Thank you. It was!!!

Lunch with friends and didn't tell them it was my birthday. Made it through the day unscathed. LOL Just my present to me to share the day with them.

Heard from 3 of our 4 kids. #3 is now working night shift so probably slept right through the day. Heard from nieces who have never wished me a happy b-day before. Thanks to Facebook I heard from other relatives and friends, too. Had 7 phone messages when we got home. WOW!

Tonight is our Fire Fighter's Appreciation Banquet. Prime rib, yummm!

My Netrition order got here today. If those chili entree's are half as good as they look, I'm ordering lots more! Tasted the Maple granola and it's pretty good. The lemon curd looks awesome, and I'm going to try the raspberry ChocoPerfection bar in a few minutes. (Already love the dark chocolate ones, but hadn't tried the raspberry yet.) Bought the Jok n' Al barbecue sauce because the Smokin' Joe Jones brand isn't available.

Oh, the dark chocolate raspberry ChocoPerfection bars are heavenly! Oh yummmm! And the chili IS as good as it looks, so I ordered ten more. So nice to have a quick entree' available when time is tight. And this morning I had the maple granola for breakfast. I do love my bacon with scrambled eggs, but this was a nice change.

I've come down with a cold, so I'm trying to get lots of rest. Dh is being supportive, so I don't have to feel guilty about being "lazy." I still have lots to do, but I'm doing it slower. LOL

Please pray for our Thai-kitty. He may have some sort of urinary tract obstruction. Hoping to get him to the vet on Monday, if there are any appts. available.

I'm doing better.... thank you both for asking! Still a few sniffles and I'm tired, but thr sore throat is gone and that was the worst.

Thai is doing better- had a bladder block and it was probably caused by us changing his diet. We found an incredibly good deal on really, REALLY expensive kitty food, and added it to his diet. The vet said that was most likely the cause. Thai got a cortisone shot and antibiotics. He's no longer crying while in the litter box.

Dh is still in the midst of a lot of appointments to discover the cause of his knee pain. We go to the mainland again tomorrow for an MRI.

I haven't weighed for awhile. Pretty sure I wouldn't like what I see! Gonna try really hard today.

I'm glad you're doing better, Raini. I hadn't heard from you in so long that I thought maybe something happened.

Strange how a bladdar blockage could be caused by a dietary change . . .

DH is having knee problems as well as back problems? Poor guy!

I'm back... doin' the Waddle of Shame...

I think I gave up the minute the kids walked into the house. Started with lasagna and garlic Texas Toast before the Christmas eve service. I was exhausted from cleaning, decorating and meal planning, so when it came time to fix dinner just before our candle light service at church, I decided that fixing dinner for everyone else and then having to fix something for me just wasn't going to cut it. Eating that junk set the carb monster free, and I just kept on eating for almost a week. (sigh)

We gave our dd and d-dil Cricut Cake machines for Christmas, so they wanted to do some baking and decorating. They made the yummiest..... nope- never mind! I'm not going to tempt me or anyone reading this with descriptions of all the stuff they made and that I ate!

When all our guests were leaving, we loaded them up with all the carby stuff around here. All that's left (I hope) is dh's candy he got for Christmas and some Thai food leftovers that he has claimed for his dinner. That leaves turkey and veggies for me, thank heaven!

Speaking of Thai food, our d-dil made a scrumptious meal that I think I can tweak to be low carb. Especially a ground turkey dish that has cilantro, lime juice, fish sauce, green onions and a little bit of sugar. The sugar is the only no-no, and I know how to take care of that! And curry dishes would work, too. D-sil is not from Thailand, but the meal she made was better than ANY Thai meal I've eaten in authentic Thai restaurants.

I'm not getting on the scale for awhile... at least not before Monday and probably not for a full week or maybe even longer. I'm going to promise myself that I don't have to until then as long as I stay on plan. HOWEVER, if I start messing up, I WILL weigh myself for shock therapy!

2012 is going to be the year that I get close to my goal!!!

Thank you for caring! I didn't mean to worry you. Our house was so busy and full of people this past week (and I was getting ready for all the company the weeks before) that I just had time to peek in. I didn't see anyone posting, so I figured y'all were busy, too.

I'm BACK. Not waiting for the new year to get back on track. Today was THE day!

B- 2 bites of a stale Atkins bar and a cup of tea w/ Stevia
L- prime rib soup, plus ate the meat off the leftover ribs (added a Tbl of cream to the soup)
D- 3 scrambled eggs w/bacon, SF catsup
snack- one no-carb cookie, tea
6 or 7 nuts (Ah nuts! Wasn't going to have those!)
one SF candy from Russell Stover

My hero! Yeah, it probably wasn't pretty, but you needed to know where you are. You're ahead of me with that! I just can't do it yet... as long as I'm staying on plan now (like I said above) I'm not stepping on those scales for awhile. I'm afraid I'd be too disheartened to start again.

We're gonna get back (and stay!) on track!!!

Today's breakfast was 2 scrambled eggs with bacon. (We call them "Bakey-eggs" which is what my mom called them when I was little. The bacon is cut into small pieces and fried, and then the scrambled eggs are poured over the top. Yum!) Also had decaf tea with cream and stevia.

Lunch will be leftover prime rib soup. Dinner will be turkey and something.

I did one exercise session on the rebounder. Also been doing heavy-duty cleaning that is affording me some exercise. I think I'll do a session with my video next, and maybe some Kinect this evening.

I still have some stressful stuff going on that makes me feel anxious and then I tend to eat. Dh is doing better, but Thai-kitty has that darned bladder blockage going on again. I ordered some natural remedy stuff from an online store, but the product is back ordered and they have no idea when it will come in. We'll have to keep a close eye on him. I hate when the weekends come and our vet isn't available. Not only are the weekend vets horribly expensive, but I don't like them and I don't trust them with my cats.

Dave made the prime rib soup with our leftover prime rib from Christmas dinner. He used the leftover au jus and some vegetable broth for the base and diced up the prime rib. Also used jicama instead of potatoes, dried zucchini (from our garden), celery, onion, green beans, garlic salt and pepper. He said he might have used some dried green peppers, but doesn't remember for sure. He is now the official Soup Maker for this house, but never does the same thing twice!

Stayed on plan again. Didn't actually plan things out, but ate low carb and exercised. Should have written down what I ate, but now I'll try to remember:
B- Atkins bar, scrambled eggs w/bacon and cheese
L- (Really late) low carb chili, two Hebrew Nat'l hot dogs and cheese
S- low carb cookie and one piece of ChocoPerfection raspberry bar
D- 3 slices beef stick, 1 slice Havarti cheese with fondue
S- nuts (Nuts!)

No partying for these folks tonight! Boy, do I feel old. Anyway, dh has to set up the sound system at church early tomorrow, and we just didn't feel like going out and eating a bunch of junk. So we're home. Dh is already in bed. I'm planning to stay awake until midnight, but only to calm the kitties down when the fireworks start.

Wow- I guess it's already another year for most of youse guys!
