...well..good thing we opened the bar...lots of crews for lunch...and every guy with a hunting license that didn't go to work today.
the drift in front of the bar was 5 ft. dh and the kid who works for us have NOT stopped shovelling.

right now...doing some laundry...gonna get in some exercise...dh does not want the van on the street, so, i am perfectly content to snuggle up with my cats and a book...

dh just got home bearing gifts...an 8 oz steak and a head of letuce.
me thinks he wants meat for supper, after all that shoveling today...
I, on the other hand, am having a chef salad.
I will pan fry his steak...and then the "Mr. Hyde" part of me comes out. I think there should be a Top Secret Society of Pan Lickers. I LOVE steak drippings!!! I will begin membership here....(no dues, lifetime
status applies)

My salad was YUMMY!! I pan fried 2 strips of bacon...then fried dh's stk in the bacon grease.
chopped up my bacon, threw in the bowl of scant lettuce,1 hardboiled egg, about 2 oz of sharp cheddar, cut into little strips, and about 1/8 c of mini pepperoni. Then, when the stk was about done, i warmed up some chopped ham and some chk fajita meat in the bacon/stk drippings. All with blue cheese dressing.

i ended up with a big burger at work. we weigh them out to 12 oz. i could not eat it all...i'd put 2 slices of swiss on, some sauted onions and mushrooms. probly ate about 9 oz of it.
when i got after pool league...beef summer sausage and some thin slices of hard cheese.
treated mysel to some russel stovers candy tonight. 4 pcs. of choc covered toffee. will probly end up paying the price for that. i'll just have to pull the covers over our heads!

not sure...but i might get to stay home from the bar tonight.
this afternoon, dh and i browsed a bit at walmoart, spent a bit to much $$ for what we came with...but that's true everywhere i guess...

to keep my mind off of the frig, i vacuumed, and pulled off throws and things to wash and freshen up.

dh wants me to make the oopsie cake tonight. the last time i did, i used cherry jello in the recipee, and baked it in a round cake pan. when i served it, i dumped a sf vanilla pudding cup on his piece and topped it homemade whipped cream. he'd better eat the dang thing in 2 days....

Ahhhh . . . a scale dancer . . . I swear it should be an olympic event with a scoring system that includes the mount and dismount of the apparatis.

Dusk - you are to funny!! I agree on the olympic event!! LOL

we just kinda ended up "snacking" for dinner. I took 2 low carb tortillas, spread some spinach & artichoke cream cheese on them, a tad bit of slivered onion and a few chopped green olives. Then I layed 2 slices of turkey breast (walmart lunch meat stuff) on each one and rolled them up. Cut like a pinwheel and plated them. I baked scotch eggs tonight...and I love them the best right out of the oven...so, i had 1 of those also.

never did have the oopsie cake...that's ok, tomorrow's a new day...

Which foot do you mount the beast with, the right or the left. Me? I'm a left mounter with a right foot dismount.

what the heck is with people today??? I swear, sometimes I just don't GET IT!!!
day shift at the bar usually starts at 10:00. I always wear my phone...i have no choice. but that doesn't mean that i look at every 5 min. especially when i am at the bar. the bar has a land line....duh!!!!! with a REAL LOUD RINGER!!! so, especially in the kitchen, i don't hear my cell...or i don't hear the text notifier. I went to the bathroom at 10:30 and checked my phone...found a txt from my day bartender...not sure if she can make it in...something to do with her g'ma in the nursing home, her and her dad going up there to try and take her to the hospital....whatever.
don't get me wrong...it's not that i don't "believe" this story....but the RULE is ...NOBODY TXT'S IN SICK OR LATE....NEVER...USE THE BAR PHONE AND CALL!!! NO EXCEPTIONS!! and this gal is 44 yrs old.
besides that....i think she "chose" the nursing home story to avoid a confrontation at work today. so...i have learned over the years that there is usually a thread of truth in the "story" somewhere...it's just a matter of how much are you willing to swallow??
this is one of those gals that is right up front with advice to the younger staff...when they do not ask for it..and then looks absolutely ridiculous when she does the "things she does"
i know...i'm rambling...just need to dump. now i will have to address this on mon morning. just how i want to start the week out.

... WOW !!...this has not happened in a long time...I did not go the bar this morning.....yet.
I told my right hand girl that i was not coming in today. that i was going to stay home and drink coffee like NORMAL people. dh and i put away 2 pots
now...he went over...and i have to go to a bar downtown at noon to play a pool match (snowed out last wed.)...but it felt WONDERFULL !!!

of course i didn't sleep in...awake at the usual 5:45...but that was ok. i got to enjoy the paper. then i rode for 30 min/5.3 miles (getting better), sit-ups on bowflex, and 30 min on treadmill. i wish i could start EVERY DAY LIKE THIS!!!!

have a great low carb day everyone!!!!!

sears wasn't so bad...even with all the christmas shoppers. i found a bedspread i liked, so we got that and some new pillows. went to k-mart and got some sheets that were on sale and some new throw pillows. bedroom is looking prety spiffy now!
I fixed dh some dessert...1 piece of oopsie cake left. He'd better eat it by tomorrow.
I fixed myself a turkey/ham sandwich on oopsie bread tonight. I should not have waited to eat so long when i ate the 1st time today. I tend to eat more later then. But, boy, that sandwich was good. I havn't had 1 of those for a very long time.
I'm hopin to sleep like a baby tonight...

...well, i nipped 1 budding drama actress "right in the budd" today befor she could even get started...and the other, well, it was a litle "chilly" tween us. i guess i have a real problem keeping the LINE of emplyee vs. friend in mind. in a perfect world...you should be able to have both...no division. In reality...if you do not keep the 2 separate...you WILL get run over.

did great in the eating department today.
1 scotch egg for breakfast

small lettuce salad topped with/ 1 hb egg, 1/8 c shredded cheese, sliced onion, 4 oz chick dipped in buff. sauce, blue cheese dr.

another salad with/chedder cheese, onion, olives, chick fajita meat,1 slice of turkey, and salad pepperoni. blue cheese dr.

dh wants to go downstairs and workout... who am i to argue ?
