I'm sorry you got stressed about other people's comments...I am really lucky that most people I know don't comment (or at least nothing gets back to me!). Don't let it get to you!

I didn't do well last night....I was having a lot of discomfort in my legs/feet so I told DH to just go pick up pizza....I just didn't care last night.

I start my PT for my foot tomorrow. I'm going to ask what I can do about all the pain in my legs, etc. I will also be calling the dr. today regarding the meds that I think are part of the problem and see if they can be changed....again....I'm tired of this but it seems that every med that has side effects of muscle pain and weakness affects me that way...there has to be something without those side effects....

I love you both...just sometimes I don't know what to post. matt is doing p9ox, so I do as much of that as i can on the days he is not at the gym. I restarted taking my vitamins and I am trying to follow my band rules. I think my entire family is dealing with various aspects of depression and I don't want to dump that on you guys

Just general day to day stuff is fine Beth.
We just love "seeing" you and knowing that you're still there.
Miss You!!!
And really do understand.

Thanks Linda. I know I need to let it go but when it's a constant reminder that you're not good enough simply because you're heavy it can wear you down after a while.

I do know just how that feels....I've felt that way for 30 years....I need to take my own advice and not let it get to me!

Class tonight was killer....3 different kb exercises for 1 minute and 15 seconds each (that's a long time!) and then 9 strap exercises...class went longer than usual but we finished it all....we have to take turns with the strap so when not on the strap we do taps on the bosu ball (alternating feet, tapping the top of the ball) for the whole time the other one is doing the strap....I'm a noodle right now! I love this class! The other lady in the class has to have knee surgery in a month so we'll probably take time off while she heals and then get back to it when she's ready....I'll have to be sure to stick with kb work at home!

Back from my first PT for my Achilles tendon....told him about all my other issues that I think are all due to the limping from the stress fracture....he said we'll get everything fixed! I love this PT place!

Going out to lunch and I already know it won't be all on plan. It's a salad lunch at the Italian American Club and my MIL gets the tickets for us...I will do my best, though...

Have to go to Mom's this afternoon and groceries on the way home...

Dawn, saw your post on FB....sending you some good thoughts

Thanks Sweetie!!

I didn't even realize I hadn't posted here today. Just trying to get through as best I can. That often means trying to hold my Mom together too(long distance). My Dad tends to bury his head in the sand and not realize that she needs him.

Doing okay otherwise.....

Today would be an Up Day. So, I'm trying to get enough cals in but finding it hard since I'm not hungry.

so far:
coffee/coconut milk
banana
two homemade spring rolls(paleo'ish) dipped in Paleo Sunshine Sauce

planned:
I have no clue other than burgers on the grill
that we were supposed to have last night.

Workouts:
yoga 3x's... I have a morning/afternoon/evening routine at 20 minutes each
Kickboxing

Today, DH has to attend the funeral of a beloved co-worker who passed away suddenly. They have had grief counselors in to his office. This, on top of Chris...and my Aunt has llung cancer.

Having said all that...I will be making a doc appt for help sleeping.

today is a high protein day for me....

Morning Ladies!!

Beth... Sorry to hear about your Aunt and the co-worker. We've been through both of those situations ourselves. Takes it's toll after a while.

Hope you get that help with sleeping. If we don't sleep we don't heal so it's definitely needed.

Linda!!

I'm here... doing better today. Mom is sounding better this morning as well. Dad finally came up for air long enough to realize that Mom needed him. They went down to the river where we released my brother's ashes and put a rose in the water for each person that loved him.

I spent the day trying to keep his memory alive for my kids. He's starting to fade fast and it just kills me. But it was expected. I was the same age as my daughter when I lost my grandmother and now I have only a couple very vague memories.

But I'll try to keep him "alive" as long as I can. Even if he and I were as different as night and day I know he adored my kids and was a great uncle.

today would be a DD,
So far:
coffee/coconut milk
banana

planned:
some of the left over spring roll guts from yesterday
tilapia for dinner
strawberries dipped in chocolate for evening snack with the hubby

And if you've noticed I gave up on not having fruit... I need it to keep me from eating junk sugar.....

Beth, so sorry to hear about your Aunt and your DH's coworker....hope you get some help for sleeping....everything always seems so much harder to deal with when you don't sleep well.

Dawn, I was talking last night with DS about family members that have passed away and memories of them. We often talk about them and the memories we have. I have very few memories of my Dad to share with my kids (he passed away right before I got married but had only been in my life for 2 years before he passed away)....

Had my PT for my foot this morning....it's really helping already! Class tonight...I'm sure it will be torture...in a good way!

I hope to get a bunch of cooking done today....need to have food prepared to keep things simple!

Hey Linda, Glad the PT is helping.
Hope class goes well and kicks your booty.

I've done two sessions of yoga today.
I planned on doing my morning/noon/night video but decided to go with regular Sun Salutations instead.

I guess it's what I needed because it really helped calm me this morning and stretched out the kinks this afternoon.

I might still do my video before bed tonight. We'll see.....

Planning some KBs later since it's a DD and supposedly you gain more strength on lighter eating days...

Who knows if it's true but it's worth a try.

I've been looking into some gut "protocols" that a few paleo women without gallbladders are following to help do the support that the missing gallbladder would have done. I'm not jumping in with both feet just yet but I did add Yogi Kombucha Tea a few days ago and it seems to be helping. Could be totally placebo too. But hey I'll take what I can get.

Next up will be introducing fermented foods. I hated them when I was younger... I'm hoping that my tastes have changed enough to tolerate it well now.

Okey dokey...

Did my weigh after a DD and it's slowly coming back down. Just a few more to go. Hate that I'm re-losing YET AGAIN... but at least it's coming down.

Hopefully this time I can get it straight through that wall and keep going further before the big bounce up that seems to be inevitable.

Today is an UD:
So far:
coffee/coconut milk

planned:
Mostly foods that need to be eaten
not sure about how I'll work them into meals but
I have
bananas and strawberries
acorn squash and spaghetti squash
I'll pair them with some proteins and
good fats is all I know at this point

I had PT this morning...it went well! I have at least 3 more sessions....we finally got the money straightened out with the PT place....I was mis-billed last year but they never sent the refund plus I had paid too many co-pays (I had paid ahead on those)...so they are going to apply all of that to this time around! Yay!

Class last night was a killer...I had to do some alternative stuff because for some reason my lower back hurt and I didn't want to aggravate it. I can really feel it in my upper body today....the alternatives are not easier than the kb exercises at all!

Did some shopping this morning, too....bought an iPad for me....it will be so much easier to bring along to show pictures to my Mom and MIL as well as for getting books to read. A couple of my girlfriends and I are starting a little book club so figure this will be easier than dragging a book along!

We stopped and picked up wings for lunch....will be making a salad tonight. Hope to get some cooking done today, too...

Be sure to update on the new stuff you're trying, Dawn....I'm always interested...especially since I have no gallbladder, either!

Glad PT and class went so well Linda!! Hope your back is feeling better today.
I must be having sympathy because I woke up with mine tweaked this morning. You'll have to let me know how you like your iPad. I've avoided it and gone with the alternatives up to this point.

Morning Ms.Beth!!

I'm doing pretty good here other than the back. I'll try to get it to loosen up with some yoga in a little bit. Moving slowly and not doing more than my body wants.

Eating is going well and I am definitely looking forward to my DD today.

so far:
coffee/coconut milk

planned:
banana
acorn squash
spaghetti squash
fish
chicken

Just enough to finish up the veggies today and still be under my numbers.

Definitely time for grocery shopping. The cupboard is bare.

So far my back seems fine...I didn't do much yesterday but am planning a quick kb session in a few minutes....I'll only do about 15 minutes of it, I think.

Lots to do today! Going to a facial beauty party tonight...have to bring a snack...making something grain free!

Better go do my workout before I run out of time!

Happy Weekend!!

Hope the workout and party went great, Linda!!

The weekend did NOT start out how we'd planned. But what weekend ever does??

I did get 3 rounds of Sun Salutations done before my body made me stop. Then did tons of walking while shopping... joy joy... fun fun....

Working on housework, yardwork, and grading papers for the rest of the day. So, I'm sure to get a good workout in there somewhere. Maybe not the grading papers part.

so far today:
coffee/coconut milk
"Paleo Cookies"
chocolate covered macadamias... I know I know....
some sausage

planned:
I'm thinking about IF'ing from 4pm till lunch tomorrow so we'll see.....

Still need to get to the grocery store for some veggies and some dates for the breakfast muffins I'm making for tomorrow.

Morning Ladies!!

No weigh in today after my enjoyment of the weekend. Today is a DD and I'm happy for it.

I'll be trying out a new Yogi tea today that's called Healthy Fasting. Supposedly it'll make it easier by curbing the appetite. We'll see what happens.

So far:
coffee/coconut milk

planned:
Healthy Fasting Tea
Kombucha Tea
banana when I break the morning liquid fast......
buttery eggs and leeks for lunch
90% ground beef and cabbage for dinner
blanched yellow squash "noodles" for snack
apple if needed

Good Morning! Had a good weekend! I did eat a few off plan things but only a nibble here and there....talked with DS over the weekend and he's ready to do Primal....my BIL's cousin's wife has been doing Paleo for the last couple of months and announces daily on FB how well she's doing...it gets kind of annoying but it's also for motivation, I'm sure. DS said he doesn't want to give up dairy at this point so I said we'll keep it Primal for now and see how it goes...much easier for me with everyone on board! So I need to make a few things that he can take in his lunch that are grain free....he's been doing mostly low carb so we're really just tightening things up a bit.

Class tonight...wonder what he has in store for us tonight? He said we're working up to 100 snatches! We're doing 70 at a time now so it won't be long before he adds 30 more!

Good Morning!!

Up Day here so we had a special treat that I've been trying to make since the weekend.

so far:
coffee/coconut milk
Chunky Monkey Muffin(Paleo-ish)
The texture was very similar to the Pumpkin Cranberry Muffins which tells me they'll taste even better straight out of the fridge tomorrow

planned:
Spaghetti Squash Eggs(hubby and I really like these)
cup of Yogi Tea
Fish and sweet potatoes fries (odd combo I know..LOL)
handful of Macs if needed

Morning!!
Sorry about the walk, Linda!!!

Hi, Dawn!!

I am TRYING to get thru p90x!! LOL! One of DS's lady-loves left it at our house over a year ago, She wanted it back, and we made arrangements for her to pick it up at Gma and Gpa's (neutral territory ) NINE months ago....and she never showed up! Gma just sent it back to our house...so, until she picks it up...IF EVER....gymnast DS and I are gonna do it!! LOL!

He makes it all the way thru, I last 20 to 30 minutes-modified-but hey, it is bonding time for us! LOL! And he was not doing his strength training at home (we are not gym parents and don't force it....it HAS to come from him)....this way his coach is happy too! My only problem is my right ankle. The one tendon that ALMOST needed surgery when I rolled my anke....it has limited range, and it HURTS after a while!!!

Class was torture! In a good way, of course! We did kettebells, TRX strap plus some other stuff in between....loved it! I always know we're going to work really hard and even though I feel like a giant noodle when I'm done, I love how I feel!

Tomorrow's PT will be adding some exercises on top of the stretching and ultrasound treatments...hope it's going to help all my issues. The therapist said it will! I really like her a lot.

Food is going ok....making a pork roast for dinner but most of it will be portioned out for DS's work lunches. I also have a bunch of other stuff to make to have on hand for snacks and meals.

Beth, good luck with that workout! DS tried it and didn't care for it but he does do kettlebells in the garage and treadmill....we have weights downstairs but I'm not sure if he uses them or not.

Dawn, did you make those sliders with the bacon?

I'm off to get food cooking....want to watch Biggest Loser tonight so I need to get stuff done!

Yup, we did them and they were YUMMY!!!

Kids snagged the leftovers for lunch today which is why hubby and I got the eggs/spaghetti squash.

Hey Beth!!

I've wanted to do the P90X stuff for a while now but can't seem to get moving on it.

Good Morning My Dearies!!

I am in complete shock right now. The scale has dropped like a lead balloon the last two days.

Not quite back at my current low but within kissing distance.

Only things different were completely sticking to primal and adding in the Yogi Healthy Fasting Tea.

Hubby also bought some Yogi Blueberry Slim that's supposed to suppress appetite that I'll try out this weekend because that's when I have the most trouble.

so far:
coffee/coconut milk

planned:
either butter eggs and leeks or spaghetti squash and eggs
macadamia nuts only if needed
banana
pork fried "rice"(cauliflower) (I'll see if I can find and post the recipe on FB)

I really need to workout but haven't been able to force myself to.

I had to go to the dentist this morning..just cleaning...no cavities! Yay! Then DH and I went to lunch at the Mongolian Grill for some yummy stir fry....

I have PT in an hour and class tonight.....DH and I talked and decided that I should go ahead and order the TRX straps for home so I'll ask trainer guy where he ordered from.

Where do you get the tea, Dawn? I'm not a tea drinker but I'd be willing to try....

I'm glad to hear your scale is dropping! Yay!

I haven't even looked at mine....with all the inflammation and puffiness I have there is no point to stepping on it right now. I have to find a way to be healed before I can concentrate on losing again....

Thanks! I'll look for it...

Class was a killer....double kettlebells, pushups, abs and repeat it all!

Trainer guy was telling us about a client of his that today did 100 snatches with a 30 lb. kb plus at least 10 different exercises on the straps and then 100 more snatches plus ab work.....and she had done a 15 mile run earlier in the day! This is the one that he thought broke her wrist last week! And she's 41 years old! I was worn out just listening to the list of things they did (he said he was worn out, too, because he did all the snatches with the 45 kb!)

Wow,
I can only hope to get to that level.

I admit I've been completely lazy lately and doing "just enough" to get by. But I seriously need to amp things up to get to the level I want to be at before our summer trip.

Even if I'm not skinny I want to be in the best shape possible so I can keep up with all the plans his in-laws make. They are crazy bad about trying to cram anything and everything into our visits.

Today is Up Day:
so far:

Coffee/coconut milk(absolutely no sweetener.... I am now OFFICIALLY AS free!!!! )
last of the chunky monkey muffins(this was the 3rd day after baking and it was a smidge dry but still awesome with the coffee)

Only requests the kids made were to take half the chocolate chips and put them inside the muffins and to change the nuts to slivered almonds instead

planned:

lunch:
no clue... what ever looks good

Dinner:We postponed the pork fried "rice" from last night to tonight

snack: handful macs and yogi tea

Today I'll be making "sugar cookies" for the kiddos snack and we'll be making lemon muffins for tomorrow's breakfast. I'll let you know how it works out.
