Here is my entry from the daily weigh in challenge! I've been doing this woe for 9 days! BOY is time flying by! I love interment fasting! I am having fluctuation in my weight, but I've also not stay 100% on one of my down days. That's ok though! I'm human and I'm moving on. I haven't been happier with a diet.

The down day I had so much trouble with was when I made everything I did/watched was about food. I triggered myself beyond all belief.

So on DDs (for now) I'm staying with diet related things only... No cooking shows(unless it's hungry girl), and no youtube food tutorials.

I can't watch cooking shows unless it is LC (and they are rare!). It makes me yearn for those foods

Is it you, Rebecca, is it you?

I've been re-reading 'Why We Get Fat' and came across the following passage which seems to exactly describe what happened to you when you watched the cooking shows:
"Even before we begin eating, insulin works to increase our feeling of hunger. Remember, we are secreting insulin just by thinking about eating (and particularly eating carbohydrate-rich foods and sweets), and this insulin secretion then increases within seconds of taking our first bite....So our experience of hunger actually increases just by thinking about eating..."

I think this explains why I find it easier to simply eat the same foods every single day. If I just eat the same each day it reduces the amount of time necessary to think about food and food prep and eating. Eating just becomes a habit like brushing your teeth that you don't have to think about much at all. I believe that is why I don't experiment with or even read the recipes posted on this site and other sites. Instinctively I've understood it will be easier for me if I just keep it simple.

On the other hand, being prepared by having low carb food on hand is necessary and takes a certain amount of thinking and planning ahead so I suppose a very fine balance between thinking about food and not thinking about it needs to be achieved.

Right now I'm having a little trouble figuring out when I actually am hungry and when I just think I 'should' eat a meal. Although I'm trying to understand the signals my body is sending I don't think I am yet at the point where I can truly tell the difference between the messages my stomach is sending and the messages my brain is transmitting.

You are *definitely* not crazy!!!! I seems it is just a physiological thing. I'm deep into trying to keep my mind away from the F*** word and thoughts about F***...LOL...not the usual F*** word but the F*** word most dangerous to us Low Carbers who are concerned about weight.

Well... Since Thursday (when my kid became very sick with a virus and a fever that refused to break until TODAY) all my days have been UD or MD... My nerves are shot. Sunday is a standard UD no matter what it actually is, because it's my family's day to eat together. Tomorrow is my actual UD and I've gotten into the routine with the other UD girls... I don't want to switch it. =) So Tuesday is my next DD, but tomorrow I'm not going to eat like a buffalo! =D

So sorry to learn that your child has been suffering from the the nasty whatever that's been going around...I've two friends in NC who've been very sick from whatever it is (a virus?). Don't over stress about eating off plan. The same thing happened to me last night when I ate a lot of delicious shrimp, foolishly assuming they were LC and only finding out today that shrimp are pretty high in carbs. Mistakes happen and I've learned a valuable lesson. Today is a new day and I'm back on track. Hope your nerves calm down, sweet Rebecca, and that your day will be filled with peace and happiness.

Hi everyone! I'm still here! I've been super busy at home with my kidlet being sick... Which threw me into and ugly eating fit.. I then continued on like I was supposed to! I've been playing around with DD trying to figure out what works for me!

So far I've noticed that PB&J sandwiches hold me for a LOONG time. I worked with what I had at home (reg crunchy pb, merita white bread king thin, and some dollar tree strawberry jam). Don't get my wrong they were just fine, but I could find a lower cal better quality product (when I had the money finally)..I've brought my cal count for the sandwich from 284 to 228!

I've been super obsessed with low calorie lunch "how to's".. Yes.. Yes, I know food shows all the time! At least these don't trigger me, well they do, but its just to spend money! =P I've subscribed to a few (and felt a little silly), because they were girly, preppy, teenagers! But... But.... They had a bunch of great ideas! Lettuce wraps, quinoa sushi, lots of 200 cal lunch items. So helpful!

Though I've been getting agitated with myself lately... I'm still really happy with JUDDD!! It might take me longer to get to this finish line, I'm still in the race!

DD for me today! Going well! I forgot to weigh myself today(before I ate/drank)... So mad at myself! I made a PB&J at 8:30 this morning and I'm still going strong! I did have a trenta iced coffee from Starbucks, but all that did was make my tummy queasy! WTPoop! =D I wish I had a tough tummy! I just don't... My giant coffee what 103 cals, because I wanted the toffee nut syrup, darn it! hehehe If they had it in SF I would've preferred, but they didn't! I won't make this drink a habit... Especially on a DD.

Rebecca, where are you girl? I've missed you! I hope that the fact you've not been posting just means you've been happily busy with holiday prep and enjoying life with friends and family. I hope you're o.k., feeling well and doing well. If you've slipped off the wagon just go ahead and climb back on. We all share the struggle. Come back to us Rebecca. Miss you.
