Thanks for the encouragement, lolly-pants.

I made an omelette of eggs, hot italian sausage, cherry tomatoes, chanterelles mushrooms and olive oil. It was scrumptious and kept me really full till about 2ish, and then I had my spaghetti squash and meaty ragout for lunch with my mom and sister. Then I had some dark chocolate coconut bark for a sweet treat. I feel better about it and hope I can get back to being under 180 soon. God it sucks being on the higher end of my weight spectrum. I want to be in the 160's SO bad!!!!!!!

Anyway, I just booked a trip to Maui with a couple of friends. These girls are SO fun, but they're my binge-partners so I need to figure out a game plan to stay on track. I think I'm going to plan some physical outing each day so I can lose weight. The best part is, on our way back home, we're looping through Chicago cuz my friends want to go to a wedding there that I may go with them to, and cuz I want to see my bf while I'm there. Yay cuz it'll be a week before my birthday and I want to see him so bad.

Anyway, for all the above-mentioned reasons, my fat *ss needs to seriously DROP SOME WEIGHT now!!!! My trip is Oct 2nd, and I'll be seeing my bf Oct 10-11. Sooo, I want to be in the 175ish range at the very most by then....

And lalala, I think I will text you for emotional support from now on during my breaking points.

When do you leave to visit bf?

Do you just get the chanterelle mushrooms from a regular grocery store or a specialty place?

oooooh Maui!!! While there is always tons of bad options everywhere, Hawai'i is actually a good place to go to stay on plan b/c of tons of fresh veggies and fish. I don't know if you like seafood but if you do, you'll be in heaven. Maybe try having a talk with your friends and ask them to help you stay on plan?

And yes, text me. I may show some tough love, but I remember that I have your best interests at heart so if I get mean its because I care

And about seeing bf, remember I couldn't go this weekend cause the tickets were sold out already by the time he let me know where I had to go to exactly. I purchased a ticket to fly down there for Oct 22 and I'll be staying for like 4 days so that'll be nice. But this coming week i'm leaving on Wednesday for Vegas w/ my sister for work and I'll be gone til Sunday evening so that'll occupy some time. Other than that, school is keeping me busy so I'm trying to not be so sad about not seeing him so soon. Plus we're planning to skype video each other once he gets his camera set up so we can see one another. I have no idea how you have done this for so long. I miss him so much, even just being around him and doing simple stuff like watching a movie. It's very lonely without him here

Ok i'm done with being sappy. I have a crapload of work to do tonight and I need to EAT!!!!

Have a good night chicky

ooohhhh i didn't realize that you weren't going this weekend. I thought you ended up booking a flight for this weekend. I'm sorry boo

Yea, it's so tough not seeing my bf very often. Lately, we've been missing each other even more and trying to see each other more often than just once a month so I'm glad I can see him in a couple weeks.

Today has been easier on the diet. I did make my mom some sugarfree (but using flour) cinnamon walnut scones for her to have with her tea. She eats any little pastries that she buys from the grocery stores but they're just loaded with sugar and she has type II diabetes so I made her some treats. Since it was my first time baking scones, I wanted to taste my creations so I had 1 bite of the scone. It was good, but I think I need to work on the texture a bit. I didn't have baking powder, so i subbed baking soda which obviously doesn't have the same effect. Oopsies!

Final Menu for Tuesday:
B: hot Italian Sausage, cherry tomato, chanterelles mushroom omelette.
L: bowl of spaghetti squash/meaty ragout with parmesan on top, 1.5 Tbsp cashew butter
S: 4 celery stalks with french onion dip (store-bought but it's b*tchin'), 2 cups of indian tea with cream + truvia

I'm not going to eat anything else for the day....about to go take a sleeping pill and call it a night. I have SO much to do tomorrow!!!!!

Addendum to Tuesday's menu:
About 7 small green figs total for the day. (about 16g sugar from what I found online)

I woke up this AM and still at 182lbs. I think my body is pissed at what I did to it and it's not going to let go of the weight so easily. Also, I seriously can't stuff my snout with figs today. FML what's wrong with me?!?!?!?

Soooo, today, I started the day at 7:30am with a 3-egg omelette of cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, fried eggplant that my mom made last night, and turkey, cooked in butter. Also having a homemade latte with sugarfree gingerbread syrup. I usually try not to eat breakfast so early in the day so I can stay full later but today, for some reason, I wanted a whole breakfast as soon as I woke up.

I have SO much work to do today and I just don't think I'll get through it.

Anyhoo, time to start my list this AM and plug away like a mo-fo.

chicky,

figs are good!! I love them soooo much but a couple words of advice:

try to eat no more than like 4-5 at a time and when you eat them, pair it with some cheese because the fat in it will help to slow down the rise in your blood sugar. then you probably won't wake up so hungry the next day also. but you also didn't eat much yesterday either so consider that as well. overall, figs are awesome and filled with vitamins, minerals and fiber!!

and I don't like to eat too early either. i usually get up and have my coffee and lollygag for a while till i'm starving then make my huge breakfast to eat. i dont like having my coffee or tea with my food.

Hope you're having a good day and doing well with the everyday challenges

Final Menu for Wednesday:
B: 3 egg omelette with turkey/veggies in butter, 1/2 of a pumpkin/coconut oil concoction I made, breve latte
L: Poached Halibut with browned ginger butter, parmesan garlic spaghetti squash, 2 figs
Snacks: 3 oz Mozarella cheese with indian chai with cream, 2 tbsp cashew butter, 1 cucumber
D: Polish dog (no bun) at Costco, diet coke

Freakin cashew butter is too damn good. I have a 1/3 of a jar left. Trying to get my sisters to love it and eat it but they think it's too rich so I'm gobbling it up daily. Seriously, I need to give it away...it was too expensive to just throw it away....but I prolly would be better off throwing it away vs. eating it. Also, I am happy I only gobbled up 2 figs today vs. yesterday.

I'm hoping I'm like 180ish in the AM. I seriously need to LOSEEEEEE. On a good note about Maui, I talked to the girls I'm going with that I seriously can't binge while there...that I need to get to 160 by the end of the year...they agreed and since they're going from Maui to Chicago for the wedding, they're being careful and want to try to lose some weight too while there. We've vowed to eat fresh fish, some fresh fruit, and alcohol for the week. If i stick to vodka, I will be fine. Plus, thankfully they want to do lots of physical stuff too. OMG Sooooo excited. The best part was that we got such an amazing deal on the flight and hotel.I can't waitttt!!!!

I'm also happy about the trip to Chicago right after....hopefully I'll be a bronze goddess by then. Can't wait to see my bf. I miss himmmmm!!!!

Anyway, I feel like eating something but I just took a sleeping pill so hopefully I'll zonk out soon. Today, I shouldn't have eaten that mozzarella cheese or the 2 figs. The other stuff wasn't too bad.

Tomorrow, I'm going to Yank Sing with a colleague which is a dim sum place. Arrggghh, it's going to be hard, but I think I'll eat a light breakfast. Maybe just 2 eggs in butter or something so it's minimal carbs if any. That way, all the sauces and stuff won't add up to too many carbs. Then I'll have a lightish dinner. I am craving that French Onion dip i bought so maybe some veggies and dip and a little meat. I'm such a heifer planning everything out like this but I have to or else I'm lost for the day.

Also, I got like 80% of what I should have done, done today. Hope to wake up early in the AM and start getting a bunch of stuff kicked out the second I wake up in the AM. I never wrote my list today but that's a MUST in the AM.

K, off to google fun activities in Maui.

hi Chica! I see your working hard to reach your goals and I'm sure you'll make it!

Your menus's sound so tasty and enjoyable.

We're just today starting a meat/eggs fast so I hope I can break the 176 mark I reached but this morning for no other reason then I started a new exercise program last night I was 178 I so need to stay off that d*mn scale until the 1st ONE WEEK.

Your vacation and boyfriend visit sounds like some good times You be carefull and have a great time and take lots of pictures!

Okay, thankfully, I'm on a downward direction again. THANK GOD!!!

I woke up at 180.5lbs this morning. Sad, but this is a good weight for now....Hope to be back down to 175lbs by the end of the month to make my goal...I think it's possible.

This morning, I'm drinking coffee with half n half and the pumpkin/coconut oil concoction I made. It's not tasty but with that much coconut oil in it, it makes me super nauseous all morning so I know I won't be hungry till dim sum later. Speaking of which, I'm not looking forward to my meeting because the colleague is actually a very egotistical, condescending jerk to me, but oh well. That's what happens when you're just a peon working your way up the todem pole.

My aunt is making a bunch of fig jam right now with yummy green figs, lots of cardamom, and splenda. I hope that I'll be able to have that in major moderation over the fall season. Like once I'm below 170, I might make it a once a week breakfast treat and have a little greek yogurt, fig/cardamom jam, with sliced almonds on top. MMmmmmm

Disa, thank you for your comments. I'm all about enjoying my food. I would rather shoot myself than give up the enjoyment of food which is actually why I love low-carbing. There aren't limits and I'm allowed to go hog-wild with the "allowed" foods in preparing dishes. Then it's up to me not to go hog-wild and eat the whole thing at once. I reallly enjoy it. Are you a cook type? Have you seen Julie and Julia? It was such a cute movie....made me wanna make Boeuf Bourguignon really bad. LOL

I love French cooking, particularly in the Fall and Winter. Such yummy comfort foods....

Anyhoo, I'm off to do a little cleaning, a little work, and dress up for my extremely fun lunch-meeting.

TTYS

How was the dim sum? I don't think I've ever eaten it but I've seen it here in SF a lot and Ive gone with friends that ate it. Hopefully you and your colleague got along well

I would love some figs right now, sliced in half and flipped onto a pan to warm a bit and topped with some fresh goat cheese. YUM!!

Anyways, hope you're having a good day. And please tell me how you make your pumpkin concoction. I love pumpkin.

Final Menu for Thursday:
B: Pumpkin/Coconut oil concoction, coffee w/ half n half
L: Quite a bit of dim sum. I was f-ungry. not toooo many carbs but probably like 30g at lunch.
D: Chicken/eggplant/pepper/basil dish at a thai restaurant plus some shrimp/spinach little appetizer thingy that was good. Probably 10ish g of sugar unfortunately.
S: 4 little pieces of dark chocolate/coconut oil bark

Sooo, not a very good day on my diet but not too bad and it wasn't that I was out of control...this was planned so I don't feel like I cheated or anything.

I'm ridiculously tired and will post again tomorrow at some point. Working from 7am-9pm tomorrow. Wish me luck.

181 lbs this am

i'm mad...just ate 1 tablespoon cashew butter and 1/4 lowcarb bread with some Puck Cheese (European cream cheese) and a cup of coffee. Basically that has probably about 5g total carb in that little mini breakfast. I'm working an event today where we'll be serving organic chicken all day so hopefully it'll keep me from bingeing on other bad stuff. I've gotta admit that I'm a little discouraged. I know it's because the dimsum had high carbs and probably a lot of sodium in my food yesterday so I should just chill and deal with it. In fact, I'll stop being a party-pooper right now and not be upset. I do need to get to 175 though by the end of the month dammit!!!!!!

Getting serious now!

Chica,

I can tell you're frustrated but try not to be. You ate lots of carby stuff this weekend so your body needs time to 'reset'. I say stick to minimal carbs over the next week or so in order to get into a fat burning mode again. Avoid all bites and nibbles of any carby food and you'll be back on a losing spree in no time

Hope you're having a good day!

Friday's Menu:
B: 1 tablespoon cashew butter and 1/4 lowcarb bread with some Puck Cheese (European cream cheese) and a cup of coffee
L: 1 sample of a hot pocket (1-bite size sample), Hot Dog no bun w/ mustard, 5 bitesize samples of chicken cooked in oil and soy sauce.
D: (late at night about 10pm when I finally got home) 1.5 Tbsp Cashew Butter, 4 figs cooked in splenda + cardamom, 1oz mozzarella cheese, 1oz pepperoni.*

*I had a low-carb binge when I got home because I was so exhausted and depressed I just needed to eat something.

I woke up at 182 lbs....fabulous. I am definitely bloated as I'm due for my period very soon so I know I'm easily holding on to water weight right now. I need to drink a lot of water today at work...going to be working all day today and tomorrow....

This morning, I'm drinking my coffee and I made a simple pumpkin thingy: Cream cheese/canned pumpkin + 1 egg + pumpkin pie spice + 1/2 tsp vanilla + splenda. whisk together, put in ramekin and microwave for 5 min. It's good and it feels nice and relaxing and comforting and Autumnesque, but I know it's not nearly as good of a breakfast as a nice big omelette. But since I'll be so busy today and probably won't eat too much anyway, i wanted a nice happy breakfast.

Okay, off to shower real fast and get ready for another day of meaty-fun.

Saturday's menu:
B: Coffee, Pumpkin Thing, Some cheddar/asiago cheese and 2 apple slices from a fruit n cheese tray
L: Hot dog without the bun with deli mustard
D: King crab legs w/ lemon and butter, salad, veggies, 2 glasses of wine, 3 bites of creme brulee
S: 1 Tbsp cashew butter (it's finally finisheddddd! yay!)

Okay, so here are the things I'll try not to eat in the coming days:
pumpkin
cheese
nuts
figs

This morning, I am really wanting something sweet and that's probably because I got used to the pumpkin thingy in the AM. Well, that's not going to work anymore cuz I realize I'm like 182 again like a big fat cow. Sooo because I wanted something sweet, I'm having my coffee with a few of my dark choco coconut oil thingies. Hope this'll make me nauseous and not want to eat for a while.

I also really feel bloated and PMS'ing so I really think that has something to do with it. I also don't want to change my profile weight back up to 182 cuz I might cry. I just have to lose this F'ing weight!!!!!

Yesterday, I shouldn't have eaten the following:
At breakfast, shouldn't have touched the apple slices. At dinner, should have only had one glass of wine, especially cuz it was white wine, which I believe is higher in carbs. Also, the menu had a sugarfree ice cream sundae but I figured that it's probably similar in carbs cuz I'd eat much more of it since it was "legal" vs. having a few bites of creme brulee which isn't terribly high in carbs, considering other desserts. Also, just because my bf was being annoying wasn't a reason for me to stuff my face with the last spoon of cashew butter right as I was falling asleep. Anyhoo, such is life. I also am going to be working all day today as well. Leaving in about 45 min and working the whole day. Seriously, working these events is getting to me. I really don't like to work them anymore...can't wait to have good employees running them again.

Oki doki...time to shower and head off for the day!

Good morning Chica,

I'm so glad that your cashew butter is done...now don't buy anymore!! At least you're good with only eating 1-2-3 tbsps here or there. I go straight at it and eat half the jar

And yum, king crab legs!!! that sounds sooooooo good. i'm jealous.

Don't beat yourself up so much over the eating. Take into consideration that it's harder for you to plan stuff due to your job and travels. I know you're in costco a lot so I dont know if you've ever tried the rotisserie chicken salad from their deli but it's really good. It's basically just chicken pulled off the rotisserie w/ bits of celery and onion w/ I think tarragon and mayo. The ingredients list sugar, but it's not any added sugar just the tiny amount that is put in mayo. Anyways, it comes in like a 2 lb container so you'd need to eat and refrigerate leftovers but maybe something like this could be a lunch option for you when you're on your roadshow and you need on plan lunches or dinners ready and easily accessible for you?? Just an idea

Also, for your weight...are you using the same scale right now? (I don't know if you're going home at night or staying in a hotel) but make sure you keep the scale consistent.

And yes, bf was a butt to me last night too. I'm also pms'ing but I swear for some reason it seems like he is and i'm not. i haven't changed, he was just being a needy little girl. As a result...I ate cottage cheese

Hope you have a better day chica

Chica, desperate times call for desperate measures how about a meat/eggs fast for 3 days to get your weight back down before the up coming weekend? How much water are you drinking a day? That always flushes out fluids and can really make a difference too. You can do it girl!

Chicky, good job for staying accountable.

Is it possible that those costco hot dogs have lots of carb/sugar in them???

I ask b/c I think I see a trend from the last several days that goes like this:

hot dog for lunch
dinner + extraneous desserts/carby foods that you shouldn't eat

Or is it possible that they don't have enough protein/fat to qualify as a meal and that's why you overeat later due to hunger? Ive never had one before so I don't know whats in them or what they taste like but it's just a thought.

Keep moving forward girl - YOU CAN DO IT!!!

welcome back chicky!!!

You need to follow these rules:

1) don't leave again
2) you need to start posting your meals again - regularly
3) you'll have a wonderful time in Maui
4) you'll advise your friends of your plan
5) you'll give them permission to slap you if you deviate from the plan
6) you'll take lots of pics of everything - including your food (no way to cheat if there is photographic evidence)
7) you will really enjoy yourself because you've been through a lot and you deserve a mental break from the stress of everyday life

Have an amazing time and i'm sooooooooo jealous. Vegas has NOTHING on Maui!!!

Well, it's been a while since I've posted. A lot has happened and changed hopefully for the better. My bf and I broke up and we're moving on. This has been really hard but I think it's for the best. It just feels like I'm dealing with the death of someone in my life. It's so hard to completely cut off all ties but I am hoping that this is for the best. Anyway, the good news is that I've been pretty good about my diet and am about 177 right now. Just trying to keep my good friends around me and counting the blessings I have in this world. The people that matter most to me are really shining through right now and I really appreciate it. I've also found a new workout buddy but we've been pretty busy and are working out like 2 days per week. Hope next week is a lot more stable so we can work out like 4 or 5 times. Sorry to be a drag...I needed to post this and hope to continue posting regularly...

Chica,

I hope you're doing ok. I was thinking about you a lot this weekend for obvious reasons. Let me know if you need to talk or if you come back to SF and want to just go get coffee or relax somewhere. I know you're strong and you'll get through this.

Let me know if you need anything girly
