Skinny Girl

I want to be a skinny girl for once in my life. I've never done it. I've been at more attractive weights than I am now, but I don't think I've been ideal weight since junior high. Although I was barely overweight in high school - I wish I'd known at the time how good I actually looked, lol.

So I re-started today, I've got food for the week, although I need to do some bulk cooking tomorrow.

My Basic Goals:
~Stick with the eating plan
~Drink more water and less Diet Coke
~Add in exercise within the next two weeks, even if it's only 20 minutes
~Get enough sleep
~Smile and act like I like it, lol

OK, did good today. Probably too many pistachios, but other than that I pretty much just had a bunch of chicken and some coffee today.

Planning on going to bed at a reasonable hour tonight, and I need to work on my water consumption.

Not hungry, not munchy. Kind of surprising as evenings are usually my most difficult time.

*visualizing Skinny Kimmy* ohmmm

Thanks, Anna. I would love to be able to buy cute clothes - it's a bummer just trying to dress the mutton and hope for looking Not Too Bad, rather than Lookin' Good!

OK, so yesterday I had a greek salad, some genoa salame and provolone, coffee and diet coke (only two - that's progress!), and a plate of taco meat w/cheese, sour cream, avocado and hot sauce. (I was too much like a horse to the barn to stop for lettuce on the way home, lol). And Ian ate the last of the tomatoes. I bought four large tomatoes on Sunday, knowing we'd be doing taco night. Ian ate three, and was reaching for the fourth, when I told him I'd like to be able to use it for tacos in a couple of days (boy loves his tomatoes!). So I get this message yesterday afternoon..."Mom?" (Huge Dramatic Pause) "I ate the last tomato. If you want you can use my allowance to buy more." (Another Dramatic Pause) "Ok. Bye. I love you." I teased him all night about how great it would be if we had tomatoes in our tacos, how they really made the meal and it just wasn't the same without them . (And I assured him that he didn't need to spend his allowance on tomatoes. That I love the fact that he loves something so healthy. He said he just couldn't resist, lol) I'll be the only mother who has to hide tomatoes from her kids!

Still didn't do well w/the water, got very little sleep night before last, and no exercise. I did get more sleep last night, though. And I'm going to concentrate on the water today. Planning to take tuna salad and some celery for lunch.

Weighed this morning and I'm back down the 5 lbs I'd lost a few weeks ago - so now my stats are accurate again.

It's helping my resolve being in such an image-conscious environment, and having to stand the better part of the day. Both really good reasons to drop the poundage. Not to mention I'm in front of a mirror all day!

I'm not counting carbs right now - just eating things I know to be low carb. If I hit a wall, I'll buckle down and keep track of grams and whatnot. But for now my main goal is to get past the initial cravings and into the groove.

yay! you can do it!

For now the only thing I can follow is to eat until I am full and stop. No food s off limits. This is the only way I can do it or I will obsess. Eventually as the pounds come off I do begin to tweak...keep going Hip, don't let this "holiday" stuff get to you. This is getting to be the dangerous time of year..get your mind STRONG NOW.. I am working on it too!

Thanks, Monet!

Um...haven't done very well the last few days . I think I'm going to try to regroup this weekend, actually do some mass cooking. Things are so rushed in the morning that I really need to have some grab and go food to take with me, or I use it as an excuse to go off for the day, and then that turns into the night...blah, blah, blah.

I really do want to do this. It amazes me that it's so hard. I simply must get back into the groove!

Doing a little better with the water and the sleep, so there's that.

it's a process...you don't have to be pressured to be "perfect" just because you started a journal...belive it or not if you make a few changes (deosn't have to be totally drastic) you can see your rweight come down.

Thanks, Anna. When I lost weight last time, I had great perspective. And I was perfectly capable of "slipping" and then shrugging it off and resuming my program.

I just seem to run to extremes right now. I'll get it. I really just can't stand how I am right now, and desperately want to feel healthy and strong again.

I know that preparation will help. I'm going to run a quick errand and then I need to at least cook up a bag of chicken breasts - that's easy enough.

Thanks for the encouragement!

Back on. Cooked my chicken last night and that helped me keep on track. I cooked some salmon tonight. I also bought some eas protein shakes so that I have something to grab and go. I'm trying to eliminate my excuses.

Another day on plan. Ate salmon for lunch and dinner. Had some mushrooms sauteed in butter with garlic, and an eas shake for breakfast and snack; some cottage cheese late afternoon when I got home. 1 cup of coffee, lots of water, and *gasp* no Diet Coke. Aaaand I actually remembered to take my vitamins this am!

I'm planning on making spaghetti meat sauce and putting it over french style green beans tomorrow night. One of my boys hates spaghetti noodles, and they both love green beans. Hopefully it won't be too gross.

Fully intended to make a crustless quiche tonight, but wound up sitting on my ample assets and playing on the neenernet instead.

I kind of want to weigh myself even though it's only the end of day two. Maybe tomorrow.

So I was totally running behind today, and basically created a situation where I could have really gone off the rails. But I pulled through! It wasn't an ideal day, but I didn't give in and get carby stuff for the convenience. Didn't bring breakfast or lunch, nor did I make my coffee at home as usual. So...I got a cheap packet of beef jerky and some coffee at the gas station. Not perfect, and I'm pretty sure the creamer they offered had some sugar, but better than nothing. Then at lunch I went to the grocery store and got the cat food that I forgot to get yesterday and picked up 2 4-packs of eas shakes. Drank one for lunch and had another on the way home.

I have to admit, I was starving by the time I got home, but I did make it.

Made my green bean spaghetti with some shredded cheese for dinner tonight - hit the spot, and the boys liked it, too. I made enough and they liked it enough that we all agreed we would be fine with having it two nights in a row (I love microwave nights! ).

No diet coke again (this is such a freaking miracle).

Water was good - I'm on my second very large bottle.

Aaand...I weighed myself when I got home, because my pants feel looser and a ring I couldn't wear last week fits.. and I've lost 8 lbs since Monday! I know it's water weight, but it still feels grand!

Congrats on the 8lbs! It's such a good feeling isn't it.

If only I could do it 10 more times just like that. :|

I do spaghetti sauce with green beans often and lurve it. Good stuff!

I'm getting back into the Protein Shakes too I think. I'm so over that Chicken and cheese stuff I made. It was nice the first 2 times ... I hate cooking for one person. Blah!

Yes, Shimm, I do wish I could just lose 8lbs every few days 'til I'm at goal! Wouldn't that be nice? Will the chicken/cheese stuff freeze?

You know, Anna, I've always meant to try that. Not sure why I haven't. I love every kind of squash I've ever had, so I'm sure I'd love it.

Another good, on plan, day. Cheese for breakfast, protein shake for snack, tomato sauce stuff (no green beans) for lunch, and then green bean spaghetti for dinner. Oh, and I had some jerky in the afternoon.

This is the first time I haven't felt hungry. Day 4, right on schedule! lol.

The good news: My pants are loose; I keep having to hike them up.

The bad news: I just bought the freakin' things two weeks ago.

I think I can deal with these kinds of problems, though. I'm also wearing the ring that wouldn't fit last week. That's never happened to me before. It's a ring I haven't worn in awhile, and I was totally shocked when it felt like my pinky was going to fall off!

Still doing good. Just made some egg muffins for the next couple of days. Kind of fell off the water bandwagon over the weekend, but I've only had one Diet Coke. I even have a coupon for 5 12pks of Coke product/$13 and I'm not using it!

Haven't weighed since the other day as I'm afraid the scale will have shot back up. Plus, I'm feeling bloaty and TOM in looming, so I'm just going to stay away for a little while.

I'm totally hyper and feeling more motivated (physically) than usual. I almost went for a walk earlier!

I seriously think that if I continue to feel this good, I really will be going for walks, and it's been a long time since I did any kind of dedicated exercising.

I tried to make a peanut sauce chicken concoction last night, but I was missing some key ingredients and tried to wing it. It was edible, but nothing to repeat. I'll have to follow an actual recipe next time.
