Angela's Journal
Well, here I am! I am 49 years old, married for just about ever, have 3 grown kids, and the 7th grandbaby on the way! July 3, 2009 I hit my highest weight ever--245 lbs. I knew I was gaining, but really kind of put it out of my mind. I started feeling like Sh*t, and made a Dr. appt. (a real rarity for me).
So it turns out, my sugar was on the high side...and I was fat. I was expecting some miracle pill or something I guess. What I got was "You need to lose weight." Hmmmm....bummer. I thought about it for a few days, and decided to go LC. More later |

I have tried LC eating in the past, and did pretty well, but didn't stick with it long.
This time--I told myself it would be different. I am not following any specific plan. Just low carbs. I try to keep it under 20/day. As of yesterday, I am down 40 pounds! WooHoo!! I hit a stall for a good part of this month, so I have been doing the meat & egg thing for 5 days. This week I rid my body of 3 pounds of fat, so I guess I'll stick with it for a bit. The problem is, I am hungry sometimes. Well--snacky. I'm doing pretty well staying away from snacks, because I want want want to get under 200 SOON! My 31st anniversary is coming up the first week of Oct, and I was hoping to reach that goal by then, but it may have to get pushed back to the end of the month. That's ok. I'm losing. I'd love for it all to come off at once, but I know it took a long time to put on....sigh. My goal (I think) is about 175. I weighed 155 when I got married at age 18. And I looked GOOD! hehehe I have a large, athletic build and have never been what people would call thin, but I carry my weight fairly well. Anyway, I figure after 31 years of marriage, I can allow myself 20 lbs! Does anyone have any snack ideas?? I love macadamia nuts....but I think they arent' allowed on the meat & egg (I can't call it diet--then I won't do it!!). I guess that's it for now. I'll start posting my menu soon. |

Also forgot to add I have been on meds for hypothyroidism for 15 years. Anyone have any experience with that stalling or slowing weight loss?

Last day of September! Tomorrow I'm going to get back on the losing path. September hasn't gone like I had hoped it would....I've been in a stall for most of the month. Only lost 7 pounds all month.
I've been eating right, so now I will add exercising to my day. I have a Gazelle (walking thing). My goal is 100 miles in October. I go walking with my daughter some, too, so between both avenues, I should be able to git-er-done! |
