meal and did not have one bite! I have been 100% on plan since I started, which is huge for me. I know that one taste of anything will be the end for me so I just haven't even gone there.

Today's menu:
Lunch: grissini, cucumber, chicken, 1/2 grapefruit
Dinner: grissini, cucumber, shrimp
Snack: 6 strawberries (small ones)

My next hurdle will be on Friday. My receptionist is turning 70 so we have an office lunch planned. It's her choice on restaurant so I think I will just have to eat beforehand and make excuses like tonight. That will be a toughie.

I asked my husband last night if he could tell I'm losing weight and I wanted honesty. He said he can't tell yet, but then again he's the one who didn't notice when my hair went from blonde to brown either. I feel smaller, I am tempted to measure but I was saving that for the inevitable stall or gain on the scale.

I say measure.. it isn't like you are going to stop losing inches if you do. You can always remeasure when you stall. Then you will know that you are losing the inches even though no weight is leaving. If you wait to measure, you might wonder if those were inches lost before you stopped losing.

Measure, measure, measure!!!! I wish I would have but I never did. I think I have some old measurements from a couple years ago that I could compare my measurements now to. But I have gone from a size 18w to a size 12. Can't complain about that!

Great job on the -.8#

VLCD10, weight 206.6 so -2!!!!!!!!!! Woo Hoo! I won't be really, really excited until onederland but I'm certain I will get there this round now. I guess skipping the veggie and fruit last night paid off. I really wasn't even hungry for it and that's why I skipped it instead of eating it at 11:30 when I was home from the store. Feeling fatigued and weak again this morning so I just took a potassium tablet, I hope it helps. It's supposed to be 107 here today with heat index of 117 so me thinks I am staying in all day.

Woohoo congrats on the incredible release!!!! Don't you love days like that?! I'm waiting for another big day like that myself, you must be stoked!! Keep up the great work, I've been avoiding family get-togethers because moderation can be hard for me (and my families - you should see the portion sizes! 1.5" thick steaks!!).

Sarah~I purposely scheduled my round when I had nothing on the calendar. This week's family dinner and Friday's office lunch were surprises to me. One down, one to go. I have a wedding at the end of the month and my daughter's first bday party so I am really looking forward to being in P3 for both of those.

I am sooo tired today, I need to figure something out because all I want to do is sleep and that is not an option with 2 kids.

Today is the hardest day I've had since VLCD1. I am thinking skipping my veggie and fruit last night was a very bad idea! I just need to get through today and tomorrow will be better! I am not hungry, just feeling tired and I have cravings for the first time really since starting. Maybe I need an extra dose today.

Well it's too late for last night's veggies and fruit so definitely get those today and perhaps a couple extra drops for your remaining doses?

I'm curious, do you notice a difference if you shake the bottle (stir the contents) before you dose? I've found I don't get any sensation from the HCG if I drip it straight, but if I shook the bottle a bit before dosing my tongue gets a little burny like others have noticed with their drops.

Katy ~ While in P2 I take 2 potassium pills with each meal. It's about 400 mg which is the equivalent of a banana. Also, I take B-12 for energy and a multi-vitamin. I think this will help you! Great job on the 2 pound loss!!!!

Sarah~My mom is a homeopath and homeopathic remedies should always be activated by hitting the bottom of the bottle on the palm of your hand 5-10 times before taking it. I have seen a ton of misinformation on homeopathics in relation to all of this hcg stuff. They also should never be stored in the fridge or placed near anything that puts off waves (microwaves, cellphones, computers).

Gracie~Thanks for the vitamin info. The whole day I felt like crap so tomorrow I am going to take the potassium 3x/day like you do.

Kandi~Thanks for your support!

Kimberli~Thanks for stopping by! Did you ever get any energy back?

Today's menu:
Lunch: chicken, asparagus, melba toast
Snack: strawberries
Dinner: chicken, 1/4 onion, melba toast
Snack: strawberries

I hardly drank anything today, I was so out of sorts. I am going to bed early tonight and will hope for a much better day tomorrow. Honestly, today I felt like quitting several times and that is a first for me.....and I still have 13 days to go
