8 months of ketosis, - 2 days
Hi all, I'm not even sure how I found this board but just started a diet and have wanted to do a journal for awhile.
Basically, 32 years of age...5'8" about 230lbs...was in shape until about 28 and have just completely let myself go the past 4 years. My plan here is to stay focused until june 4th 2010 and be in great shape for next summer. The only cheat days I'm giving myself are thanksgiving and christmas... I'm only going to weigh myself twice, on new years and june 4th to keep the longer term goals in mind and not get hung up or over confident on the short term numbers. I'll post a picture once I've lost some, not interested in documenting what I look like right here as an act of permently erasing this state of my body. I ate 10 pieces of pizza yesterday and started today on the diet... Going to keep things simple, 90/10 beef, chicken breast, eggs, cheese, ground turkey, olive oil, lettuce, onions, cabbage, spinach, broccoli... Some of my "friends" on this diet(so things don't taste so bad) Sriracha hot chili sauce(rooster sauce) homeade cilantro chutney soy sauce + splenda + ground red chili powder mustard some better tasting salad dressing that i haven't come up with yet. tomarrow's meals should look pretty much like today... eggs/spinach for breakfast 2 meals of cheeseburgers with cabage leaf as a bun a chicken salad for excersise I'm going to walk 1 mile a day with a 20lbs of sand in a backpack to start out then pushup and kettlebell swings 3 times a week..will probly start lifting weights at a gym in the next month as the weather gets bad and kill the above excersises. |

Well, at the end of day 2 here and everything is going pretty good.
I guess the only thing I realized today was how much cabbage sucks raw to eat so I'm cutting that out unless I can find an interesting way to cook it. 4 meals today 4 eggs and a slice of cheese 2 meals of of burgers on lettuce leaf with mustard, for about .75lbs of 90/10 beef. chicken salad of 8oz of chicken breast with lettuce, onions and and a little bit of light ranch dressing. cheated a little bit at night and had a salad of lettuce and onions but it worked as far as hunger/mental. Going to looking into possibly starting a fiber supplement. Not going to start excersise until next monday when I know for sure I'm in ketosis. Biggest motivation right now is knowing tomarrow morning I'll look a slight % better than I did the previous day. Looking at cabbage recipes this could make an interesting after dinner snack over multiple nights.. 3 slices bacon, cut into thirds 1/3 cup vegetable oil 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste 1 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste 1 head cabbage, cored and sliced 1 white onion, chopped Fry it all up and thats that. Well 6 days in now and everything has gone great.
I've been so not hungry that I'm going to start counting calories next week because I'm not sure I'm actually eating enough. Joined a gym and will start lifting again on monday too. Somewhat following the advice now from Lyle Mcdonalds work on ketogenic diets and going to try to get in as deep of ketosis as possible for a month and see what happens. Need to get a multi vitamin. Going to get some cheap whey protein from wallmart for a post workout meal. Cravings for junk are pretty much gone. |
