LOL, I am obsessed with all things OB/Gyn so it's funny to me that you think it's gross! I am so proud of you! How are things otherwise? Sounds like you love CA, I have never been there! Any other news?

I am loving the hhcg, as you can see in my signature, I lost 20 my first round. Do you plan on doing it again?

I do love California. It's a nice change from Chicago in terms of weather and outdoorsy things to do. Never have to worry about walking to work in the snow/rain/sleet.

Well, I'm planning on doing it again starting right now . I loaded the last 3 days, though yesterday I felt like I couldn't even load properly. I didn't even gain weight from loading... maybe because I wasn't in ketosis to begin with? I have my apples and meat all ready and I know I need to stick with this and work hard.

My biggest problem/concern is the last time I did this I think I was so ketotic and calorie-deprived that I couldn't sleep at all. I tossed and turned all night for 2 weeks, getting max 3-4 hours of sleep per night. I really can't afford to not sleep right now, with work and everything, so I'm wondering how I can fix this. Apple before bed? Slightly higher fat intake?

Have you had this problem at all?

20 pounds is great! You go girl! I demand pictures.

Have you tried taking Natural Calm? It's a magnesium supplement and can really aid in sleep issues. Tossing and turning is common with pregnancy and when I am on the hhcg I will wake up and not be able to go back to sleep for an hour or two. It doesn't happen every night, but it does happen. Are you gonna start a journal so I can stalk you???

Thanks for the idea! I'll have to buy that. I wonder if there is magnesium in sleep MD. I'd be willing to try anything. I'm not quite sure why ketosis disrupts my sleep so poorly, perhaps higher metabolic rate? It feels like my body cannot stop moving, it's filled with energy.

Should I start a new journal? Or write in the old, self-deprecating, emotional, ridiculous one from way back??

So, yes I have been avoiding my journal. Here is why (quoted from Getting Healthy for Baby thread).....

Unfortunately, I started miscarrying tonight (well, I assume since there are cramps and red blood with clots).

dh is out of town until Friday and of course both kids were in bed when I started bleeding and I didn't have any pads so I have a diaper in my underwear. At least the last part of this post is funny, right?

I am going to tell family tomorrow.

Thanks, Gracie. I am feeling at peace with things. I just got back from the doctor, I talked him out of a sonogram (no need to spend $300+ on a test to confirm what I already know) so we just did bloodwork and will have another blood draw on Friday to confirm the levels are going down.

In the meantime, I am taking advantage of whatever remnants of actual hcg are still in my body and am continuing with my eating. While I was pregnant, I was eating double portions of everything and adding in some fats too (so, basically low carb maintenance levels).

Thanks, Samantha. And also thank you for being my super secret confidant in all of this

Today, of course, was kind of emotional for me but overall it went better than one would expect. I didn't feel like eating much but I made sure to focus on protein.

Breakfast: Americano w/ hwc
Late lunch: 3.5 oz hamburger patty
Snack: Americano w/ hwc
Late dinner: 4 scrambled eggs with just a pinch of Monterrey Jack cheese, green chilis

There was a grissini eaten somewhere in there but can't recall when

I was on the scale earlier (fully clothed) and it was in the 196s so I expect another big loss tomorrow.

Thanks, Kandi

195.4 this morning, I guess I could temporarily consider myself part of the "rogue" group since I'm not eating from the list, although I am trying. Until I get the 100% confirmed miscarriage news next week I am going to keep eating fats and extra calories. Regardless, it seems to be working for me just fine!

Katy ~ are you still spotting or did it stop? I don't know if you remember but with Erin I had major bleeding - bright red with clots and everything was still okay. I actually went in an ambulance to the ER because I was with Gracie and was afraid to drive. They sonogram showed the little sac was still there. I will be praying that everything is okay no matter what happens.

Gracie~I vaguely remember that happening now that you mention it! What a miracle little Erin is! The bleeding has lessened and I don't have cramps anymore, but it's still bright red with little clots. I have been bleeding since Tuesday night. I have fleeting moments of thinking that maybe it's still viable, but I really don't think it is. How many days did you bleed? I go tomorrow for my second blood draw so I won't hear anything until Monday at the soonest.

ETA: I have never had a miscarriage so I don't know what is "normal". I go through 2-3 pads a day but they aren't soaked through, more like a light period. When I go to the bathroom, the water is pink with lots of little clots in the bottom of the bowl. And, TMI alert, I have to wipe a lot to get clean. Again, not sure what "normal" is during a mc......

I only bled for 1-2 days. I'm not sure either what a mc is like. If it's meant to happen it will! And if not now then someday when it's right. I don't think I had cramps though - just bleeding. When they did the sonogram there was only a black hole with nothing in it except this tiny dot that they called some kind of "pole"?? I also had the blood draws and thankfully my hcg was increasing every other day. My friend bled throughout her entire pregnancy so I guess there's really no "normal". Please keep us up to date on what's going on and I will be praying for you.

I heard back from the doctor, my hcg level was less than 2 so that means I had a complete miscarriage, in other words, no more blood tests and no need to do a D&C, which I am so thankful for.

195.0 so up a bit. I'm not surprised, I didn't drink much water yesterday. No appetite today, I've only had an americano and melba toast. Plus, I have no groceries so I can't eat anything we have anyways. I am just not up for dragging 2 kids to the store today (husband still out of town).

Round 2 sucks!! I am having the worst time staying on track!! I was 197 today. I think I am taking a brief break to do P3 until after my anniversary next Monday. Ugh.

Katy!

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond. Glad to hear you didn't need a D&C. Hope you're doing well.

I do the same thing sometimes... when I'm just kinda off with a round and I'm not eating totally on plan and feel like I should stop wasting my drops, so I take a break. I know it's not "by the book" at all, but sometimes I need to stop (like right now). What have you been eating?

My HCG plan was going alright for a few days but I wasn't sleeping at ALL and it was killing me. So I started increasing both fat and carbs in hopes of sleeping better, and eventually it seemed like I was way over calories and felt dumb continuing to waste my precious hHCG drops. So I stopped, but have kept fairly on plan with small meals of mostly protein, a little fat, and apples. I lost about 5 pounds doing the plan strictly for a few days, and since stopping the drops a few days ago I lost another 1-2. I feel smaller and firmer and I'm not sure if I'm going to jump back into drops or not.

I'm 185 today. I can't remember for sure but I think 183 was my lowest over the last few years. Maybe it was 179? If I see the 170s soon I will be ELATED.

I don't think I have time or energy to journal right now. Can I just keep threadjacking your journal, like I just did? I kid, I kid.

Hope you're doing well!

Kandi~Glad we can commiserate!

Samantha~You can jack my thread anytime Are you doing Rx or homeopathic? I am having a really hard time this round. Even before all of the miscarriage crap so that's no excuse. Now I am trying to decide what to do. My anniversary is the 25th, we will be celebrating on the 24th. Then family bday party on the weekend of the 5th. I think I just need to suck it up and do what I can. I really want to be in the 180s before I stabilize for the holidays.

My large grocery store was completely out of Melba! I wonder if a ton of people in my area are doing the protocol, I bet the Melba makers are happy, lol!
