Okay, so I didn't get back on the hcg yet. I talked myself into maintaining until TDay and loading on Thurs/Fri next week. I can't even believe how horrible R2 was, if I can even call it a round??? Nevertheless, I am going to call the next Round3 just to get rid of the bad joojoo of Round 2, LOL!

I am thinking of trying the hhcg and protocol starting on Thanksgiving, too... but, I'm really nervous about trying such a strict diet during the holiday season when there will be lots of get-togethers and parties.

I ordered the hhcg today, so I guess I'm taking the plunge on Thanksgiving! I kind of think I'm nuts for trying to make it through December on such a strict plan... but I have to get some of this weight off! I guess if I can get through it, I can do anything, really. I need to look further into the eating plan and organize myself. Also, how do you know how many drops to take? I think the original Pounds and Inches plan is based on the hcg shots, right?

It will depend on the brand you bought, it should come with some dosage instructions. My bottle is a spray and it says to do 2 sprays once per day, but I do it twice per day because if I don't, I get hungry. I would start with the minimum and up your dose if you get hungry. I am excited for you!

I read some information online about another hcg eating plan from the Omaha Med Spa... it allows 600-700 calories instead of the 500... and there is a slightly larger variety of foods to choose from. I might try that one for my first go round to help me ease into things and see how my losses are.

Andrea~Let me know how it works! My mom did an extended round 1 with a 13 day interruption and when she got back on P2 she ocassionally ate things not on protocol (green beans, okra, broccoli, etc.) and her losses were just as good. She is down 30 lbs in her first round (keep in mind she did the longer round though).

Today is Load day 1 for me. I had to get stuff in the oven for today so I completely forgot to weigh but yesterday I was 197. My low for R1 was 199, so I am happy that I have maintained effortlessly.

Hey Katy, I hope you don't mind me jumping in on your journal.

I got my hhcg in the mail today, but I am really nervous about starting! I'm not really a fan of medications, and I don't take herbal or homeopathic anything, so I guess I'm nervous about taking the hhcg. Are there side effects or anything I should be on the lookout for when taking it?

I am going to try the Omaha Med Spa version of the diet, which allows a little more variety and slightly higher calories. I am planning tomorrow's menu to look like this:

B: 2 c. honeydew melon, herbal tea
L: 3.5 oz. chicken breast, 1 c. sliced cucumbers, 1 c. sliced tomatoes
S: 1 apple
D: 3.5 oz. lean ground beef, 1 c. steamed broccoli, 2 c. spring greens & 1c. sliced cucumbers with balsamic vinegar
S: 100 calorie popcorn

Total Calories: 748

Hi Andrea! Best of luck to you!!!!

In my experience I had no side effects at all from the hhcg. The only side effect was weight loss

But, the first few days of low calories I did experience detox symptoms - headaches, tiredness, etc. I take a multi-vitamin, potassium, biotin, and B-12 while on protocol.

Andrea~Of course you can join my journal! First of all, you need to take the hhcg for two days while loading. In other words, for tomorrow and Wednesday you should eat very high fat diet while taking the hhcg. You can eat whatever your little heart desires but your focus should be on fat. This is what will (hopefully) keep you from being super hungry your first few days on the low calorie days. Then on Thursday you will start your low calorie menu. I will have to look into that specific menu plan! I have had no side effects from hhcg, more often than not I am loaded with energy and not hungry at all! I did have to take potassium a few times for a weak feeling in round one but that's it.

So, today went okay. I was pretty starving throughout the last part of the day. I only had one veggie today but I had 3 fruits. I know I wasn't supposed to but I was so hungry for some reason! I am hoping tomorrow is better. I was peeing all day today so I am expecting a large loss tomorrow. I gained 3-4 pounds from loading so it would be great if all of that came off in one day!

Today's menu:
Breakfast and throughout day: coffee with cream (my one tweak)
Lunch: tilapia, melba
Dinner: chicken chili, melba
Snack: orange
Snack: 1/2 grapefruit, orange.

My oranges were literally the size of plums so maybe having 2 wasn't really horrible? I know, I am trying to justify

Good grief, I am sooo hungry! This is how hungry I was on day 1 of round 1. I need to go back and read my journal from then for motivation. Maybe that means this round will be a success? LOL

Tomorrow I need to go stock up on stuff, my fridge is pretty bare bones right now. I should really just go to bed to put me out of my misery!

Hi lovely ladies!

Katy- so glad you're back! Now I can start chatting here again .

Hope you all had a good holiday.

I want to restart with y'all. Was 184.4 today. And that's after a holiday in Chicago with eating off plan the whole week. Last night was mexican . It was as though I loaded without actually loading and without taking hcg!

I'm not doing the hhcg, I'm just going to LC + apples. But I want to post with you guys.

I ended up eating 2 whole dill pickles before bed as my remaining veggie. It really was insane how hungry I was yesterday! I hope today is better!!!

Sam~Glad you're back, I missed you!

I would be surprised if the dills have any effect. They're mostly vinegar and cukes right? Not the sugary kind?

Dessa~Yes, just the regular dill pickles. I used them a couple times last round without a problem.

Today was another hungry day. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to quit and try again in January. But I kept imagining myself skinny and pregnant instead of fat and pregnant so I stayed on track. Ugh.

Today's menu:
Snack: Americano with cream
Lunch: Boar's Head oven roasted chicken breast deli meat, melba
Snack: 1/2 grapefruit with Truvia
Dinner: round steak and onion, melba
Snack: orange and probably a pickle later

FWIW, I had pickles on my rounds with no problems. I would make a burger patty with onion, pickle, and mustard. Or sometimes tomatoes too.

You know, sometimes I think the artificial sweeteners make me hungry? Maybe the sweetness causes cravings or something. Just trying to figure out why...

I also sometimes want to throw the towel in and eat some macaroni and cheese but then realize how much happier I will be if I don't!!!

VLCD3, 195.4, down another 3! The hhcg is finally kicking in! Thank God, that was a rough 2 days! Now that I'm feeling better, I am looking forward to the scale dropping! I can't wait to be back to 186, which is what I was before Grandpa died. Wow, can't believe that was a month ago now

Great losses, Katy!

This is my third day on the hhcg... I ended up not doing load days because I figured I had "loaded" enough from Wednesday to Sunday of last week and I honestly didn't feel like eating crap anymore.

The last time I weighed before this morning was on Friday morning after Thanksgiving, and I was 328... this morning I was 319.8! I know a lot of that had to be water weight from eating too many carbs, but it is still exciting to see losses!
