So, staying on program over the holiday week-end is a very big deal for me. I went garage "sale-ing" on Friday and Saturday, so I was away from the house at lunch time. On Friday my friend and I were going to go to the restaurant for lunch, but found out it didn't open until 4 pm. So, here it was 1 pm, we were hungry, and the only other choices were the coffee shop of the little deli at the store. I knew that there would be nothing for me at either of those places, so I invited her back to my house to see what we could find in the 'fridge. She had a sandwich and I had roast beef, cheese and a pickle.

On Saturday, we were out "sale-ing" again, and ended up where food was being served at two different places. Again, nothing I could have. So I just went without until after I took her home (she said she felt bad about me always having to fix the meals) and came home to another meal of meat and cheese.

Today we went out with our hubbies after church, and I watched everyone around me having stuff I couldn't have. But I ordered a salad and a chicken breast with cheese, and did just fine. Tonight we went to a concert, and there were cookies being served afterward. I took my own low carb cookie and some nuts and managed to stay away from all the goodies there. So yes... I am feeling pretty happy with myself right now. I just need to stick with it!

Woke up WAY too early (before 5 am) and dh woke up as well. He got up, but I tried to get back to sleep. That didn't work, so I'm going to stay up and bit and MAYBE go back to bed later this morning.

Had some macadamia nuts this morning and an Atkins bar. Might have eggs and bacon later on.

I've been craving hot dogs since Farm Day (when I got to smell them but didn't have any!) so I might have them for lunch or dinner. Not sure.

I need to work on getting dh's computer back to Wi-Fi.... yuck! I do NOT like messing with technical stuff! Back later...

My breakfast was lc toast with a sausage patty, cheese and an egg.

Our financial advisor came up from Oregon today to meet with us and another couple that are clients of his. We met with him first, then had a yummy lunch of clam chowder, coleslaw, rolls (for them) and lc gluten-free bread (for me.) They had home made blueberry pie for dessert. I had a no-carb cookie.

No idea what's for dinner. All out of ideas and maybe out of groceries too. We haven't been to the mainland for shopping for awhile.

Had a crummy day yesterday, and a rough morning today. Received an e-mail with a special message that felt like God sent it just for me. Isn't that how He works sometimes?

Breakfast was a fruity protein drink. So-So.
Mid-morning snack was 1 and 1/2 ounces of roast beef, 1 slice of cheese and 1/3 of an avocado.
Did I eat lunch? Oh yeah-- couple of bites of chicken and some coleslaw.
Dinner was about three ounces of chicken and some LC coleslaw.
Snack was a SF Almond Roca and a handful of Macadamia nuts.

Still somewhat depressed, but more hopeful than yesterday or this morning. God is good.

Just remember.. life is about Choices.. its your choice to be depressed.. or your choice to except the things that happen.. if we can fix them.. fix them.. if we cannot.. move on

So...... life has been rough. Maybe it'll get a bit easier now???

So... my "maybe exciting" news: I may be getting the opportunity to do some voice talent in some commercial spots! I used to write for a radio station and got to do voice talent years ago. Quit when there was a conflict with my walk with God and some of the stuff going on at the station. (It was a soft rock station when I first began working there, but later became a hard rock station. Use your imagination.) Anywho, someone I've known for about 6 years just learned that that's what I used to do and has asked if I'd be willing to help her out once in awhile. So I might get to do that! Fun! I used to love doing it, and think I'd love doing it again.

Gracie is doing a little better. She's regained some of her strength and is now drinking water on her own. (She was getting really mad at me for pushing the baby kitty bottle in her mouth and forcing water!) She's not eating enough, but she IS eating some. I can't tell if the swelling is really subsiding or not. At least some of it is still there and I want it GONE.

We're sailing to Steilacoom today for the Farmer's Market and concert in the park. Arranging for our kitty sitter to stay so the kitties won't be alone and neither will our house. (Sorry island burglars. Maybe another time...) Just checked out the menu at the bistro and it looks like they have yummy stuff that I can have.

New news: After my step-mom's funeral, a SIL asked me if I go to the family reunions. (That would be for my birth-family.) I said I'd never been and she said I should go. Long story short, I found some of the relatives I didn't know I had, we've been communicating, we're going to the reunion, and they've been sending lots of family info--- all the way back to France in the 1500's! For an orphan like me, this is exciting news! Scary part is that I've seen photos, and I'm the only fat one...

I've been in contact with several of them for a number of years. Now it's nice to see them a little more often- and hopefully not just because somebody died!

Accidentally met up with my BFF this week-end, who now lives 300 miles from me! So strange! I was shopping for a new blouse, and heard a familiar voice. I turned around and there she was! I was 150 miles from home, and so was she. Seems we never have time to get together any more, but here she was, and it was so nice seeing her for even a few minutes.

I really blew it, food-wise, this week-end. I plan to get back on track now and hope I can stick with it. I used to be able to stay on 100%. What has happened to me???

Guess I'm going to have to send you each a PM. "Something" has scared me back on track!

I did well today. Things didn't go at all as planned, but I did okay with my food anyway.
Here's what I've eaten so far today:

8 am- 1 piece SF coconut candy
11 am- 1/4 cup macadamia nuts (2 net carbs)
1:30 pm- 1 natural turkey hotdog (2 carbs)
Low carb chili (4 carbs)
2 slices cheese (1 carb)
5pm- 1/4 cup macadamia nuts (2 net carbs)
2 little sweet pickles (no sugar, 0 carbs)
1 slice 0 net carbs toast with butter
1 slice cheese, less than 1 carb

I think dinner (really late!) will be a crab salad, or at least crab on top of lettuce.

Yeah, I know--- I'm still eating nuts! But I hadn't had any for a few days, and I AM measuring them AND macadamias are really low carb. I planned to have a healthy breakfast when I got up, but the phone kept ringing and I kept getting distracted. I wanted to exercise and got interrupted by the phone, but got back to it and finished it anyway. Yay me! Anyway, the last phone call was from a friend who thinks she broke her ankle and wanted to borrow crutches. Dh thinks we gave mine to dd, so I went to the fire station and picked up some "loaners" for my friend. So that's why my menu looks so goofy. At least I didn't run to the store and buy any junk food when I was hungry and tempted!

Okay... leaving to send PMs to youse guys!
